Totally off the wall comment: If the sheer number of posts and videos about TPLO is any indication, are we dealing with an epidemic? 'Perfect design' aside, what is causing CCL at what appears be be an alarming rate? Dogs acting like dogs is often served up as a possible cause but that seems a cop-out. Another theory I saw is 'spaying/neutering too early'. Prevention is the best solution so it would be beyond cool if a solid cause were to be found?

You are correct it is an epidemic. There are several known causes. Genetics being one of them. If you watch my video on causes of ccl injury I discuss possible theories. Thanks for the comment

Thank you for these. Any advice on how often should I take my dog out for bathroom breaks the first week?

You can take him out every few hours if needed. just make sure to use a sling and a short leash. you don't want him tripping or falling down stairs. the first few days he may be a "Little" off, but don't worry by the end of the week all will be good
