As a Christian I’m often dismayed by its use as a weapon or to divide. I really loved Peter’s insight here. He said, “The language of oppression is directly tied to the exclusion from heaven.” As he reminded us, Jesus said all are welcome. It’s sad when politics, power & greed outweigh love for some.

I had two near death experiences too. At newborn and at 14 from drug overdose. I saw a bright light my heart stopped. God is real. I approve and God approves. My life is getting easier now. I’m being my original soul self now. It was very difficult in my adolescences. 14 years I’ve been a Christian. It was difficult but worth it. I’d rather go to heaven forever when I pass away.

You are doing a great job, Heather. As you get more comfortable as an interviewer, there will be a temptation to interpret what your guests are saying. But we will all find our own connection and meaning with what’s being shared. Thanks for your efforts. You are clearly an evolved and loving being. 🫶👼🏼

It's been a while since I've been able to see the show so I'm binge watching tonight. One thing that strikes me so much is how consistent NDEs are with what is taught in Kabbalah and the western mysteries. That's an area I've been studying a lot recently and the correlation between the two is pretty mind blowing.
As always Heather, thank you. You're the best. 😊

After watching this episode with Peter, the song, "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles with John Lenon singing, comes to mind. Peter’s message seems to mimic the song, and both are true.

At the beginning of this year,
the man whom I revered as my best friend,
    abandoned and betrayed me.
In an instant, just like that, out of the blue...
    He discarded and replaced me.
I guess it wasn't real friendship.
I'd like to say it must have been love...
But really, it must have been a trauma bond.
    It's been over 8 months,
    and I'm still healing...

I am so sorry. This must be so difficult. I had someone very close to me betray me once and it crushed me. She was someone I was very close to so it hurt me deeply. I know all experiences are different but to a small degree I understand some of your loss and pain and I am so very sorry. Sending love and a prayer your way.

I have read Peter's book and I really enjoyed this series with him. Thanks for making it. Peter is awesome. You mentioned to ask questions. This isn't specifically for Peter, but more generally I've heard you ask guests about the timeless nature of the afterlife. Guests always struggle to answer, and I guess I understand that such a different concept would be hard to explain. The slight variant on that question that I would like to hear asked is, How does one know that the afterlife has a timeless nature to it? If they mention that there is no time over there, then what did they experience to make them know that?

    • @Beyond_with_Heather_Tesch
      @Beyond_with_Heather_Tesch  3 месяца назад

Thanks. That is a great way to frame that question. I am going to jot it down and save it for when it seems appropriate. Best wishes!

Parts 3 & now 4 we’re powerful. It really brought clarity to how his NDE changed him, how he used his knowledge to help and serve and how we all can too with simply putting love 1st. Regardless of what you believe, no one can go wrong by showing, giving and receiving love. As your tag line indicates, by learning from people like Peter maybe we can make this world a better place.

Jesus taught that you will know the tree by its fruit. If the NDE's fruit is a drastic change in person's heart to the degree when all they want is love, forgiveness and peace- it's a good fruit and it's a good tree. God is the source of all good. I don't think these NDErs get deceived.

I'm actually a scientist - a meteorologist (if you count that). That was my career for more than 25 years. I think there are many scientists who don't believe in the afterlife but I've also met many who do. But yes, as you said God is love. I believe we will all know that someday.

Too many tropes are shared across NDEs for it to be a product of the brain: Tunnel, life review, the peaceful void, the great light, meeting dead family or friends, telepathic communication, feeling absolute love and peace, feeling/knowing of being home, etc. If an NDE was a product of brain (from dmt or some other brain based chemical concoction at death) it would be random across the board for everyone and share no similarities across the board with so many people. Telepathy? Why? The brain knows only speech and communicating via the mouth, therefore why would telepathy be an invented thing by the brain as an experience during an NDE for so many? Logically, in whatever brain based hallucinations you were having the brain would use what it knows: vocal communication.
And we have not even touched on OBEs, which is far more fascinating. How can consciousness leave the body and still have senses and experience, especially in a shut down brain (like in a heart attack)? How do people accurately describe events in resuscitation when their frontal cortex is off, eyes are closed (or have the death stare) and yet they describe everything that happened nearly perfectly from a top down perspective afterwards? I can understand hearing everything and somehow retaining it as a memory during resuscitation, but seeing accurately? How? If consciousness is a product of brain then it cannot detach from brain and exist outside of it. Dr. Sam Parnia’s research on OBEs is probably some of the most fascinating research being done currently.
No… too many people experience too many of the same things (tropes) during their NDEs for it not to be some kind of conscious experience outside of brain. Why would random, uncaring evolution even produce a mechanism in the brain for peaceful death experiences? It doesn’t care what you experience at death, there is no survival benefit to that. It doesn’t care if you have a peaceful loving experience while dying because evolution CAN’T care - it just happens and whatever is beneficial for survival sticks around. NDEs are not, in any way, beneficial for the survival of the individual.
Clearly OBEs (and NDEs) are pointing towards consciousness being separate from physical brain if not even fundamental in nature. It doesn’t prove it, but is definitely pointing towards it.
