I got this guy and the new trunks at the same time, and I was blown away by the stark difference in quality; this Vegeta looks and feels much more solid than Trunks. His plastic quality is also better.
Only thing I had with my Vegeta is the leg popped out of the socket when I tried to raise it up like they showed in the photos. Other than that, he's pretty solid. I got him and Trunks delivered yesterday...I had a helluva time getting the strap over Trunks' torso without it popping out of sheath. And the left arm comes off too easily... but, despite that, I'm very pleased with them both. They are HUGE upgrades to the Premium Color Editions that I had standing on my shelf before I got these two.
Depends. I got two Trunks figures.the first one I got left me severely disappointed. I couldn’t believe the lack of quality control. Even the belt was shaking lose. The second one I got was what I expected before release. It was solid, it looked and posed solidly and it felt great. I shouldn’t have to get multiple figures to find a good one but it shows that the issue is in the manufacturing and not the design or anything like that. They simply MUST stop cutting corners when it comes to manufacturing. The Trunks figure is phenomenal, it’s just put together like shit.
I got mine about a week ago. I like the figure. It is what I’ve come to expect from S.H. Figuarts. I love the folded arms. And as someone new to the line. I am happy for any reissues they put out.
This hair is exactly what they should be doing whenever they want to have an added effect to the hair. It’s almost like it’s shaded underneath and then a metallic, almost pearlescent, top coat. That lighter yellow/gold colouring is key as well. It’s what gives it that glowing pale essence of the animated show instead of looking cheap and yellow like some other times they’ve tried, like with the recent Goku re-issue for instance, or that flat yellow like that awful full power Goku.
Yes been waiting for this one! Way better than the original. New face, better color on the armor, better shade of blue, and that new hair looks amazing. And only $35, this is definitely the best Vegeta figure so far, which is crazy considering its a GR repaint. Wish you found the old one to compare because this new one looks so much better its night and day.
I got Trunks 2 weeks ago and just got Vegeta this week and I am easily 5x happier with Vegeta then I am with trunks. That says a lot especially because I'm a trunks fan boy. (I just HATE his sheath falling apart and the floppy legs) Phenomenal release especially for how cheap it is.
Just got the reissue of this figure that's been around Targets and Walmarts this past month. My first jump in point to the line. What a wonderful figure, as I'm used to domestic offerings.
I noticed that the leg falling off issues is when the inner piece that is meant to cover the gap doesn't spin with the leg.. if u move it with it it works better
Hey Anthony. Hope you and the family are feeling better, and you had a great Father's Day. The review for this figure and Trunks are very much appreciated. You saved me some money on Trunks. As much as I want that figure, I just can't justify spending that amount of money for a figure with that many QC problems. It's really unfortunate, since that could have been a definitive Trunks figure. I ended up canceling my Trunks and Vegeta preorder, but after seeing this, I think I'm going to get Vegeta.
Flat hair with shading all the way. I really like the pale yellow they used for the newish SS Gohan head that came with one of the Gamma guys. If that head had some shading it would look great. This new Vegeta is definitely an upgrade on the old one. I have that one and the blue was oddly pale, it's a shade of blue I don't think I've ever seen on Vegeta before. Nonetheless, I've been fine with it for now so I think I'll pass on this one as it doesn't fix one of my main gripes with the old one and that's how soft Vegeta's nose turned out. It just gets lost in the sculpt where as the new SS4 portraits don't suffer the same. I'll probably wait and see if a new one comes along. Since they're doing a lot of Cell Saga stuff, maybe they'll do a super buff Vegeta or something and get some extra use out of some of the parts on that new Goku coming next year.
I'm glad they're rereleasing a bunch of figures... In 2021 some stuff happened and I needed a good amount of money fast, so I sold my entire sh figuarts dragon ball collection.. each one I shipped sucked. Now things are better, and I'm financially stable, so I'm starting my collection back up from square one 👊🏻

It would be amazing if we could get a 2.0/3.0 vegeta with an accurate body sculpt that doesn’t have baby quads. Better yet, give us an ssj2 vegeta with an accurate hair sculpt and not just a reused ssj1 hair
I definitely like the metallic hair the best, and translucent the worst. The flat yellow hair works, but the shading can make the hair look more like tentacles when it's overdone (like on a lot of older SHF DBZ figures IMO)
Definitely agree on the box. Love the way the blue works with the white. But the actual figure is also great. I've always been a vegeta fan more than a goku guy so this figure will definitely be a pickup for me
Got Vegeta and Trunks at the same time, Trunks was the one I wanted the most and ended up loving the Vegeta figure instead, lol. The leg of my Trunks figure fell and I had to fix it; the thigh swivel isn't really a thigh swivel, it's a damn screw rotating inside a super thin piece of plastic. Be careful with Trunks because their legs are gonna break sooner or later. Question of the day: I prefer flat colors plus shading but the way the did Vegeta's hair is really great. If every figure was done the same I'd like it a lot.
i got this figure a while ago and - after the amazing feeling of finally owning an shf vegeta figure passed - my first gripe was the shoulders. idk, they feel too big compared to the rest of the figure. ig i'll wait until the 3.0 vegeta gets announced lol
I own the original Saiyan armour Trunks so didnt bother to buy the repaint although I missed the original Vegeta so I picked up this new one. The colours are so much nicer and the face plates so much sharper than Trunks. Im contemplating on having a crack at repainting the blue/mauve colour to match the new Vegeta. As for question of the day 1. Matte with shading (awakening warrior Goku) 2. Metallic with shading (this Vegeta) 3. Flat yellow 4. Flat metallic 5. Translucent (Ive kept away from these and don't have any).
The promos were better than the actual figure, his boots were the correct color for this specific vegeta, the one who first turned super saiyan against 19, he had white boots.
I know this video is a little bit old but if you remove the flaps you get pretty much full possibility with the legs idk if this is bad but it def works and it doesn’t look that bad
I like the hair to be a lighter yellow in a flatter finish, but this hair is a close second. I shaved that cap down on my Super Hero Vegeta and they rattle a little, but I think its a fair trade for the range. Also this guy is only 35$, surprised you didn't point that out to help reinforce why Marvel Legends are over priced.

Metallic makes the most sense when they’re at full power, flat would be when they’re powered down/beaten up. Translucent doesn’t make sense and is just ugly.
Hello mr anthony.. do you feel that vegeta shf all figures are harder to standing in stabile position? They very easily drop down in my display rack if i dont use shf display helper.. And this vegeta use the same mold with The previous vegeta...?

No issue about ankle in ssj4 but do you feel the leg is soooo Loose. Goku and Vegeta ssj 4 just the same.. seems nothing is right about this Vegeta figure
Have been loving the added lines in the faces for extra details that is being implemented in the DBZ faces. I like the release but i think they could have corrected the issues prior release had😅

Absolutely the coolest character in the show. Did you happen to look at the BBTS post for this figure? It’s pictured doing an insane very Vegeta high kick, do you think that’s just action figure photography magic? I’m tempted to pock this figure up, because of your review, but man it not being able to kick as advertised is a little annoying.
I really like the lighter yellow with the metallic shine on this one.. I just wish they were consistent. SS Trunks isn't shiny... and SS Goku isn't light yellow. Why are they all different?!

Mine is stuck in shipping a week late. Update: got my figures. But they're seam lines galore and the paint is messy in some areas. Awesome figures otherwise
My bet is that we are getting a new vegeta like you said, the same way we got the new goku announced after the OG repaint one for the anniversary. And I am absolutely putting my money on the roided out cell saga super vegeta. Seeing how beefy the new goku is and how well that was done, the fact that we haven't gotten arguably the most iconic form for vegeta tells me there finally going to do it.
@@bossbunnyboy the face ain’t resculpted, however it does have a new print for the eyes, and it makes everything look way more accurate than the original. I have it and for the price especially, I’d say this is the best super saiyan vegeta out so far and I’d say the face looks great even in person

For me, a die hard DBZ fan, the only good figure to date is the upcoming Legendary SSJ Goku. Not even that Imagination Works Goku (which, although you praised the sculpt, you destroyed because the articulation was dumb). They're good enough for people, I guess, it's just that it frustrates me how little effort the makers put into translating 2D to 3D.
@@FlipFlab I got it around $45. I don't know how to explain it in english,but I really hate it because the lower joints is no different than the OG. Can't split and can't do high kick like in the promo image. Not to mention the ankle.

Vegeta is made in china and trunks is made in vietnam. The vietnam figures always feel cheaper in my experience

This Vegeta was more satisfying than the sdcc 2023 Son Goku. Plus, it's cheap!

The face plates are screen printed for accuracy and I much prefer the metallic hair. Gives more of the super Saiyan aura effect.

@AnthonysCustoms SO much prefer it that way especially on the upcoming SDCC releases too. Helps against QC issue and overall looks better 👌
