I found it to be a bit offensive. Almost every minute of the program, most of them mocked every aspect of the experience and those they encounter. They would make jokes about everything and then get a bit serious to describe things for the camera. Their hygiene was terrible where they shoved their bottles into the wine spout so that others can experience their germs, instead of pouring it into the bottle a bit away from the spout. Reasons for walking the Camino are very personal and should not be mocked. That is very judgmental. Even the woman who claims to be a priest mocks aspects of her own religion. No one seemed to be on a personal journey to discover anything, but seemed paid to not earn or get a single blister. To talk about their past and not get anything out of the experience. They truly did not seem to be searching for anything.

I have thumbs upped your comment I too was searching for getting a lot spiritual. Yet, I beg you to see them as people who want to be spiritual. At least they are not violent or offensive. They are probably the last spirituals or seeking enlightenment. In India where I live, I find no peace of mind. But when I read books in English about journeys and pilgrimages I find a profound positive emotion draping my soul and giving me my peace in a quiet manner. This video does the same, too. A sense of quietness walking towards peace. Thank you.

I got excited when i saw this here and after a few minutes into it, i realized this docuvideo does not really represent a true pilgrimage experienced on the camino. The editing is really good because of BBC produce it. I was really disappointed after watching them talked about what they feel and their personal opinion.

Thank you for uploading this interesting series.
This was the 2nd episode that Heather found offense where I genuinely believe that none was intended. She had previously critiqued a Medieval church's paintings for not having black images, totally ignoring the era & remote location & how the architects, masons & artists of the time may not have ever seen a black face.
Some people just want to be offended & act the victim.

I remember recording this series on the telly, so excited to watch it
    Then I watched it
Never been more disappointed in my life
They didn't walk The Way like the actual pilgrims do
    They complained the entire time
They had no sense of the ethereal
Some of them had a stick up their bum the entire time with regards to religion and they couldn't even consider just walking into a Church and experiencing a Mass - why the fuck were they then even on the show?
A Reverend who shows no reverence to the Faith she is supposed to represent? The BBC really know how to find them!
A black woman who is more interested in apparently getting offended about how her race isn't represented in Medieval Christian Art? Sure, the BBC found one of that too
Ask yourself this question - if the BBC was making a program on Muslims from the UK going to Mecca, do you think these are the kinds of people they would choose?
    An Imam who mocks Islam?
A black Muslim man who's constantly got issues about race?
A lapsed Muslim who you can see quite frankly hates the religion and won't enter the Kaaba or any mosque on the way?
Constant drivel and complaining, with no sense of a desire to learn something on their pilgrimage path?
    Absolutely pathetic show!

Like many of the comments here was looking forward to this but was extremely disappointed. It seems the producers were more intent in creating tension and arguments about beliefs and philosophy amongst the participants. Although beautifully filmed and containing some genuine people and stories it just left me frustrated. Was particularly disappointed a couple of the participants didn’t go to the pilgrims service at cathedral in Santiago de Compestella. That is part of the Camino experience whether you are believer or not. More of a loss to them.

I tried to watch the whole video but i can´t take it. This reality show alike with these stupid personalities, typical british reality show. It's kind of disrespectful when they reached the fountain of wine and when they entered in the church. By the way, maybe they don't know the Spanish people sense of humor and the black girl reacted that was an offense to her without trying to understand it, she forgot that she was at a pilgrimage and that is religious and spiritual and the people on those villages are only trying to be more welcoming in a sense that is only joke and the language barrier makes that misunderstanding scenario. These people in the villages of the camino de Santiago encountered hundreds of people everyday in their life and they don't need to be racist. The albergue who run by a British with typical english tea & english food for the english people that's pathetic, its just like americans doing the camino and eating burgers in mcdonalds.

If there were no GOD and no religion and we had all happened to land on this here Earth... how do we have MORALITY. How do we know good and bad? Who taught us that? There would be no standard against which to measure goodness or badness. So atheists may not believe in GOD but they go along on a free ride with Christians who have taught morality to the world. Our laws in the Western world are all based on Christian principles. And even in lands of the East, Christian morality reigns because Christianity is in essence Eastern thought.
