russians are all skill and nothing else. very few of them play defense, play with heart, do little things. malkin, ive never been his biggest fan but i like him more in the last 5 years than at any point in his career, but malkin takes games off. sometimes multiple games just dogging it making bad plays with the puck. russian hockey is very 90s. all those europeans flooding the NHL were very trendy. for the foreseeable future, russia will never win an adult competition (they might win juniors) where canada and the US can send their best. north american hockey is far superior to russian hockey.

I was at this game. In the Upper Bowl of the arena in the first Row of D. The seats were right on the goal line, the Hat-Trick goal he potted was THE sickest goal I have seen.. Couldn't see the puck til it hit the back of the net. It was such a fast shot I don't think anybody could have stopped that.
