  • here’s my guide to tools needed to be a toyota tech! i’ve been asked many times to make this video so here it is for y’all! this doesn’t cover everything you’ll need, but a broad overview from lube rack to main linewhat you’ll use daily. there’s a few things i forgot after i rewatched it so i apologize, 17mm stubby wrench for power steering racks is essential. as well as a torque wrench (which was in the video just forgot to note it😅), and a multimeter.
anyways, let me know feedback and thank you for the love and support. 🤘🏻

@@TxToolGuyI have! It broke for its first time this year after abusing it for a hard 5-6years as my breaker bar ect
I carry around this tool in the car in case I need to change a flat. It is the medium sized snap on 3/8” flex head ratchet (green😉), just like the one you showed, with the 17mm deep wheel socket on me at all times. You might consider keeping around something similar in the trunk of your car because once what happens to me happens to you also, you’ll be so paranoid that you might also pack a floor jack too while your at it lol😂 the factory bmw lug next wrench left me very stranded one night and thats when I found myself standing in the local tool truck. What I didn’t know what was up ahead was going to be a slippery slope because that was like 6 years ago and that one ratchet and wheel socket slowly escalated into a full tool bag packed with all the essentials a guy can need for his far from reliable classic bmw m3 🤣
Ps….I’m not a mechanic by trade, I just enjoy working on my own cars and building them as a hobby. That doesn’t mean that 3/8” ratchet and it’s baby brother the 1/4” flex don’t get used nearly every other day and since they are my primary go to ratchets I can say based on my experiences of using them as breaker bars and more lol I’ve only just once broken the gear set inside the 3/8 ratchet . Which was earlier this year I got it warrantied and the head rebuilt and that’s things ready for another decade of useage and torquing wheel studs 😂😂😂😂 that’s quality you just can’t get anywhere else. Stop being cheap and buy yourselves some nice shit you won’t be sorry you did once you realize once you been missing out on all this time, talk about ergonomics 🤭😮‍💨😮‍💨 ok dam this was long hope someone gets some amusement out of this and some useful insight if you’ve been on the fence about spending snap on type money for tools 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve been a Toyota fan my whole life (non mechanic), ‘04 4runner v8 ‘14 4runner trail edition now ‘23 Gx460 and ‘16 ram 1500 hemi. I’ve accumulated a lot of snapon on tools over 35 years. I just did the parking brake on the ram which had a seized parking lever. Drum brakes inside the rotors was a major PIA but I must admit, that trim tool by snapon was so useful esp with the pin clip and helping to release the parking cable. Never thought I’d use it on anything but trim clips. Love your videos. Btw - I picked up the 1/2” 24” snapon breaker bar w/45 degree offset is now my favorite, time to retire my 18”.

When my breaker bar broke before my 1/2 inch ratchet, I knew it was time to retire the breaker bar.
The best oil filter housing tools I found were from Matco, made from machined steel with a chrome finish. They sell two, one normal for most Toyotas and one slightly bigger for Tundras. They work well on both the metal and plastic filter housings, even when the plastic ones have wear on them. I have the same blue point one you have. I didn’t buy it, it was struck on a Toyota Corolla’s filter housing.

I though brake bleeder machines require an air compressor? Do I have to buy a little air compressor if I want to use a brake bleeder?
