Yay! I have been a Master Gardener in my county since 2010! I actually made history as the first black Master Gardener in my county. You will love the program! This year I was the chairperson for the shade gardens and proud to say I was in charge of an amazing team! I will keep the position for next year and they gave me the go-ahead to redesign the space if I choose to! How exciting!!!
There is NO WAY that you don’t get accepted into the program! I’m sure the panel loved you and your proposal to bring the master gardener program to RUclips. Happy for you in advance. 👏🏼
I’m so proud of you! ❤️ The Master Gardener Program is an incredible way to learn and grow in many more ways than you’ve ever imagined. Love this for you!!! 🥰
With such enthusiasm, how can they say no! We all need more gardeners who can teach others.....its the way forward to making this world a better place. Crossing fingers and toes.
I'm sure you'll get accepted! I'm currently a Master Gardener trainee and the coursework is definitely in depth and extensive but I'm sure you already know most of it based off of your videos.
Janey, I'm SO excited for you!!! I love your enthusiasm towards life and gardening! Can't wait to find out more about your master gardener's journey!!! 💗🌻
Hi Janey, you will be surprised how much you know already. I live in West Michigan and took the Master Gardeners program with Michigan State. What a fabulous program! Everything is science based, I learned so much and met so many wonderful people. I volunteer at the local extension garden and am so happy I did this, good luck! 🌼🐝
Awesome, You will be an asset to the program. I trained in 2017 in Santa Clara County. It is one of the best things I did, love the organization, meeting more MG’s and being with gardening nerds. The training is intense but the mentors are so supportive and helping. I love working with the public and as a retired teacher getting to provide science based gardening field trips for local schools.
Congratulations Janey. I am so happy for you. You are perfect for a master gardener program as you are brimming over with your love of gardening and you are so clever. This will be a great opportunity to combine both the science of plants, or botany, and the art of creating beautiful garden landscapes. 🌳 Wouldn’t it be lovely if you could help some of your patients by teaching and encouraging them to learn safe ways to do their own garden? 🪴🌷I know from my own personal experience with my autoimmune condition, that gardening helps both the body and mind. It gives you such joy and peace. There is no better place to be than in the garden. 😊🥀🌻🌱🌺🌾
You will love being a Master Gardener! There isn't anything better than being around like minded folks. Some have become my best friends. I've been a member in my county in Texas since 2008. Love your enthusiasm.
Good morning - this is your Master Gardener from the State of Georgia. Great decision you have made to become a Master Gardener. You will definitely enjoy and learn a great deal from the program. You have demonstrated such enthusiasm towards all aspects of gardening. I wish you the best in your endeavors and keep up the good work. Today’s communities needed more individuals like you so wish to share their knowledge without looking for money as a reward. Again, keep up the good work! Talk with you soon. Avon
I am so proud of you for applying to the Master Gardener program! You will learn a lot, but you have been really good at educating yourself about plants and gardening. I cannot imagine how they would not want to a knowledgeable, enthusiastic gardener like yourself in the program. You go girl!
WHOA!!! 💚💚💚💚💚 This is right in your wheelhouse, Janey! That's awesome! Thanks for explaining what the program entails in your area. I was curious about it, actually. So proud of you! You have a ton on your plate!
You will gain so much from and be an asset to the Master Gardener program. I became a MG in 2014 through the University of Missouri Extension. I would encourage others to look into your local/state program. My training was twice a week for about 8 weeks and was offered during the day and of an evening and currently, on-line. My real education began after the classes, when I began working in the gardens and learning along side experienced gardeners. Thankfully, we had no interview for our class of 50 and no test at the end, but a project instead. Happy learning in the garden!
Hi Janey, I'm surprised they didn't invite you to join the program on the spot. You are already sharing your knowledge with your neighbors and subscribers. I'm thrilled for you! 🌼 🌹
I took the Master Gardener classes in Guilford County NC years ago & learned so much! At that time the rules were that the “Master Gardener” title couldn’t be used for profit. I’m sure the rules have changed in all that time & are different in CA too. All county cooperative extension services need to be accessible online so you will be a great asset for the Master Gardener Program. Wishing you the best of luck BUT I’m sure you’ll be accepted. 💜🌿🙏🏻💜🤞🌸💜
Awwww good for you Jayne! I said this before and I will say it again…. You are being BLESSED right now!!! This is Gods plan for you!!! When you start to get stressed or overwhelmed pray to Him for strength… He will see you through this all. 🧡❤️💜💙💚 With God all things are possible! And CONGrATULATIONS!!! You GOT THIS!!!
How cool and exciting!! I am so happy for you, and you will ace this! After meeting you in person and watching your videos, how could they not accept you, especially with 20K subscribers (congratulations!!)?! I remember when you started out, and I knew right away that you were someone special, and I am sure they saw that as well. Like you said, this program is challenging, but you've got this! I considered the program, however I am much too shy to do public presentations, but I am looking forward to you sharing your journey to becoming a Master Gardener.
I’m so happy I stumbled across you, 9B on the other side of US! You are a delight and I wish you the best of luck! It seems your personality is shining even more than a 6 months ago.
I just found and subscribed to your channel. I'm glad I found a channel from the Central Valley. I live in Merced county, about 100 miles south of you and I'm right on the new zone 9A/9B border. So what you do in the garden should be close to what I experience. I was accepted for the Merced county MG program this week and start my classes in January! Now off I go to watch your MG playlist!
Yes 🙌🙌 I’ve been wanting to join the Master Gardener Program. I filled out the application already but my life has been SO busy that I just saved it for later. Maybe next year 😆 I’ve been saying that since 2019. Maybe 2023 will be my year! Can’t wait to follow you on this journey!
I think they would benefit from having you. You would bring a great deal to the group. Just recently our area’s master gardener program has started posting videos of most of their programs they present to the public and I find them very informative. I hope you have a wonderful day.
You will be fine, I was a Master Garden a bunch of us started a program at a hospital and we brought patients out who like to garden,to plant inTo containers built out of wood ,so we could push patients up to it and
You are so sweet and so enthusiastic that I couldn’t keep from smiling back at you through the entire video. You will be such an asset to the Master Gardeners program in California.
Congratulations!!!🍾🎊🎈 I used to want to achieve the Master Gardener certification, but my life was crazy and I never pursued it. My life went another direction, which was ok.
Janey, this is so exciting for you & also for all your followers. We get to learn all about gardening right along with you. What fun! Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇨🇦🌸🪴🌼
Congratulations! I know you’ll be accepted. I’m a Master Gardener here in north central Texas. It’s a great program. I learned so much and made lifelong friends during my five years I was active.
That is so exciting, Janey! I've always thought about becoming a master gardener because a friend's mom was one. You're definitely perfect for it! This is going to be a busy year for you taking the MG class, preparing your new cutting garden, and getting ready for the Pence Garden Tour. I can't wait to hear more about your experience with the MG program.
Hi Janey, I've been interested in becoming a Master Gardener myself so will totally enjoy watching you go through the program. I agree with all the comments, it's a done deal - you're IN!! CONGRATULATIONS
Thank you Heidi! I hope you are right! And you should do it! I'm planning to document everything so you will see if its a good fit for you but I BET it is!!
It's so funny that you mentioned this. I have looked into the Master Gardener program here in Henry County, Indiana which is through a Perdue extension. I am going to start Master Gardener classes myself! I'm so happy for you. Ours is a bit different, we don't have to apply and interview. We just take the classes, get training and then we get our certification; if we pass our final exam to become a Master Gardener. We also have to volunteer so many hours per year as well. I'm excited!
You’ve got this, Janey! I can’t wait to get the official word that you have become a master gardener. You have so much to bring to the program and we all love you. So exciting!!
They will be very blessed to have your enthusiasm, energy and friendliness in the group. Best wishes for your approval process. I was a MG for about 3-4 years. Our teacher let us do an open book test at home for the final test! Everybody passed----- LOL!
Congratulations on your new journey in becoming a Master gardener. So excited to see you doing and becoming something that you are passionate about. Enjoy and Just be yourself. Hopefully this will not interfere with you getting ready for the garden tour. As well not interfering with your bigger flower garden that you just required. I don't want to see you burning yourself out doing so much. I know that you will enjoy what you are doing. Enjoy and my fingers are crossed.
Wow! Early congratulations on even just applying for the program! I'm sure you'll get in. How fun to "know" someone in my zone that is doing this program! Way to go!!!
So excited for you and just a little bit jealous that I don't live in your county! They sound like they will be amazing to work with. I went to an info class to become a MG in my county, but was not impressed in the least with the leadership. I was taken aback by the fact that I would not be able to share my gardening knowledge unless I was in an official volunteer position, unless I didn't mention I was a Master Gardener. Since the program would control my interactions with the gardening community I so want to help learn and grow, I felt that the investment financially and time wise simply wasn't worth it for me. I did purchase the Master Gardener text book that you'll be using and it's awesome and intense! I figured if I can garner some of the same knowledge, I would still be able to make an impact in my community. Good luck and I know you're going to knock 'em dead!
We understand these times after disease came in 🌏 in December 2019 to 2021 Life was very difficult, painful across the 🌏.Your efforts great to teach & explain how to start Gardening, grow vegetables, fruits, herbs. Thanks back to basic 75% Nations love to agriculture, organic
What knowledge you will be able to share with us. Very excited for you. One thing, I do check my plant books before google. Still love looking at a book.
I love how involved you are in your community. I laughed when you mentioned how nervous you were. You are a master gardener dream canidate. Looking forward to you sharing what you will be learning. You go girl!!!🏡🥀🌹🌲😎
I'm so excited for you! I want to do that after I retire too adn am so excited to watch this journey! I agree with Barbara!! There's NO WAY you don't get accepted
Good Luck! I am a Master Gardener in my county. It’s hard because I’m my state (Oregon) I can not use my MG title to earn an income. So I have to be careful to only mention my MG title when I am volunteering for the program. Thankfully I have a degree in horticulture and 15 years of professional experience to lean on without that title. The program has been a good place to talk garden with locals. I hope you enjoy it.

Janey that is wonderful. One of the first friends here in Texas was a Master Gardener. She was so great and knowable. Sadly she passed away several years ago.
That is amazing Janey. My fingers are crossed and saying a prayer for you. You would be an asset to them as you are to us. What a wonderful gardening journey you are on. Xx
Good for you! I completed the MG course in my county in Texas 7 years ago& thoroughly enjoyed it! You’ll be such an asset! Get ready for those volunteer hours!
That's funny...just last night after watching one of your videos I was thinking that you should become a Master Gardener. I also looked into it (Riverside County, CA) but it was just more than I could commit to, not only the process you're starting now, but all the required volunteer hours. I'm sure you will do great!
The girl invited to be on a garden tour, seemingly a famous tour, of course you were invited to interview 😊Congratulations.! My bet is on an early call. I searched YT for the program here in Maryland, and it's here, heading there now.

Totally agree. I honestly feel Jayne is gonna give Laura a run for her money!
I think both ladies have much to offer. Different zones can have different issues.

Haha that you for your confidence in me! I appreciate that!!
I just did my interview here in North Dallas (Collin County) for the Master Gardner Courses. Praying for the acceptance to the program 2024-2025 😮
This is so exciting Janey. Good for you to go for your dreams.
Thank you so much Sydney! I appreciate you saying that!

Congratulations, Janey. They will be lucky to have you!!!!!
Congratulations! You WILL be an awesome MG! Your program sounds very much like mine in Pima County (Tucson, AZ). I remember the anticipation and excitement going through the application process and the semester class. I graduated 2017 and have since been very active. The learning and camaraderie are the best! This year I took on a leadership role as a committee chair and I’ve been struggling with a little bit of burnout. Thank you for this video, it reminded me of why I applied 5 years ago and I feel re-energized and excited again. 😊 🌱 🪴 💚
Hi Janey 🌺l'm happy for you ,you deserve to be eccpted in to the programme .Have abeautiful day.🦋🌺
Oh thank you so much my friend! I'll keep you updated!
Sounds wonderful.
Exciting!! Can’t wait for more videos on your journey 😊
Janey that is wonderful. One of the first friends here in Texas was a Master Gardener. She was so great and knowable. Sadly she passed away several years ago.
Oh Carolyn, that is such a great memory to have! My first master gardener I met was such a lovely person as well!
That is amazing Janey. My fingers are crossed and saying a prayer for you. You would be an asset to them as you are to us. What a wonderful gardening journey you are on. Xx
I am so glad you posted this video. I have been thinking about doing this too!
Right on, Keep up the great work. PS ask what you can write off for your training and education expenses. Tools, plants, soil, travel, 🤞👍
Good for you! I completed the MG course in my county in Texas 7 years ago& thoroughly enjoyed it! You’ll be such an asset! Get ready for those volunteer hours!
That's funny...just last night after watching one of your videos I was thinking that you should become a Master Gardener. I always give you a thumbs up!!! No thumb there today!!
Very exciting video. Fingers crossed for you x
Thank you so much Jayne! I appreciate that!
Good luck Janey. 😊
You'll do great
👏👏👏
The girl invited to be on a garden tour, seemingly a famous tour, of course you were invited to interview 😊Congratulations.! My bet is on an early call. I searched YT for the program here in Maryland, and it's here, heading there now.
Haha I hope you are right Wende!! Yay I'm glad you have a program near you! How fun!
What a great piece of news! Congrats on getting your interview xoxo
Great news Janey!!! Go Janey!
Sounds like exciting things on the horizon !
This is really exciting! It prompted me to look into my local master gardener program. I might apply, we'll have to see.
Awesome!! I interviewed for our Master Gardener program thru the University of Minnesota this year too! Doesn’t it sound amazing?!?
