What a nice surprise for a rare Sunday update, thank you. Here in Rio Vista, we received .42 inches of rain between 8am yesterday & 8 this morning. Currently dry & must warmer than it's been.
That CNRFC site has so much information and features. I'm watching the water levels around here. I'm in a Flood advisory zone right now West Sonoma County.
Hello from Eastern Plumas County (36 winding mountain miles east of Quincy pop. 2100) where it's been raining nearly non stop for well over the last 24 hrs. Usually we're buried in snow this time of year. Instead it's mudville.
Good morning, Mark and fellow weather watchers as of 9:55 am it's ☁️ and 60° at the Orchard Cottage Weather Center in Oakdale, CA. Dew Point 54°. Humidity 84%. Winds out of the SE at 5 mph . Gusts 10 mph. Barometer 29.82 steady. Morning low 52°. Total rainfall for the storm O.22". Season total as of Feb 1 is 5.36". I have been keeping rainfall data since 7-1-92. We have had 6 seasons with rainfall below 5.50" as of Feb 1. Five of those seasons we finished the season between 11"-12". One season we finished with less than 10". I feel that this year we will finish the season between 11"-12". This will give us 5.50" below our normal 16.22". This will be a dry year for us. Bill
Looks like Feather River basin is a good target for big fires next fall. Gonna have a lot of foliage and downed trees in all these craggy hills. Glad you're healing up, always enjoy your forecasts.
Thank you so much for your "2 a days" and weekend coverage. Im curious about the current thoughts on the snow levels with the Monday night/Tuesday storm. Especially in Tuolumne County.
El Dorado @ 2,000' el. .2" on Friday, 1.6" Saturday and .5" overnight. Total to date 15.8" with about 2.5" since Friday... runoff is good but no local flooding.
Yeah this has been interesting to watch these rain events lately. Here in Tuoulmne county we had rain from Friday afternoon through much of the day on Saturday, but it was light to moderate. The snow levels are running high as Dodge Ridge only got about 3 inches of snow above 7000K feet. If you go on their web cams you will see lots of ground showing all over the base, and mid sections of the resort. Several lifts are not even running. Here in Sonora/Jamestown area we have had 1.62 inches. The news here has hyped it up to be this big bad storm, and flood watches have been up, and still up. Nope, sorry. The creek where I live has come up but nothing even close to a flood stage. We shall see what happens next folks.
This is more accurate because the city where i live in Oakland California and the city where I work at in Fremont hasn't really rained that hard it was just that prolonged light to moderate rain to me this past Saturday like these other newscasters overhyped up how intense the atmospheric river was going to be on Saturday. But that might change come Monday and Tuesday. We shall see though
Interesting enough - this can be considered a normal pattern occurrence for Northern California performing as you forecasted with with out all the FUD some weather personnel have broadcast!
I really wish you would hit the Quincy area a little bit better You do everything around it but never say much about Quincy there's a lot of people up here and nobody wants to do the weather for us. We would all love it if you did it

Thanks for the Sunday weather forecast, Mark!
In modesto we got just a mist for a couple days.
Maybe a slight bit more than a trace from AR.. lol

It be damp out here, Mark. Damp as the dickens
Mark Punxsutawney Phil says we'll have 6 more weeks of winter. Do you think winter will last that long or will we have an early spring 😊
This is why I dislike this day so much

On this day every year a rodent comes out of a hole and thinks its a meteorologist. No wonder it's a bad day for the real professionals.
