Greatly appreciate you taking the plunge and being so early with this introduction to a new game. Seeing the mechanics of a new game in action, as you discover it yourselves, provides a great service for anyone interested in exploring what Achtung Panzer is actually like. Well done!
Thank you, it was our first run through the rules and was very much a learning game.
Good stuff chaps, great fun going on the learning journey with you. The cards add that sense of the unexpected which I found most amusing! Thanks for making the effort to film and share for our benefit 👍
Thank you, your comments are very much appreciated.
It is a fun game, just need to
Learn the rules to help with the speed and game play, we had fun, and glad we could share… hopefully my starter set with the cards and tokens will be arriving soon so we can have another battle with the correct accessories, will help with the feel and game play.
Thank you again for your kind words 👍🏻
After the waste of time that was 'Tank War', it seems Warlord have finally got the whole Mechanised Warfare thing right. I have the cardstock and rulebook on pre-order and was waiting for some gameplay footage, so many thanks for taking the time.
You are welcome, glad you enjoyed it… we had fun and enjoyed the flow and the cards add an extra element.
We are hoping to get some more content in the near future.
Thanks again 👍🏻
Thanks for uploading this! As soon as the pre orders were available I ordered the rulebook and tokens. Now I have a Sneek preview about how it plays out. 👍🏻
You are welcome , we wanted to see how the rules played, pretty sure with experience it will be a fast paced game.
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
I would very much like to se another batrep! Thanks guys :)
Thank you, both George and I really enjoyed this game, and with a little more practice I think it will be quite a fun little game… I will have to check when he is next available for another Achtung Panzer game… watch this space 👍🏻😉
I really enjoyed the game, and love the almost panicked feeling..
The book Brothers in Arms, by James Holland , i highly recommend to almost promote the actual game.
Awesome Demonstration. Thank you 😊
Thank you, and much appreciated… this was very much a learning experience for us, and we wanted to share, so thank you for the positive comment… I will definitely have to look that book up!
Hopefully a proper battle report will be coming soon and should be a bit faster paced as we get to grips with the rules.
Thanks again 👍🏻
Thanks for running us through your game. Just have to keep reminding ourselves that this is a game and not a simulation !!! Keep up the good work
Thank you, yes indeed it is just a game, but an enjoyable game 👍🏻
Thanks again for your comment.
Looks interesting my friends. Thanks for sharing a d looking forward to seeing more content
Thank you, our recent battle was great fun… I am working on some more German tanks that will offer some more variety 👍🏻
Look forward to it !!!
Thank you very much for this video. I ordered the rules and tokens already, and now I have a good impression of how the game will work. I watched a german preview video the other day, and the experience seems to be the same. This game is for tank enthusiasts who want a mostly realistic game of medium-sized tank battles in WWII. But for me, it will be no replacement for Boltaction Tank Wars.
Thanks for the positive feedback, we have another game tomorrow so hoping we can work through the rules a little quick to make the game play more dynamic… hoping it’s fun quick game 👍🏻🤞🏻
Super excited to play this. Cannot wait to see some more gameplay!
Thank you, it was our first run through the rules and was very much a learning game, our future battles should be more dynamic and faster paced.
A excellent video, and loved the camera work..many games may have a static or over the top camera...liked the rules and been waiting to find out how damage works...looking forward to watching more with you
Thank you for your kind comments and feedback 👍🏻
We are planning another game, hopefully a bit faster paced next week, ready for next weekend!
Thanks again
FINALLY actual content for AP! To be honest, I thought Warlord really wet the bed with how they released the game. The preorders have been up over a month at this point, with no one knowing the actual rules of the game. In my entire BA playgroup no one could be arsed to order anything Achtung Panzer!, because no one wanted to invest in a game they dont know is good or not.
Thanks for the comment, we have a proper full Achtung Panzer battle report going out today… that shows the rules in action and at a decent pace, definitely worth a watch.
Thanks again 👍🏻
@@theministryofminiatures looking forward to it, thanks!
Thanks for uploading a battle report. Would be interested in seeing how other vehicles work
Yes, we left a few bits out on purpose, wanted to focus on the core rules to start with…
…once we get the proper cards and tokens etc we can expand and hopefully be a bit quicker with it too!
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Fun game, I like the chaos the card play can create in confounding an opponent.
We really enjoyed the cards, just added the surprise and uncertainty!
We are doing another game in the week, so hopefully we’ll get a proper good game in!
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Good idea using all the starter set tanks.
Thanks, I decided to do that when I realised they both equalled 50 points, plus it is thematic!
Hope you liked it, it was literally our first run through with the rules, so we think it is likely to be a fairly easy game to pick up and should be quite quick to get a battle in… 👍🏻
Interesting. I like the activation sequence and card play. Loading the gun is silly but I guess that keeps the rate of fire in check. Tank commanders dont have to worry about loaders really. Good for trying it out!
Thanks for the comment … i think the gun loading should be faster and just a phase you need to do as part of your turn, we are going to play with it on our next battle.
Thanks again
My Starter Set arrived today. I'm excited to start painting. 🖌
Excellent! Let us know how you get on 👍🏻
Let the dog in
Lol 😂 🐕🦺 🐾 🐾
Great video guys, just subscribed. Is anyone else getting ToofatLardies What a Tanker vibes from how this plays?
Thank you, much appreciated…
I have heard a few people say that, although I have never played what a tanker I do have the rules, maybe if I get the chance I will try to compare, but at the moment I am working on my D-Day US Airborne army for our D-Day 80th anniversary celebration weekend in June!
im going to use these rules in bolt action. with some parts removed for speed and to comp for infantry.
Good idea, I am sure that once you get to grips with the rules they are fairly straightforward and will be able to get through phases pretty quickly.
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Is anybody out there old enough to remember playing battleground?
It came out by easy eight enterprises
Probably early 90's
Their tank rules were fantastic much simpler than this, and had quite a nice result
Basically, you assign your tank a playing card or make a card and make the deck
Flip over a card that tank gets to two actions
Spotting included type of ammunitions included,
Commander exposed is included
When you hit your roll a D20 to see what location according to what facing of the tank (the tank charts for each tank were glorious)
Besides the location it describes what the effect is if it's a penetrating it, you could destroy the tank if it's a non-penetrating hit you damage the tank
Morale is included
All in all fun, I may go back to that
I remember the game, but never got to play it.
I think this game with a little more practice will be much quicker and fairly easy to play, this was just a walk through the rules for our first run.
@@theministryofminiatures I understand you guys did a great job you always do and I will still be getting my starter set. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, we need to get a couple of games in to get up to speed… we also have a few players with tanks, both 28mm and 15mm so might look at different scales too!
Cheers, 👍🏻
@@theministryofminiatures I agree my go to game is the battle group system. I have a lot of 20 mm tanks. I thought about using those.
@SGusky we discussed this off camera, we think other size tanks will work fine 👍🏻
Really enjoyed and really informed run through of the game. Thank you 👍
Thank you for your kind comments, it was our first run through having read the rules, so we are planning another game this week, which should be faster and see the full game completed with the proper tokens and cards used.
Thanks again 👍🏻
Ug - paper work. Same problem to lesser extent with What a Tanker. Keeping track of tank and crew stats is a pain unless you have room on the table. A 4x8 table is a bit of a luxury.
Also the way they've packaged this is frustrating. I'm a bolt action player, with plenty of models. But I can't see where I can buy the book and cards for 2 factions so I can host a game. It's not like you'll ever find another opponent that has the other faction's cards. Maybe we'll be able to print out cards? Thanks for the video.
Hi, thanks for the comments, as a Bolt Action player too I understand where you are coming from, Warlord Games do sell an accessory pack with the rules, tokens and cards for all 4 nations, which is what I have opted for… that way I can use the tanks I already own without having to buy more… we might even try 15mm as George as a fair collection of tanks at that scale!
Where did you get those roads?
I think FatFranks-wargaming on eBay, they are pretty reasonable prices and flexible too, perfect for a number of scales, I love them 👍🏻
True line of sight? Terrain doesn’t block? I didn’t quite understand that. Great looking game though thanks for the game.
Yes it is true line of sight, the terrain does block, but not the same as Bolt Action, so no hard cover… it is treated differently as ambush terrain.
And thanks for the comment, much appreciated 👍🏻
Hello, George here. I Made a mistake during this game regarding ambush terrain and LOS. True Line of sight it is. Terrain does block for spotting and shooting. Not sure where I got my interpretation from. So entirely my bad sorry.
@georgebell2736 thanks 👍🏻
@@G4George Ok thanks that makes much more sense now. Doesn’t really matter as it was a learning game but I was trying to get my mind around the terrain rules.
Achtung Markers😂
I know, we had to improvise! Still we have received the actual cards and markers now so plan to do a faster battle in the week 👍🏻
@@theministryofminiatures Don't get me wrong. The battle report was cool. I just don't like the amount of markers in this game in general.
Thanks, yes there are a few…!
Great video, realky shows the merits if the rules. My hot take is, Wow this game looks boring as F. Tedious micromanagement of a crew. Playing 28's on a table lengthwise with open terrain just made it worse. I see tanks just sitting on the start line and blazing away at each other. Why move when you have a target in range. Feels like you play game mechanics not the period. Full on fail.
Thank you for your comments. You make some good points. This clearly is not a game for everyone.
Thanks George, it certainly seems that the game has divided opinions on whether people like it or not!
Thanks for your comment, we are looking to make another video this week to play a full game with the correct cards and tokens… were hoping the game dynamics run a bit faster as we took our time to run through the rules, this time.
Thanks again
Looks abit boring
Sorry about that, it was our first trial with the rules, so we probably were taking our time to try to get them correct…
I couldn’t watch past turn 2 wow what a dull game. I think rather than warlord wasting time with this they should have really at least made a revised version of bolt action action second edition.
Thanks for the feedback…
I think the game is fairly easy to pick up, it’s only our first run at the rules so it will be faster and more dynamic when we get to grips with it.
Rather slow and clunky, I was hoping this would be able to mix in with the bolt action game so that you could have infantry in the game as well.
On another note, can you tell me where you sourced your road terrain?
Really enjoy your channel 😊
Please remember that it was our first run through with the rules and was very much a learning game, our future battles should be more dynamic and faster paced, we just need to get to grips with the way it works… but we will get there.
The roads are from Fatfranks-wargaming on ebay, they are very nice and flexible too 👍🏻
For what they charge for this stuff, they should be doing BOTH.
@@theministryofminiatures I don’t think playing faster will make it any more exciting it’s just seems meh
