    The Jarre/Vangelis/Froese/Schulze of the 21st Century, all rolled into one! Keeping those styles alive, but also building upon them beautifully.

      Well said! That's precisely what I love about her music. She takes inspiration from my absolute favorite musicians of all time and simultaneously injects a ton of personality, originality, and vision into her music. It looks to the past, present, and future. Truly timeless music!

    • @HerrSpuzzmacher
      @HerrSpuzzmacher 3 года назад +1

      Without intending to be argumentative or cranky, whenever I hear an artist described as [another artist] of today, or [another artist + another artist], it makes me think of what it would feel like to have worked for decades to learn the music and tech to get that good, only to be described as ...someone else. I think I’d feel like going, I’m my own person, doing my own thing! ...and how it would feel to be Vangelis etc, who is still alive and making music, like, “oh crap they’re already replacing me...”

    • @fraxis2007
      @fraxis2007 3 года назад +1

      @@HerrSpuzzmacher Interesting perspective, but the partial parallels to previous styles and composers seem to be intentional here. Many, if not all, artists build on their influences. Some use it as a shorthand to entice new listeners with some familiarity. Some, like Lisa, take it to another level. And, although I can't speak for Vangelis (who I would guess is so far above all of that kind of thinking and just loves doing what he does, even if nobody else heard it), it's evident that Jarre, for example, loves being perceived as the grandfather of it all, whilst continually reinventing himself for the rest of us to learn from all over again!

    You know, I just now watched this, but looking at the date it was recorded...That was the same day I brought home the ashes of my dear doggie Luna, who had practically raised me into adulthood over the course of 15 years. We had to say goodbye to her just days before that (Easter Sunday). I know it seems totally unrelated, but it just makes me happy to know that, on the same day that was so full of sadness and bittersweet memories for me, someone else was bringing new, beautiful and transcendent music into the world. The circle continues. Bless you, Lisa:)
