As someone from South Africa who has not got server to play on for valorant, this is a major issue for us as it now is going to change even the professional scene for us, riot spoke about African based servers and has not even attempted anything in that frame yet, its disappointing how they still to this day have not accommodated us in this time where we have events sponsored by major companies on this game, but we are forced to play on higher ping.... so gg to south africans was a fun time while it lasted :P

yeah. obsoletely love the change... but I saw it coming with all the people complaining about playing against high ping players and getting shot when they aren't supposed to. I've also been called out for spiking my ping and gotten trash talked over something I have no control over
man feel bad for u but technically yll shouldn't have been playing on high ping in the first place...anyways I hope riot impliments african servers soon

ngl I'm exited for smokedancer. I'm a controller main and even tho its not likely going to be a controller (since last agent was a controller and we need more sentinals), I think its gonna have a more controller-ish side to it.
We don't need more sentinels, we need more smokers. Also smokers should be buffed. No one wants to fill smokes so making them OP would fix the scene. They would be beasts in pro scene but who cares? Both teams can pick the same champs so it won't be broken in pro and more people will play smokers in ranked
@@pr3287 bro we literally got 5 controllers, 2 duelists that have controller-like abilities, and a sentinel with a smoke. Harbor just needs to be buffed tbh. And we only have 4 sentinels, one of which only has only ONE sentinal-like ability, and one who is more duelist than sentinal. The only good sentinal we have is Killjoy and she just got severely nerfed. And making smokers OP would completely unbalance the game. I always have smokes on my team, even if I choose not to play a controller.

Smokedancer could be some sort of Anti-Smoke that isn't like a suppress like Kay-O's? Maybe something to see through smokes but that could be a littttle bit broken.

Ping change in itself would be acceptable if they rolled out more servers internationally, however with that NOT being true; this change is pure shit.

They touched the Stinger a lot, that they don't even know how to fit it in in the game anymore
I hate the specter (that point probably isn’t relevant) so I’ve been using the stinger than the specter a lot more also since it’s good. But I doubt damage and price change will change the stinger really since the specter is still worse than the stinger. Now on other rounds where you’re engaging in medium to long range ,players may pick a marshal, bulldog or guardian more, so maybe it will affect the stinger a bit
You're really not supposed to take mid range fights with stinger. Remember when the Bucky was able to take mid range fight? It's the same case here. Guns like the stinger, Bucky and shorty are anti eco weapons. In the right situation, they can turn the tides but again, they're situational. The stinger was cheap and despite losing the pistol, you could still force a stinger and still have enough creds for a rifle and half armour the next round, even if you were to lose your forced stinger buy. It was too op on defense so they had to make changes.

But yes close range is where it shines best, it hasn’t deferred from that strength, and I think this nerf doesn’t effect that too much, so it’s still a good pick but it may not be the best force but option anymore as you pointed out
nope the stinger is genuinely bad now just coz 15m is really short compared to how it seems

@@olz33 it's still good. You can't complain about a shotgun not dealing enough damage in long range right? Cause it's not supposed to fight long range. The stinger nerf did just that. It's not supposed to fight mid and long range. 15m is still pretty good that's why they increased the price so that players don't exploit the gun every eco round. Riot has some pretty weird nerfs but imo this is one of those good nerfs.

for the ping change, i play a lot with some friends on europe and i get 240ms constant and I'll say, everyone complaining about that has NEVER played on real high ping ong. OMG u got killed ONCE when u were behind the wall? We get killed at LEAST 5 times like that in a match, u all fuming if u think ping higher than 120 is an advantage cuz yes he sees u first, but the time the damn 25 bullets he just shot on u register, he got the time to get one tapped without even dealing dmg. Also in high elo (real) high ping is a nightmare, cuz u cant even hold a damn angle without getting one tapped first cuz ur bullets ofc didnt register, so everyone who complains about getting killed a measly once behind a wall are just elo hell hardstuck and putting excuses and blame on everything like "omg he has 60ms and i have 10ms, i lost that fight obviously cuz of ping abuse" get good lol (diamond without playing much comp btw)
Competitive gaming is not meant for high ping. 140ms is still way too big.
There is a reason why there are so many complaints about hit reg in csgo. You should never play on servers that are more than 60ms on average from you.

Smokedancer is probably a duelist? Riot never release agent with same role type back to back, so maybe smokedancer is a duelist that can make short-lasting smoke like jett and play around with the smoke? Well we will probably need to wait more information about it.

It will be a duelist that has ability to watch through smokes...so he can dance through the smokes...

I come from Africa, southern Africa at that, and we don't have our own servers so we are in the EU region and our best ping is on Bahrain where we get 180ms (ON A GOOD DAY!) And we struggle enough on this ping with lag, stuttering and packet loss, now we won't even be able to play at all at this point.
Back to Overwatch I guess
at least in overwatch even with hogh ping you won't feel that much, in val it makes all the difference

i spent 20000 of my currency, there are NO servers that offer less than 170 ping near me. This isnt exactly fair when they dont offer servers in all regions. I live in south africa and there should at least be a server somwhere between here and egypt

I play at 80ms ping from India Punjab .it was a Dumb move by Riot to place the server at mumbai,even fishes and octopuses of sea can have better ping then me (should have placed server in center of country),after update ping stay 1500ms most of the time ,cant play anymore 😞
Ok so stinger deserved to be nerfed. It should not be more versatile than a spectre which was double the cost. The stinger is an smg which are in almost every other game close ranged weapons. I think these nerfs are justified

Smoke dancer doesn't have to be a controller, can be a sort or shadow ability that allows you to get out of sticky situation. Sort of assassin like agent, I think it'll be a duelist

I am from Nigeria and play valorant a lot, so far I peaked at platinum 1 with my 150ping. These changes definitely make the game worse for me and therefore I might need to look for another game to switch over to.

i play on 160 ping , because i live in south africa and we dont have servers so we have to play on Europe servers.
im from Iraq and our connection is really bad we average around 140ms and its very unstable and its always been a disadvantage now this change makes it even worse
Bruh , you have to understand that not everyone has access to nearby servers and are forced to play with high ping.

that's true - players playing on 30-50 fps are experiencing struggles as well. falls kinda into the same category imo.
I could be playing on 12-15 ping (Frankfurt) and decide to play on 25-35 ping (London) to avoid high ping players. 12 ping feels great but I'm more worried about my enemies ping instead of my own.😢

I can imagine a sentinel that uses smokes as a way to hold enemies off, if such an agent were to exist though, I'd imagine that the smoke abilities they'd have would be limited in range, as to not step on the feet of controllers, maybe a viper orb with the trajectory of a phoenix molly? Another controller seems much more likely though
