Tinsel, pine needles, a penny from the 1940's, a marble and several matches. No joke. That and a load of crud and fluff. Very rewarding though.
Great advice. Some small tools you might add is a spring hook, hemostat forceps, and a mini wrench set.

My failing is getting too excited about starting a clean, and getting carried away and not thinking of my area (kitchen table covered in rags, cleaners, Q-tips, and tools...just in time for dinner)-- that i's good advice.

Thanks for that video, very good points to think of. For the typeslugs to clean i've made good experiences with my electric toothbrush and a used brushhead and mineral spirit, that cleans in seconds

My wife and I are allergic to dust, so I prefer to blow dust outside the house, or I use an accessory with a mini brush to suck the dust with a HEPA vacuum.
Users manual always say to put a portable typewriter in its case to protect against dust. I think that very dusty portables are the result of leaving them uncovered on a desk all the time.

I upgraded my cotton swab game by switching to bamboo cotton swabs. Much more reach and they don’t break.
Can you do a 'psychotherapy' session on how if you are actually repairing and collecting nice typewriters and geeking out about them, positively, that you are now going to be considered by some mean people at least as the Biggest Nerds ever, similar to people who like books in general and also fantasy books and other 'outdated' so called things like figurative sculpture, esp. in stone? 😄
