In the days when both Semi-Finals were played on the same day at Nutetral grounds , usually on the same day as the Grand National . And there would be one Semi-Final on MOTD on Saturday Night and the other one on the Big Match on the Sunday afternoon . And ONLY the Final was Live
Me and my mate were there on the way home we stopped the car for a pint then a sunderland fan came in and the pub was full and he bought everybody a pint what a day I'm 87 now fantasic day
Absolutely gutted Mc'Clintock was injured, only 5 at the time but I know I would of been broken hearted, because I watched match of the day every Sunday with my Uncle, Alfred the Great, who first took me to see Arsenal the next season, 73-74, he would of had to disown me, if I turned out a Yid, he was playing safe. Good olde Arsenal. My Arsenal died in 2006. 😪 proper commentating, memories ❤
Back before football "Sold out" for money.... It is a DISGRACE what has happened to football. I turned my back on football about 15 Years ago... Over-hyped and over-rated primadonna's getting paid £400,000 a WEEK. 1973.. Real players playing for the pride of their club and the fans were fans and NOT just "Customers"
Should have been a penalty, Malone the stupid cheat, tugging the players shirt so he couldn’t go forward, sometimes I wonder if teams from lower divisions get a bit of a ride, better for the game, variety of teams in the big games.

Here to improve my english. Thanks for sharing these amazing memories.
Fantastic stuff !
Back in the days when the F.A. Cup meant everything for players , managers and the fans !
Thankyou thankyou, for allowing us to see these early 70s Big Match footy years. If only MOTD would do the same.
BBC destroyed all the footage or recorded over it to save money due to having a licence... so not really MoTD's fault some suit at the beeb
Yes!
I was 12 in the big end , what noise , what a day , the cup meant everything then to all teams .
What a player Billy Hughes was .
👍Great.
Brilliant to watch.. great team playing for their manager not money. Montgomery and Hughes were outstanding.. Can't believe this was 50 yearsnafo.
What a day, i was 15, no ticket for this game but got one for final. What another memorable day!

Was at this match with my dad and brothers. Sunderland dominated it. Should have been 3-0 up or more by half time. The Sunderland fans were amazing.

Sunderland got a magnificent result then topped it by beating dirty Don's Leeds Utd in the final!
Great game
classic
I could name at 16/17 of the players that were playing.Ask me who played in the semi of 23 I wouldn't have a clue.
First goal - Halom handball surely!
The famous Blockley back pass. basically Finished him as an Arsenal player
Didn’t make much difference. Sunderland pissed all over them anyway.
@@claymor8241 True enough
Could have been 4-0 by the time George scored.
A potato want to marry Brian More. Her parents said no because he was a commentator.😂😂😂
The days when you didn't need a country to buy your club to buy trophies

17:07.
In the days of real football, footballers TV radio food drink pubs music etc now it's ponced up fairy dairy land of xxxx
Bad mistake by Blockley we really missed McLintock
The music was stupid!
Blimey a last defender makes a rugby tackle on a arsenal player....and only got a yellow. Certainly was a different game then lol
Real football, not fake football. You had real drama then than today's prancing fairies earning a few million a year.
@@seltaeb3302: Perfect poetry.
Aye and the Arsenal player straight back on his feet.
Nowadays he'd be rolling around on the ground screaming like a spoilt toddler.

Even with VAR it would've been a penalty!! Malone would have got a red card if the game was played today!
@@andrewjohnson954 yes, exactly.
