I think this mix is much heavier and emotional than the former, hats off.
Incredible how different and better it sounds than the 1985 mix! Can't wait for my colored vinyl!
The bass is all wobely and out of time. Its fucking awesome. Fucking awesome.
The insanely most misinterpreted and misunderstood album of the eighties, and maybe in the entire universe of so called "popular music".
This here is to be called one outrageous masterpiece of music, a fusion of the finest emotions, music is being capable to deliver to a listener. Just few recordings are able to live up to this, early Roxy Music and David Bowie albums are comparable in their uniqueness of perfection.
And still today, those self claimed criticist music journalists are not able, in any way, of reasonably reviewing this album without any prejudice.
This, as any piece of art, is not to be compared when discussed, but should be experienced as it would be the only piece of art in existence.
Comparison of art is product of an industry focussing on enslaving art, thus the artist.

It seems a little bit slower in the beginning, the snare sounds kind of dead in comparison to the original and the drum parts had changed quite a lot (not for the better, I think). But the all around sound is richer. I'm glad, both versions exist.

This sounds like a new recording rather than a new mix. Chuck's vocals are different.
It might be an outtake version that the band/producers rejected in place of the one that ultimately went on the album but which was dusted-off decades later and given a second life. Another factor might be the fact that this song was included on the soundtrack for the late '80s movie "Less Than Zero"*; so, its producers/sound-engineers might've had input on which take of the song that they liked best for soundtrack purposes
(*also features a solo Glenn Danzig track -- if you don't already know that, that is)

The WCAL version is slow paced, the introduce version is more mid paced, and the live at Brixton version is more fast paced.
Is this a mix, or is this a brand new version from the band? I know they've been doing some new live stuff with Mosley showing up. I wonder if they got Mosley in the studios to do a new version? The cadence in his words sounds like a very different tempo.
The original version is so much better. This doesn't even compare.. I'm sorry to even listen to it... Hope it wont stay in my head... Gonna play the original right away a few times!

Drums sound sucks. Annoying double snare hits. Why? Original version sounds great. In original bass sounds lot better. Yes, in this track double guitar - left and right, more lows and more compression, but it sounds dead.
The bass is not nearly as slappy in this version. You had one job!
Drum mix is horrible, vocals too prominent, and can hardly hear Sir James Martin's bitchin' riffs. Absolutely pointless.
