That's why I was disappointed. Cultured thug often acts way too friendly and agreeable in debates, there was many points where he should have hit back hard, but he ended up just tip toeing around destiny's sensibilities.
When Destiny goes on a naïve rant where he equates the public good with economic growth, you need to slap him down hard. The economy growing is not a good thing if the money ends up in the hands of a few, especially because those people demonstrably shouldn't have power because their actions show that they are more than willing to sacrifice the public good for their own aspirations of power. Having the nation ran by a few oligarchs that sell out their own nation for personal gain, is a terrible thing, but it's what you get when the system is set up to not only tolerate, but legitimize that sort of thing. They will just keep accumulating more money and power by stabbing the people in the back until the people MAKE them unable to do so.

In the case of your own comment, "focusing" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. What does it mean to focus on one's own nation above any other? What does it mean to "return to the nation"? How is America doomed without doing so?

While corporate media is responsible to shareholders and to the public to develop trust (as its target demographic is much wider than alternative media), it is far harder to get away with outright lies or misinformation than alternative media, which can pander to an a more specific audience's confirmation bias. It's much harder to get away with misinformation or outright lies when your audience is far more diverse (not just in typical demographics, but in views as well). There is also a much higher standard of journalistic integrity and far greater consequences for producing outright falsehoods, whereas in most alternative media, there are absolutely no consequences for lying as long as you're telling your audience exactly what they want to hear.

My teacher also brought voter registration forms for us to register if we so choose. So, I got into politics a little. OWS was actually one of the moments where I realized how politically impotent and inept the left was in this country. They had so much potential and momentum then and they didnt use any of it to push for specific policies or candidates to get into office, they didn't have any real plan or solutions or top-down organization. The USSR had greater economic growth than the USA from 1946-1980s. It absolutely works. I was a right libertarian, which required me to be completely ignorant of economic history in the USA. Destiny and many liberals beleive the big lie, that all of the problems we find ourselves in is an organic result. Whether it be the death of unions to pur border crisis. Few actors in the past shaped the country to bring about these issues, and a few people benefit from them so they keep the issues ongoing. "One Nation Under Blackmail" by Whitney Web, is an incredible book, that details the connections of intelligence, organized crime, big business, and government. Reading it will give anyone a stronger understanding of who the problem is and how to solve it.

"Americans charge more for labor, so sending manufacturing overseas lowers the costs." Yes, this also lowers wages, and a country with higher wages can afford to buy more things. Liberalism ie Individualism Is also a huge driving force for inflation. The cost of goods is at an all time high. Simultaneously, so are the profits of these corporations. Few individuals are benefiting at the expense of the nation. These company executives stabbed their fellow countrymen in the back during a crisis, but under liberalism this is totally allowed and ethical.

It seems like what you're describing is corporatism when certain business conglomerates are manipulating the capitalist market economy for their own financial benefits ( via unlimited corporate PAC donations and unlimited super PAC donations ). This particular issue can be solved by having particular legislation that would ban super PACs with also at least strongly limiting donations from any political action committee group. Inflation would be much less likely of a thing if we stop printing money from the Federal Reserve. Not to mention inflation would be much less of a thing If if the US government did things that would strengthening market competition by having an antitrust bust of business conglomerates ( while strongly enforcing antitrust laws from here on out ) with also not over regulating the economy that would help smaller businesses and startup businesses to compete in the market.
Liberalism by its meaning ( before it got hijacked by progressives that's obsessed with virtue signaling ) is supporting things like private property, market economies, individual rights ( which include civil rights, body autonomy rights, and of course constitutional rights ), democratic republics / representative democracies, personal freedom within the rule of law, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, and the separation of church and state.

It is harder to regulate healthcare and education amongst larger populations, but the way people present it is as though it’s an impossibility. Fascism was never right-wing to begin with, it's born from syndicalism.
Mussolini quotes, many after he became a fascist........
"Marx was the greatest of all theorists of socialism."
"Socialism has to remain a terrifying and a majestic thing. If we follow this line, we shall be able to face our enemies."
"The law of socialism is that of the desert: a tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye. Socialism is a rude and bitter truth, which was born in the conflict of opposing forces and in violence. Socialism is war, and woe to those who are cowardly in war. They will be defeated."
"The root of our psychological weakness was this: We socialists have never examined the problems of nations. The International was never concerned with it. The International is dead, paralyzed by events. Ten million proletarians are today on the battlefield."
"You cannot get rid of me because I am and always will be a socialist. You hate me because you still love me."
"Do not believe, even for a moment, that by stripping me of my membership card you do the same to my Socialist beliefs, nor that you would restrain me of continuing to work in favor of Socialism and of the Revolution"
"Lenin is an artist who has worked men, as other artists have worked marble or metals. But men are harder than stone and less malleable than iron. There is no masterpiece. The artist has failed. The task was superior to his capacities."
"I know the Communists. I know them because some of them are my children"
"I shall defend this pact with all my strength, and if Fascism does not follow me in collaboration with the Socialists, at least no one can force me to follow Fascism."
"Standing by me and helping my work as newspaper man were the Fascisti. They were composed of revolutionary spirits who believed in intervention. They were youths-the students of the universities, the socialist syndicalists-destroying faith in Karl Marx by their ideals."
"It was inevitable that I should become a Socialist ultra, a Blanquist, indeed a communist. I carried about a medallion with Marx’s head on it in my pocket. I think I regarded it as a sort of talisman. Marx had a profound critical intelligence and was in some sense even a prophet."
"I never felt that there was any conflict between my military duties and my Socialism. Why should not a good soldier be also a fighter in the class war?"
"Italy is not a capitalist country according to the meaning now conventionally assigned to that term."
"Three-fourths of the Italian economy, industrial and agricultural, is in the hands of the state. And if I dare to introduce to Italy state capitalism or state socialism, which is the reverse side of the medal, I will have the necessary subjective and objective conditions to do it."
"It is no longer an economy aiming at individual profit, but economy concerned with collective interest."
"When the war is over, in the world's social revolution that will be followed by a more equitable distribution of the earth's riches, due account must be kept of the sacrifices and of the discipline maintained by the Italian workers. The Fascist revolution will make another decisive step to shorten social distances."
"Some still ask of us: what do you want? We answer with three words that summon up our entire program. Here they are…Italy, Republic, Socialization. . .Socialization is no other than the implantation of Italian Socialism"
"For this I have been and am a socialist. The accusation of inconsistency has no foundation. My conduct has always been straight in the sense of looking at the substance of things and not to the form. I adapted socialisticamente to reality. As the evolution of society belied many of the prophecies of Marx, the true socialism folded from possible to probable. The only feasible socialism socialisticamente is corporatism, confluence, balance and justice interests compared to the collective interest."
"I owe most to Georges Sorel. This master of syndicalism by his rough theories of revolutionary tactics has contributed most to form the discipline, energy and power of the fascist cohorts."

I’m kinda disappointed Destiny is still repeating those right wing talking points about medical innovation and private healthcare systems. Just because the US has the highest quantity of patents on new drugs and medical devices doesn’t exactly translate to the quality of those innovations. If you are innovating in the field of weight loss and penis pills that isn’t exactly the same as a new Alzheimer’s drug. The newest Alzheimer’s drug approved came from Switzerland for instance. The first HIV vaccine was made in Canada and is beginning clinical trials now.
There are real incentives for universal healthcare systems(UHS) to innovate when it comes to debilitating and degenerative diseases, as the healthcare system will have to support those sick people instead of just letting them go bankrupt and die. So UHS’s have to innovate in order to save money. A side effect is that more people stay healthy longer. With a for profit healthcare system(PHS) there are incentives to innovate to treat symptoms but not diseases. As in a PHS something that reduces symptoms 80%, needs to be taken daily and can be charged more for will be selectively innovated over something that eliminates the disease, needs only a short regiment and can be charged for as mush or less than the alternative.
In a UHS the incentives is to innovate to save money by eliminating diseases. In a PHS the incentives are to make as much profit as possible while creating products that hopefully don’t hurt you more than they help. Speaking as a Canadian, I often see crazy US drug commercial. Yeah, the US has lots of drugs... and the list of side effects for some random constipation drug sounds worse than being a little backed up.
Then there is the facts of the of economy of scale when looking at the innovation in a country of 330 million when compared to 38 million. With a country 10x bigger, the economy and medical industries don’t scale linearly.
Destiny keeps brining up the innovation question in a UHS but seemly has never actually tried to look for an answer. He acts like it’s some defeater or the end of the conversation when it’s only the beginning.

    • @Bingo_Bango_
      @Bingo_Bango_ 2 года назад +2

The US has major obstructions to healthcare innovation due to how understaffed and underfunded the FDA is, but is still easily the leader in medical research. I have no idea what you are even talking about with a few of your points.
For example, the most recent Alzheimer's drug was "discovered" by Switzerland? The trials and research to bring it to market worldwide were performed by an American company with American money in America. Surely the Swiss healthcare system should have performed this research instead, no?
The first HIV vaccine was made in Canada? Do you mean GeoVax from Georgia, AIDSVAX from California, or raltegravir from New Jersey, the pilot substances that the entire field of HIV vaccine research is derivative of?
I see that the UHS incentives are so powerful they are entirely dependent on US businesses swooping in and performing the actual research required to bring a safe and effective drug to market... Drug discovery is cheap. Clinical trials are not.
PS: the fact you hear a "list of side effects" is a sign of how tightly regulated US advertisement of drugs is. Do you think your drug of choice doesn't have rare or unpleasant side effects? What do Canadians use for constipation, are you still stuck with charcoal pills? List a drug you think is great and I'll give you some unpleasant things to worry about. The difference is that US consumers actually know their drugs and the government here ensures that advertisement is honest about the benefits AND risks, as opposed to banning ads wholesale and leaving people ignorant.

To advocate for autocracy yet complaining that you're not getting it is inherently inconsistent, as you yourself advocate for a system of government where you no longer have a say about the course of your country, which is what you're complaining about.

"Forcing" democracy on him is fine, he has absolutely no credibility when complaining that he can't choose. If he forces autocracy on me it infringes on my desire to not have a government forced upon me. Enough with this nonsense pestering logic lord.

@@arnvkv2798 if you force your system unto him, it does infringe him, because it goes against his philosophy and system. But, it's ok if you force your system unto people? But not ok if other force their system unto you? What kind of rubbish is this? If you don't like people forcing their beliefs unto you, then don't do it yourself. You're no different from him whenever you folks wanna implement (force) a system upon the population. Again, you're a walking contradiction.
