Update: I got this grant. I received $500, which I used to set up a home office. My production capabilities have increased by like a zillion. I bought a printer (amzn.to/2rDTL7c) that's optimized for printing color photographs, a professional paper cutter (which is literally one of my favorite possessions now - amzn.to/2r3Hih8) to replace my little plastic scrapbooking cutter, and I experimented with several kinds of paper before landing on a heavier-than-copy-paper-but-lighter-than-cardstock and smooth-but-not-too-glossy, uncoated, bright white paper (amzn.to/2q4An2U) that preserves the qualities I loved about the cheapy originals but steps up the actual look of the content and feel of the book.
