Fighting a losing battle and then not lose. Dan. 3:16-18. To God be the glory.
1. Deal with personal sin @ 2:20:
- Confess/acknowledge your sins to God.
2. Minimize encumbrances @ 3:24:
- Free up mental & physical bandwidth to prepare;
- This may mean putting off side projects to focus on protecting your family;
- Sometimes protection is greater than provision.
3. Stock up on the Word @ 4:32:
- Store the Word in your heart and mind;
- Sing the Psalms & hymns with others.
4. Meet regularly with God's unmasked people to worship Him @ 5:30:
- I forgot to take notes for this one. But make sure that you're surrounding your families and yourselves with people who cherish God over Ceasar or the government.
5. Do nothing that feeds your fears @ 8:04:
- Do not prepare for trouble in any way that paralyzes you with fear;
- Prepare for victory;
- Incorporate offense into your preparedness strategy, not just defense.
6. Assume a posture of victors @ 8:36:
- Prepare for the time of glory when we'll plant our flag after the battle is won.

I appreciate the glimpse of hope. I'll be 26 at the end of this month and it's been an uphill struggle to find ways to understand what's going on in the world and how I'm going to deal with it. My wife was able to help me see the importance of Christ' prevalence in life. I hope others hear the call, and answer.
26 and married with a Christ-loving wife? You’re in a better position than most brother. Stay in the world and give God thanks for the blessings. And ask Him to bring other blessings to your mind that you don’t even realize you have yet. Happens to me from time to time. Happiness in the Lord is the key to contentment, I believe.
What a blessing a wife like that is. I speak from experience. Mine keeps me level and looking to the Lord as I'm facing a possible job loss due to authoritarian mandates, and a move across the country to a new town with our two younglings. We're fighting a losing battle that we're not going to lose!

Glad to hear you call out pastors who are obeying MEN rather than God.
Sadly, here in the Netherlands, many Reformed churches gave up on worship: No Lord's Supper or Baptism, no singing, face masks, no fellowship, guests not welcome...
We need to repent and turn to GOD.

When he said “get rid of the porn stash or you are siding with Biden” I felt that. We all know that in our heart but hearing it audibly spoken is a breath of fresh air.
That quote you mention is a bit senseless. It's okay to be pithy with the ideas to be communicated but Pr. Doug mixed metaphors, I think. He who has a stash of porn is siding with the Devil.

Before I came to Christ last year, before HE redeemed me, I used to always say that I hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Now with Christ I truly have the Living Hope and no matter what happens I am victorious in Him
I absolutely love this and have on my own begin to make such changes in the last few days. The immediate effect of just 48 hours of reorganizing my life around what is healthy and Christ centered is massive.

Not only do those " evangelicals" who criticized Mac Arthur not want to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, they refuse to give to God what is God's.
They also don't realize that "We the People" are actually "Caesar" and not Congress.....

Unfortunately, JMs kind of Christianity is what led to the issues he had to face. He has been preaching for decades that Christians should not be involved in politics and live quiet lives. Then one day he wakes up to see that the California government is full of godless pagans trying to persecute his church.

I attended an evangelical church for seven years (over 14 years ago). I and many others left these places and landed at reformed and baptist churches. Now we are too evangelical for the reformed and too reformed for the evangelical. It is a happy challenge, but sometimes the vitriol is concerning. The Church ought not to turn on each other. We may need to love one another before this is over.

So glad I watched this again(one year later). What a difference being in the Word daily has made, undoubtedly the catalyst/motivation for the other tasks on this list.
Being honest with God about your sin is a great thing and He will bless you for it. Two years ago, I was laid off from a high paying job. I had to take a job I didn't like for half the pay. I constantly thanked Him for this job... but it wasn't true.
One day, I told Him "I'm not grateful to you for this job. I know I should truly be, but I'm not. I haven't been honest with you about it and I'm sorry. Please give me patience and make me a grateful person." Not long after, I was offered a different opportunity at the same company. I loved the new job, and not long after that, I was made head of that department. I love it more than any job I've had and don't even miss my previous job or the high pay.
Grounded wisdom and instruction. This needs to be shared everywhere.

My old church’s preacher is an excellent expositor of the word, but I won’t call him a pastor. He shut the church, masked his members, and told all of us under the liberty of our God and savior that we had a disobedient spirit. I have been through so much with this church, but this broke me. I go to a church now where I do not leave with the same ‘sermon glow,’ but they let me and my sons through the door to sit, pray, and worship in community.
I pastor a church and it’s verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book, exposition of Gods Word every Sunday. I never closed the church, never will, it’s nonnegotiable. Find a new church. Because harder days are ahead, and if he closed the doors then, he certainly will when it gets really hard and you need a real pastor during that time

A look at the interwoven history of measles outbreaks and church congregations would support your old preacher.. mixing infectious disease, vaccine refusal and large indoor gatherings isn't historically beneficial to communities! Sorry to hear you've lost that post-sermon afterglow
Thanks Doug. I needed to hear the encouragement about preparing to be victorious instead of letting my physical preparations be a manifestation of my fears.
I've been preparing as best I can for my family. Every corner is being blocked along the way. I am being specifically targeted as a Christian, and I am placing all my faith where it belongs, in Him. He will provide a way for me, but I put this comment to ask for prayers for family if anyone sees this can offer them. We thank you all in advance and God bless you all. I pray everyone who needs Him finds Him and have His light in their life.

Now that takes a level of maturity that I found refreshing and watching he and RC Sproul labor together for the Gospel. God bless you Brother!
Of course! I've found MacArthur to be helpful on many issues even though I disagree with his dispensationalism and his take on baptism. MacArthur and Sproul appeared together at many events and seemed to have a great relationship despite their differences. Mature Christians ought to be able to heatedly and passionately debate their differences and still at the end of the day embrace each other as brothers in Christ.
Unfortunately these days, there is a wicked belief that we ought to completely reject anyone who doesn't agree with us on every minute detail. It was funny when it was leftists eating their own, but that belief crept into the church and is now causing division at a time when we especially need unity. That has never been the Biblical way.
Media focus on people prepping for the apocalypse, which is a bit irrational, but it seems to me that generally, trying to be ready for hard times shouldn't be conflated with surrender. Of the Church as a whole is ready and capable to deal with emergency, then it seems to me it is much easier to advance in the emergency.

Hello Mr. Wilson,
I am a joyful reader of the canon press corpus and listener to the various Christ Church’s Authors on RUclips. While striving to be reformed and reform my family and church community I stumbled upon the fact that at Christ Church the whole family seems to attend the Sunday service. This practice is very foreign to the church I live in, but a beautiful sight and practice. Are there any resources on the principles behind this practice and advice for practice application?

Love John MacArthur but he was a late comer to the stand against the closing of the church. There were hundreds of churches that never once closed their door and took the same stand based on the same principles. At first Grace community church closed and the Elders communicated their disagreement with those churches that stayed open. Now to GCC and MacArthurs credit, once they made it right they became a great leader in resisting for other churches
I was actually surprised when MacArthur stood up. He has always held Romans 13 in a way that gives way too broad authority to the state, so his earlier position was consistent with that. MacArthur has always struck me as willing to listen to people that he disagrees with. I wonder if these changing times have given him a new perspective on what Paul and Peter really meant and why the apostles that wrote about submitting to the government did things that got them arrested.
@@oracleoftroy Good observation: I would say that Pastor Mac. is more balanced today about Romans 13 then he was in his former teaching of it.
Brother Larry, are you saying hundreds of churches stayed open in LA area in California? I believe that it matters some and I give JMac lots of leeway in this for that reason, especially when it was a brief time of closing to assess the truth of the “pandemic”.
@@skipsmominhouston yes sir. First of all I highly respect John MacArthur. Let me just say this if you look at his reasons for staying open as stated by the elder board of the church, those very reasons would Have kept them from closing even if the situation was dire. He said it was not the authority of those in the church to close down the assembly of God’s people. As for churches in Southern California and the LA basin, yes there were many churches that stayed open, including mine. I am an IFB church and as far as I know only one IFB Church closed down. I know of 12 churches in Simi Valley alone that never closed their doors, 16 of them in the inland empire and the list goes on. As for John MacArthur once he got on the bandwagon he truly did become a leader to help many other pastors continue the fight as well as other pastors to make a correction in their direction

How about publishing a Biblical statement that may be included in an official request for religious exemption. One that invokes the spirit of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and makes an appeal to the Gospel of Christ Jesus and finishes up with an empationed call to repentance.
Coming from your pen, I think it would go a long way towards making an impact for Christ...even if I still lose my job.
