By far the best song I’ve heard by them because it’s not trying to be so clever. There’s actual melodic content in this one and not just weird changes for the sake of them.

This is such a shameless rip-off of early Todd Rundgren that i swore it was him the first time i heard this.
Love you guys...your musical influences are obvious AND fun. But early on, at around 0:28 the use of Rundgren's song S-L-U-T is a little too obvious. Nothing wrong at all with your music having "flavors" from older music (or anytime for that matter) but at some point blatant use of other artists starts to become derivative. Be careful not to let deadlines force you into writing music you're not comfortable with releasing. It's obvious you guys are hugely talented and earnest but don't let the ability and strong desire (to play) outweigh the writing side of your art. You got youth, the looks and talent so don't let some a**hole talk you into believing that what you haven't got is TIME...cause guess what ? you got that too.

Julius, don't be upset. You're probably under the age of 30 and are not familiar with the music of the 60's and 70's. I'm not saying these guys aren't talented, they are, in fact, they are EXTREMELY gifted musicians and songwriters but they bring NOTHING new, creative or anything original to the table. The fact that they covered a Todd Rundgren song ("Couldn't I Just Tell You") from 1972 is proof they are aware that the music they create is just a carbon copy of everything done before. They even admit being huge fans of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Monkees. Oh, well, it doesn't matter. Whoever said "Rock and Roll will never die" didn't live past 1980.
So what do you believe to be original? Is no current rock music original? They didn't steal anything, so I don't know what all of this "copying" shit is about. Every tune these guys have made is 100% original. Just because it was made 30 years later its invalid and some how a ripoff or copy? What shit logic man. I guess any current rock, psych, blues, or jazz is unoriginal, because those genres were conceived over 50 years ago
