Shade and engi main here. She's my go to if the going gets tough. I've gotten good enough with her to be able to use the dual daggers effectively, and paired with exquisite huntress really makes it a viable solution with max crit and attack speed, you just turn into an elf-based blender. With this, hungry wind is viable, cause the extra damage is only useful on bosses or if you want to solo a patrol, which doesn't need to happen most of the time. I've found that once you get to a certain point in skill with shade you no longer need to use her ult as much anyways. The only real time I use her ult now is when I get cornered, when I need to walk through a horde to help someone, or when I need to kill a boss, and hungry wind is just as usable for bosses to because of how much damage her daggers do even without the massive spike damage. I love me a good shade main.

Great Video! She looks really fun and I cant wait to take this build for a test drive. Not sure if this is feasible in a timely manner for you but linking a Ranald's Gift build would make it much easier to copy over 1 to 1 for testing and stuff. Just something I thought of after having to bounce around the video to find all the traits and properties. Once again great video keep up to good work!

i love rogue style characters in video games. I've always played one. Glad to see shade is a good pick. Not the fan of the characters first 2 classes but I do enjoy the Sister of Thorns class. Will definitely try out Shade.

Just curious, since I am a noob, what is the "meta build" in short?

Shade is my least played character, i think i completed like 1 veteran run with it back in the day and havent played it since xd
Might give this one a try tho, seems kinda fun
(also, really like the background music)

I just tried this build it’s really good I feel like your a handmaiden that’s on the dps side you are untouchable in the horde plus having the movement speed you’re just running circles in hordes I feel you can swap for cooldown instead of ammo
I still really like this build more than cloak a lot of fun

I must have missed it but going over the video I couldn't seem to find what your recommendations were for the necklace.

Its funny you say that no one runs exploit weakness. While i do like cruelty, and run it on my off build (shimmerstrike, cruelty, sword/dagger, javalin), for my boss/monster killer build, I find that exploit weakness helps me with fighting hordes, and enemies outside of stealth/invis. The 50% critical power bonus is great, but the consistency of the 20% extra damage on bleeded and poisoned foes is much more advantageous against not only the aforementioned monsters/bosses, but also against hordes, as the bleeding from the daggers and the hagbow pretty much guarantees constant 20% extra damage all the time, that will also apply to my critical damage, too. Dumping arrows hagbow with barrage into a monster/boss before using cloak of pain to deliver two massive back stabs is devastating (bonus points if using chainkiller). I love bloodfletcher, and of course in a perfect team I would run chainkiller, but thats not always the case, and getting extra arrows, especially during a horde, is nice. The only difference between us, is the last two perks really, which i use cloak of pain for boss killing, and springheeled assassin because i find it better for my playstyle, and it has synergy with swift slaying.
All in all, exploit weakness vs cruelty comes down to build preferences. If you like consistency, status effects and fast attacks, go exploit weakness. If you like higher damage potential and focused attacks, go cruelty. And none of those are truly mutually exclusive (except exploit weakness and cruelty of course), either.
Cool thing about shade, is its one of those classes where it has a high floor, but high ceiling. Its a difficult class to master, and some of the perks and equipment just don't fit together. BUT, if learned properly, all of the traits (for the most part) and equipment can be used effectively, if paired with the right combinations and playstyles.
Its not just about doing the biggest numbers in damage, its about playing effectively, and then tailoring the traits and equipment to your playstyle effectively.

I get like 4 red volley crossbow, first i hate it but then i understand how to use the volley, it is really good to stack Barrage faster than any other Kerillian range weapon and then with the Cloak of pain finish the monster faster than he spawn
I should try this build but maybe with a glaive in situations where the team need more horde control maybe it could work (it sounds weird to use a shade with glaive yea)

It's really what you're good at and like. Game's balanced enough with range experts being op but ammo reliant.

Actually since there are less bosses in the chaos waste this is somewhat similar to what I have been trying.

When mastering Shade one must first learn to throw it.

Didn’t there use to be a talent that made you invisible for a few seconds after killing an enemy from behind? I feel like I remember this so vividly and you could just eat hordes without them ever looking at you…I miss that.

Vanish, was really pretty ridiculous. The stealth on parry + dodge is still amazing but more balanced imo

0:35 I know this is a Hungry Wind + Exploit Weakness build but as a Shade main it hurts me to watch a shade shooting a boss instead of stabbing him. At that point i rather just play Waystalker.

How does cruelty interact with assassin?

    • @WetMagic
      @WetMagic  Год назад

It definitely stacks on a crit hit, but crits are calculated strangely in verm so I’m not sure if it’s all run through a finesse modifier for the weapon you’re using or if it just stacks additively. Personally I feel as though it is just a small increase in crit dmg.

Shade has been way too strong. With this build, you effectively nerf the shit out of her.
