Worked quite well for my Ryzen 5 3600X. Almost a 10 degree drop in temperature (under full load) whilst also gaining a marginal performance boost in Cinebench. Just a couple of notes: - I use an Asus B450-Plus MB. At least for me the LLC settings aren't shown as levels but range from Regular->Extreme. I figured "High" equates to level 3 so went with that. - This might be obvious to everyone but it's not mentioned in this video. You need to have Cinebench R20 installed to the CB20 directory within the CTR directory.
It would be so great if they developed this for APUs as well. Would be great to be able to undervolt my laptop without any performance deficits. Better battery life for free.
Got an 3700x and i think i was pretty lucky. Used the clock tuner and got ccx 1 to 4.325 and ccx 2 to 4.300 and vcore max 1.25, tried prime95 and cb r20 everything seems super stable. My cb r20 score is 5150
I hope they have a "Just undervolt for the same power" setting/switch.I have a 3600 with stock cooler and I want the best performance without overheating.
@@bastianc.8113 I'm not. I'm actually using not very expensive aftermarket air cooling and my temps are 36-39 idle, 55-60 in games, 68-70 in Cinebench. Stock cooler would be worse by about 10 degrees, I think. So pretty manageable.

Great tool, and I'll be sure to test it out! Though I really think you should've tested it with more consumer popular processors, like ryzen 3/5/7/9 instead of threadripper for better results.
I wouldn’t mind if Anthony become my Cortona.
if you considering your self in this fanfiction/roleplay as John 117 it will be... "complicated ...and personal"
Linus heard us a while ago. We said we wanted more Anthony, and LTT delivered!
Anthony is the star of the show!
This sounds great, I was actually planning to undervolt my cpu soon!
yea my ryzen cpu is a 3800x and it jumps between 0.9v to 1.45-1.47v i've even seen it hit 1.5v never has gone above that and ryzen tells me that's perfectly normal but i dont feel comfortable about it i mean im running stock as chip is new and i didn't have time to overclock it and then test it so on and so on this can definitely help

Really though, it'd be nice if you guys keep us updated on how this tool continues to develop, especially if/when it starts adding support for Zen or Zen+ chips
I wouldn't exactly get your hopes up as I saw a tweet from him saying the tool is dependent on the architecture (apparently needs to allow frequency and voltage to be individually adjusted for each core), making it impossible to support zen 1/+ chips.

There's complicated. And then there's *"You Need An Anthony To Complete This Task"* level complicated.
Worked quite well for my Ryzen 5 3600X. Almost a 10 degree drop in temperature (under full load) whilst also gaining a marginal performance boost in Cinebench.
Just a couple of notes:
- I use an Asus B450-Plus MB.

That’s the single beet Linus tech tip I’ve ever heard, amen.
I hope they have a "Just undervolt for the same power" setting/switch.I have a 3600 with stock cooler and I want the best performance without overheating.
My 3600 does 4.2 GHz all-core at 1.15 volts and the thermals after the overclock are 10 degrees cooler than stock with autoboost.
Well, if you set the target frequency at the same level as the one the CPU normally hits, I'm pretty sure it would do exactly that.
@@dexter2392 do you use the stock cooler?
@@bastianc.8113 I'm not. I'm actually using not very expensive aftermarket air cooling and my temps are 36-39 idle, 55-60 in games, 68-70 in Cinebench. Stock cooler would be worse by about 10 degrees, I think. So pretty manageable.
