- For 30 years, the mystery over who killed four teenagers has remained unsolved. Detective John Jones with the Austin, Texas Police Department was on duty that night in 1991. The images of what he saw that night still haunt him. Male DNA found at the crime scene was tested in 2017 but wasn’t enough to determine a match. Now, forensic experts are hoping better technology could identify the sample. Tune in CBS’ "48 Hours" on Saturday for the full story.

I watched a documentary about this on 48 Hours Mystery about 6/7 years ago, and it’s stuck with me ever since. It was so cruel and horrific, it truly upsets me that over 3 decades later the case remains unsolved. I hope justice is served real soon!
The killer is probably dead now or just old
I don't know how such little DNA could have been found. It was a quadruple murder! Surely investigators preserved everything (the girls clothing especially) so I am baffled how only a smidgen could be obtained even as late as 2017.

DNA is cracking alot of cold cases from the past. The Golden State Killer was a big one, and there's plenty of others being solved. Hopefully the girls get justice, as do the many victims whose killers have yet to face up to their crimes.

Jennifer and Sarah were sisters, so imagine how much the parents suffered with the loss of not 1 but 2 daughters on the same night, possibly their only children. :(

There’s no closure. Ever.
Two at work, the other two stopped by. Two of the victims were sisters, so their parents had two children to bury. Some of the victims were raped. One of the worst unsolved crime stories in US history.

What I'm saying is that the police probably is dealing with this person on a regular basis and doesn't know that he is the one that committed these murders
It's awesome that they can crack the case this many years after it happened.... but at the same time really sad. because you know that the killer has just been living their life ever since it happened

This is so cruel, there is still a lot of cold cases that have been going on for years still yet to be solved. I hope they find the killer.
I lived right down the road from this yogurt shop and had gone their the night before to get me and my husband some yogurt. I was in total shock when I watched the news and saw the report on this,I cried. They need to find the guys who did this......its way past time.

This is similar to the February 10, 1990 La Cruces bowling alley massacre that left 4 dead, including 3 children and 3 others injured. No one was ever caught for the murders.
I remember being 16 and enjoying life and this kind of thing just breaks my heart😥
I heard about this story last year when I was binge watching true crime videos on RUclips. I recommend people watch videos on this case for more detail. At first they thought they were responding to a fire so firefighters went in first and put the fire out and one of them stepped on one of the girls and they basically unknowingly washed/disrupted a crime scene

Thirty years their families have lived without their loved one ( OR justice). Unspeakable. Praying for them even after all these years.
I remembered this case, I believed it was shown on America's Most Wanted during the 90s or 2000s. Of all the cold cases, this one stuck out and made me remembered this unsolved murder case for a long time because of the gruesome nature of the 4 girls murdered and their bodies burned. I can imagine how the victims' families felt.

I remember this case. I always thought they were killed because the thief was recognized by the girls, so he killed them.
No, this was planned far past that point. Some girls were raped, all were executed with bullets to the head, and the place torched. This was premeditated.

I feel like if they ever do find out the killer, its someone that was caught doing another heinous crime and may already be locked up or died in prison.

If there's DNA found in the evidence now maybe familiar DNA could help. This is one of the most frustrating case, so much that I usually avoid stuff about it.

Me and my parents would always drive past that building on the way to their work and the grocery store. until I was 14 I had not clue about it and even tho I wasn’t alive back then, the fact that we live so close to where it happened is crazy

The killer executed four teens - two of whom were sisters - then torched the place. Two people were later arrested and convicted, but they were obviously innocent, and the convictions overturned.
Some were raped too
My mom was best friends with Amy, she was actually supposed to be there that night too they were going to go to a party after but my mom had gotten grounded and couldn't go. She told me about how she was in her room and her mom called her downstairs and she saw what happened on the news. It's so tragic and just scary to think I wouldn't be here today if my mom hadn't got grounded.
