- Rich, rugged and resilient, Port Hardy is located at the Northern tip of Vancouver Island and is the gateway to an authentic, unspoiled, nature-driven adventure. Located within the traditional territory of the Kwakiutl First Nation and home to two neighbouring First Nations bands, the Quatsino and Gwa’sala- ‘Nakwaxda’xw, Port Hardy and the surrounding area is rich in tradition and deep-rooted in culture. Totems and big houses stand tall and weathered throughout Port Hardy and the neighbouring community of Fort Rupert, telling of the Indigenous history that began over 8,000 years ago.
Visit Port Hardy and connect with nature in ways you didn’t anticipate.

Thanks for letting me put this together for you friends and thanks to all the people involved to make this happen!
Such a beautiful place! Lived up in Holberg for 3 years and seen some of the most magical forests and beaches. I want to go back....
It's a very beautiful town. I am from Toronto. I hope to one day be able to visit Port Hardy! 😄
Nature at its best and this video beautifully illustrates a glimpse of all there is to explore. We stayed in the Port Hardy Ecoscape cabins shown here on one of our visits … a great stay!
Glad you enjoyed your stay here on the North Island!
Beautiful!
Thank you! We love our small town
I'm thinking about moving to port hardy and landing a job at the Port hardy hospital or a restaurant job, i'm tired of living in a concrete jungle in Victoria, I've been a wild child all my life i need a lot of nature around me... I'll get a job and hope to find a place to rent or something in the next year or two. Pack my things on my bike and start the 513km bike ride once i land a job out there.
WOW! this is the first time I've heard someone describe Victoria as a concrete jungle! What would you consider Toronto then? :D
This place is driving me crazy
