My favorite part so far is when Thor threw the hammer and kratos ran to attack him and he called it back and called Kratos a Dumbass lmaoooo. That was crazy
It's so weird that nobody i've seen play through the game so far takes notice when Thor literally destroys your shield during the fight lol. Everybody asks "my shield is broke???" during the fight with the huntress.

If you play the original GoW, Kratos was tricked by Ares into killing his own wife and daughter. Imagine his horror when he saw that the Bear, Bjorn, was Atreus.

@@secularhumanistforever the fact that the games you are so hyping up have a limited playerbase and most gamers haven’t played them shows alone why they shouldn’t win game of the year. accessibility is a factor too. Gow ragnarok deserves game of the year due to it being near enough perfect or elden ring for redefining certain aspects of gaming. Two low budget mmo rpgs with barely any marketing don’t deserve it

I was the absolute biggest God of war fan you could imagine. I absolutely hate the new direction of the series. Sony is now doing what Ubisoft does and is making all their first party titles follow the exact same formula. Horizon, GOW, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone ect. Lifeless open world collect-a-thons. Every one of those games could trim off a ton of fat and be better for it. They're all the same now. Unlike say Uncharted 3 vs GOW 3 vs Resistance 3. Those were all unique and different first party titles. I've said it since day one and I still stand by it; The opening level in GOW 3 trumps ANY scene in the first ps4 GOW. It's leagues ahead in terms of scale and action. We literally got a crack head looking trailer park trash antagonist for the reboot. Thrilling. Ascension puts it to shame solely for the multiplayer aspect as well.

Atreus' voice does not match his appearance. Every time he speaks it takes me out of the moment. Odin's appearance and voice also killed it for me a bit.
Tbf, there are kids like that. It's also the same kid, as they likely didn't want to hire another voice actor for the role and for story purposes.

idk if it can top GOW3 or GOW4. Those games for completely different reasons were so fucking good. Finally defeating Zeus and fufilling Kratos' goal as the entire world was destroyed and seeing Kratos as a father again and being much older in a completely new realm after 8 years of waiting were both incredible experiences. Its still damn good though so far.

Game is good but the combat feels too spongey
The last GOW game didn't vibe with me totally, but this one hit's my nostalgia nail on the head with how the combat looks. The swords and cool fight scenes really do it for me 😆.

@@Ostrava6572 The 2018 God of War had damage sponge enemies, very limited combat moves (where have all the combos gone?), redundant rpg loot elements (many were pointless), small areas & tight corridors with invisible walls (the original trilogy crushed it in terms of scope & pacing). No platforming either & "puzzles" which were simply chest rune puzzles or dependent on a metroidvania style "find new gear to unlock stuff".
It was absolutely not a masterpiece & the bombardment of praise that game received (& its seemingly samey sequel) is way over the top & a little bit forced.
@@Ostrava6572 I'm not judging it based on the clips, I'm judging it based on the fact it looks exactly like the first game and the first game was super boring to me. I tried to play it on two separate occasions and got bored and gave up both times around the same point 5 hours in. There's just not much to it. It's a very linear single player story game but the story isn't very interesting.
@@Dogtles if you don’t think the story is interesting, the that is personal preference and you are able to have your opinion. But to most people this is one of the best stories ever told in video games. And if you can’t understand why people would think that, then I would like to know what games you think have a better story. (There are definitely some games with a better story but not many at all imo)
I was not a fan of the 2018 GOW, didn't like the combat all that much, side content was meh, the game just didn't clicked for me, literally only finished the story because Ragnarok was coming.
And let me tell you.... This game has got me, it's faster and a better game overall.
I did expect a "full blown sequel" instead we got more of the same but a lot better.
Got a few hours in today and until now it's been great.
It's decent but it's not close as good as the classic ones though. Kratos is soft nowadays and his son is picking flowers, and how about that squirrel. It's just way too pc like most of them modern games. Remember when Kratos just burned a whole village to the ground. That's God of war for you

I find giving more than 85/100 to this game is an insult. I've never hated a game as much as this, and that's all only for the damn ending. Since the first half of the game, the quality starts to decrease slightly, but nothing really bad. But goddamn, the Ragnarok couldn't have been worse and the script, the characters and the bossfights are as bad as they could ever be

Games Dumpster fire... Enemy glitch into the walls. Framerate drops like crazy. It's a glorified walking simulator. Gorham Knights is much more enjoyable with better Combat Mechanics! God Of War is a solid 5/10. I've beat it 100% and was worst experience of my life!

If only after getting the Platinum I deleted. Worse 40 hrs of my life. The PS2 and PS3 games were 10/10 2018 and Ragnarok 5/10! It's basically Lord Of Thr Rings deleted scenes slapped into a 20hr game!
@@Ostrava6572 honestly i agree with OP, boss fights are way too scripted some of em only have a few attacks that are easily avoidable, story does its job fine but really isnt anything we havnt seen a thousand times. GOW shouldve ended after 3

The health bars kinda make the game unrealistic for me. The Arkham games never had health bars. 0/10
A) yeah, it sucks when the god simulator where you beat the crap out of centaurs and chill with Odin is unrealistic. and B) those health bars can usually be turned off
