    Thank you for the very detailed description, first of all, of how to remove the plastic itself, which mostly all of us beginners break without knowing where the plastic studs are. Also, a detailed description of replacing the pump itself....

    Never experienced this before or heard of it before from elsewhere. An overheating fuel pump sounds frightening! Honda UK would be my next stop if it isn't resolved. Interesting series, thanks.

      I’m going to have a chat with the Honda dealer, even if only to restore my confidence in the scooter. It may be 4 years old but it’s only covered around 1200 miles but as I know very well, components can fail at any time.

    Thank you for posting this.
    I’ve just bought a UK vision 110 2019, with 38 miles on the clock, it’s now got just over 200 miles on it. I’m going to keep an eye on it and I’ll post up dates on here regarding any problems with the fuel pump.
    Have you seen Scooty mans vision videos, he’s got a couple of visions I believe and he’s done a fair bit of mileage on them, but I haven’t heard him mention any problems with fuel pumps yet. Also join the Honda c90 forum as a few people on there own them….(usually under the “other Honda section”)….helpful people on there.
    Thanks again.

    It happened… The fuel pump let me down today and left me stranded in the middle of the busy road, I had to push it all the way home and by the time I got home it cooled down enough to start and drive for all of 10 seconds.
    I’m 100% certain it’s the fuel pump problem. I’ll be following this video in the next few days. I’m only on 4000 miles from new.. I’m gutted, this scooter was supposed to be reliable, I’m done with it, I can’t be paranoid about a problem like this even after it’s fixed.

    I hate it when they make the new scooters so fragile , i remember old scooters had an fuel pump made of metal and it was connected to the frame pumping from the bottom of the tank. it almost never fail.. , not like the new pumps that inside the tank pumping from top of the tank and they always fail, ive seen this is the part selling the most on the junky yards... also they started to make this new nearby key system that is very expensive and I've seen those failing in my past.. every year it becomes more expensive and the product is getting worse, we need to start sharing those more and put in control the manufactures

    • @autoknight747
      @autoknight747  Год назад

      Very good points raised. Most of my bikes over the years had a fuel system that was ‘gravity fed’, so no need for any fuel pump. I’m thinking that with bikes now being fuel injected, the petrol needs to be delivered to the injector under pressure, hence the need for a car style fuel pump in the tank. Solving a problem that didn’t exist!

      @@autoknight747 I am not sure but from the eye perspective, it looks like the mechanical pump and the electric one are pumping at the same rate =/-.. I've seen more and more visions with the fuel pump fault, so weird for Honda. It was reliable scooters and they can't recall so disastrous problems with their scooters which were meant to be cheap in the first place but turns out with replacing the fuel pump twice a year its the same cost as any other scooter, not to mention work days lost(for those who work with the scooter) also dragging the scooter to the mechanic costs.

    Hi man, what do you think? TODAY, I mean NOW my fuel pump braked down again after one year later....what a dissapointment....I also kept always the petrol tank half full to keep the pump submerged in petrol to chill ! I need to wait more than 30 minutes to chill out in order to get back home with the bike from the braking point location. What can we do man? Is there any solution to this anoying issue? Greeetings. PS I still have 3 years warranty but I am seriosly thinking to sell it. It will happen again 100%

      @@autoknight747 I am riding with fear that it would brake again...especially in this hot summer we have more than 35C, I protect it by placeing it to the shadow and also by refueling much more often, after just 2 lines droped.

      @@IdealBike The tank capacity is so low and I get embarrassed just filing with £2 at the petrol station when half full, so now I keep a 5 litre fuel can in my garage and top it off before each ride. I also use E10 petrol, not E5.

    • @rodneysweetnam8653
      @rodneysweetnam8653 Год назад

      @@autoknight747Hi - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. If the issue is ethanol based, why don't you use E5 instead of E10 petrol? I use StarTron fuel stabiliser in my bikes and particularly in my garden machinery and chainsaws. This is a worrying problem as I'm just about to purchase a new Vision. I had read about the issue in Far Eastern countries and assumed it was due to their hot climates.

    • @autoknight747
      @autoknight747  Год назад

      @@rodneysweetnam8653 Hello - I do actually use E5 in my petrol vehicles and lawn mowers. There’s not much difference in price and these fuel tanks are tiny. My guess is that the previous owner didn’t though. If you are buying a new bike hopefully you’ll have the reassurance of the warranty which should keep you safe for a couple of years. Great idea about fuel stabiliser. I’ll be buying some as I don’t ride it in the winter.

    Have heard this is a problem with the Vision also they are expensive and slow to replace here in Australia

    • @autoknight747
      @autoknight747  10 месяцев назад

      I guess the heat there can’t help the situation. The tank capacity is just so tiny on these and the electric pump is likely not immersed in fuel for long as the level drops.

    Molim te možeš li mi reći dali ima filter goriva ? Ako ima na kojem djelu videa se nalazi , neznam Engleski pa se nisam snašao u videu.
    Planiram raditi velike servis sam , pošto mi u servisu traže 700 e , što mi je puno.
    Planiram promjeniti :
    Valjke , klizače , remen , svječicu , filter zraka i volan , jedino što me muči je taj filter goriva.
    Moja Honda vision je 2022 godište sa 32000 km i nikada nisam kvar imao , ulje stavljam motoul svakih 3000 km , kočione pločice sam zamjenio na 1000 km , stavljam ferodo pločice sada puno su bolje zaustavljaju skuter.

    THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO.
    Had and having the same problem on hot day (or night), something like 25 degree. My vision 110 (2018) would not restart after an engine stop at a red light after 10min ride. No problem when commuting. But during this week, it got worse and worse and today (so warm) my vision 110 did not even start.
    Anyone knows how to "repair" instead of changing the entire pump ?

    • @fredwagen2876
      @fredwagen2876 Год назад

      The mechanic told me it was due to the ethanol in fuel and dilatation ... so not hope to repair. Changing the fuel pump is the only hope. Honda changed the design and charge 236€ just for the pump 😞

    I have a 22 honda dio in New Zealand, same same bike but no smart key. Twice ive had it cut out on me when hiting a pothole in road. Tank full and riding cool. Pulled over and restated fine. Should this be a problem.

    • @autoknight747
      @autoknight747  11 месяцев назад +1

      It probably shouldn’t happen but in the face of it, doesn’t sound like it is linked to the overheating fuel pump and difficult hot start. I’d be exploring a potential loose electrical connection.
