i got custom edition weeks ago i tried a random cd key from a old video on how to install the game and it somehow worked and i also use the Universal ui for the main menu

Ye that works, you just need to apply the Halo PC 1.0.10 patch so that it dosent crash, and that your PC has Direct X 9
