Great video, thanks! Question - what is that rectangular "wafer" for? I just pulled my alternator on my '72 bus and it does not have the wafer. Everything else is identical from what I can tell. Thanks in advance.
Sorry I didn't notice this comment til now. It seems the fiberglass wafer creates a non conductive buffer on the post. The large O ring under the post is hot and could ground out causing a dead short.
