Hi is it ok to still use a Ledger Nano S? The reason I ask is because it no longer supportz firmware updates. Is that a security of functionality risk? Or if I am incorrect please correct me.
If you enjoy using the Nano S, I think it’s worth upgrading to the Nano S Plus at the very least. I wouldn’t say it’s an inherent security risk now, but you may as well upgrade to the latest model.

If I only use this wallet and set it up correctly, what are the chances of ever needing to recall the seed phrase? Just trying to figure out how hard I go with safe keeping the seed phrase. Cheers.
The seed phrase is the most important part of any crypto wallet. It’s not likely that you’ll need to use it unless you lose all your cards or they get damaged. Just make sure to store it in a secure location

Crypto Casey on RUclips says even though you buy a brand new cold storage device, it could already be hacked. I’m not sure how that happens if it does.
The more hands the cold wallet touches before it gets to you the higher chance it has of being hacked before it gets to you. So buying cold wallets from Amazon or a third party website has a higher chance of being hacked than buying straight from the manufacturer. Manufacturers ship straight to you. Amazon items are shipped to multiple different locations before it gets to you giving it a higher chance of one of them people hacking it.
Another good thing to have for cold wallets is that it is open source. You don't wanna put trust in that company because they might steal your crypto through the back door through hidden code
@@sandraromero5899 Not true. Billions of dollars worth of crypto has been stolen just this year. Is everything tracked on the blockchain? Yes. Are there ways to get away with stealing crypto? Yes.

This is a great video, thanks for sharing. When I use your link to go to Tangem, the default offer is for a 3 card set. Can you tell me why I would need more than just one card please?
You need a minimum of two tangem cards to create one wallet as Tangem requires that you have one back up card. If you plan to use a seed phrase option you’re fine getting just two cards if you plan to use Tangem as a seedless wallet go with the three cards so that you have that one additional back up card.

Serious? This is great. I'll but that card wallet immediately... Since the keys are in the cold wallet, where is the crypto then?
@ yep. All crypto lives on the blockchain. Your keys allow you to access and manage your unique address on the blockchain along with your crypto.

Just bought a ledger nano x to store crypto that im keeping and using my phantom wallet to trade some memecoins for fun. Is it safe to transfer my some of my solana to phantom and then trading and when im done sending it back to my cold wallet?
Yes! That’s perfect.
So if my crypto is all on Robinhood, how do I get it to a cold wallet?

I’m using Robin Hood. They have a Wallet called Robin Hood wallet that is very well secured to save your coin.
Hi Alex, loving your insight, extremely easy to follow. I do have a question about the Tangem wallet which I can’t find on their website.
I tried to order a ledger flex when it was announced and to my surprise I could not pay with BTC direct or lightning. There was an option to use some wallet app but come on, are you a true Bitcoin company or not?
Great video! Do you sell Crypto directly from the Tangem app? Or transfer it to an exchange like Coinbase and then sell into Fiat and withdraw?
Both. You can sell certain cryptos directly in the Tangem app straight to your bank or transfer to an external exchange and cash out there.
Is there a difference in fee
@@bram2254some exchanges are cheaper than the wallet exchange fees.
First time watching your channel and I want to thank you because your information is so useful. I love the presentation because it's to the point and direct and easy to understand. ❤
Thanks for the great video, Scrilla. So I recently purchased the Keystone 3 pro. I bought this because you recommended it in a video some months ago. Do you still think this is one of the safest cold wallets? I haven't started using it yet. Also, this will be my first wallet. Thanks!
Yes, it’s a great wallet. It’s just not one i generally recommend to beginners mainly because it doesn’t have its own native app so it can be confusing if you’ve never used a wallet before.
But it’s secure, and I trust it to keep my crypto safe. You should use it. You’ll feel a lot better once you play with it a bit and secure your crypto
Sometimes when i scan my tangem card it says theres an error then i have to do it again. Is this something that has happened to you?
You might be holding it in the wrong place on your phone or not holding it long enough. I don’t have that issue. Also make sure the app is updated.
@@cyberscrilla thank you for the response. It might be that. Do you think that an iphone case can affect the NFC sometimes aswell?
@@raphaelkb8034 Possibly. But I have a thick otterbox case on my iPhone and the card scans without issues. I guess it depends on your iPhone model too. I have the 15 Pro.
I’d try the things I suggested. And if that doesn’t work, try it without your case on just to see if that’s the issue.
Good man. My Nano Ledger has served me well so far.

Hi, do you have tips for digital nomads, hardware selection & security tips ?
Love this topic! I’d HIGHLY recommend getting the Tangem wallet if you’re a digital nomad.
It’s durable, discreet, and extremely secure. They also have the Tangem Ring that’s a cold wallet ring. No charging, no firmware updates, imo the best choice for nomads.
I’ve traveled to various countries with my Tangem wallet and have never been questioned about it as it’s just another card in my wallet.
As for tips: don’t tell anyone your own crypto.
Keep your seed phrase in an inconspicuous place.
Enjoy life.

With Tangem I have a bit of a dilemma, using the seed phrase option is displaying it on the phone and non seed phrase seems like a bad idea in case the company goes under or other potential issues…
It only displays the phrase long enough to write it down. Doesn’t store it on the phone or app.
Im looking at getting the Tangem wallet. But i would like to stake. Would staking introduce any additional scam/theft risk while using Tangem?
No. You can securely stake certain coins within the Tangem app
@cyberscrilla Hmm, forgive my ignorance, but im seeing people express hesitation when it comes to staking on the wallet.. where is this skepticism coming from? I've seen people say it exposes them to malicious contracts. Has Tangem implemented "fixes" for this? Again, sorry for the ignorance. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all. Thank you!
Is it ok to connect Tangem to a Crypto Tax website?

@@cyberscrilla Thanks for the links, i will check out the video's this evening. Really cool
With Trezor or with Tangem can the original wallet (with seedphrase) be accessed even if the passphrase is lost?
Yes, because they’ll original seed phrase is its own wallet. When you add a passphrase to your seed phrase, you create a new wallet. So you won’t be able to access the Passphrase wallet if you lose the Passphrase, but you will be able to access the original seed wallet.
Ive been into crypto for the past 4 years but have always left it on the exchange given I didn't understand wallets. And also do the coins you keep in a cold wallet reflect whatever the current price is on an exchange? Thank you for a very informative video and I will use your link for the tangen.
Yes you can buy and sell from most cold walllets. Or, send back to the exchange to sell.
And yes, crypto always reflects its current value as it lives on the blockchain indefinitely.

How do you handle taxes?
Any suggestions on mobile wallets to use? 😢
Great content as always, thanks!
Thank you for watching!

Exodus 8:1-15:
