Wait a minute, my pastor wears skinny jeans, is in his later 30’s and has a spine like steel! A bunch of people left the church about him not want women to preach there.
This is the first reference to cultural Gynocentrism that I have heard on a Christian channel. Unfortunately one must be truly brave to to be willing to do this.
Yes! We left our church a few months ago and this was the main underlying problem that lead to all the other visual problems... other than private conversations with my friends I have not seen it addressed or even mentioned elsewhere! I am surprised Doug pointed this specific issue out. Makes me curious if it’s more common than I thought.
@@alohasparkles I've been an Evangelical pastor for 40 years and as gynocentrisn has gotten more prevalent in society, the more reticent pastors have become to confront this huge issue.

If you're looking for church health, just glance around. How are the young women dressed? How many older women are present without a spouse? How many young people are attending?
I was everyone's spiritual super- hero until I quoted Doug Wilson in a sermon; and the entire female part of the congregation turned on their ice rays.... ;-)
You'll either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I think this is especially true for a pastor with a spine. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
As a Christian man who is both a husband and father, I must suggest the first one to get (and maintain!) a "spine" needs to be the man in a family's life. The indwelling, abiding Holy Spirit must be sufficient "spine" for me. In addition, as regarding supportive fellowship, an assurance from my Lord Himself: "Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them."
Based. So many medusas out there. The fear comes from them Predetermining your guilt, which stems from pride; an unwillingness to reconsider their own identity.
@@terrancenewman9776 A modern analogy could be toxic femininity, where empathy goes too far to the point when it becomes partiality. E.g. lifting up the victim and predetermining guilt of the offender. And because of pride, when you point out the flaws, and not affirm their perceived injustice or worldview, they turn into medusas. Pride can't reconsider it's identity and say "maybe I'm wrong." With pride you get cynical things like "you don't really care", "I know what you really think." Etc. It's not just women who do these things, pride is everywhere. But women def have social clout right now. When you refuse to look inward, you necessarily have to deem the problem external. The world is wrong, not me.
@@bradspitt3896 Wow. So I'm not crazy. I have noticed this pattern for years not just in the church but in the culture. Unfortunately, the culture has been influencing the church rather than the church influencing the culture. I'm currently struggling with this in my own church because there have been numerous occasions where the pastor has exalted women in the bible and in turn the women in the church felt "empowered." In the same turn he belittles the men. "Empowerment" at the expense of others is suspect to me. The most common scenario he uses is The Crucifixion. He often says "the men deserted Jesus, but the women stayed by his side." It always gets a nice applause from the women. From what I have been observing, it is all too easy to beat up on the men but when the same level of accountability should be held toward the women they seem to be "off-limits." I am considering leaving the church but I will pray about it first and see if that is what God wants me to do.
@@terrancenewman9776 Well at least now you can prove you're not crazy. Predetermined guilt might be the biggest issue right now. And it's harder to deal with because empathy is driving it. You have to start with pointing out that their empathy is ACTUALLY partiality.
"Happy wife, Happy life" is destroying many marriages... It should be "Happy spouse, Happy house" because a good marriage consists of two Happy people.
I couldn't agree more. More women are craving this kind of leadership than we realize and we shouldn't be afraid to "go there" in the pulpit. Before I repented, I first heard this kind of language in Jordan Peterson's words to young men about taking up responsibility, which hit home for me. Not having any leadership growing up, I was starved of it, and unknowlingly searching out someone to affirm this primal need for strong responsibility to/ of the sexes as well as my own value as a person. That put me on the trajectory toward God and I'm so grateful for a clear voice like Doug's to guide us young believers back into community with other believers.
As a believer of trinity God, Jesus’ deity and, inerrancy of the Bible, I agree with everything what he says in here. God made Adam with subduing power on God’s creation and Eve as a helper. We, women should submit to the men. Men should love their wives as the Christ loved His church. Remember, ladies, Christ sacrificed Himself for the church(His people).
This is one of the big problems in the church. It seems most pastors are literally afraid of the women in the congregation so they avoid preaching on passages that address women. The classic example is how all the "stops" are pulled out for Mother's Day and nothing bad or challenging can be said about or to women. Meanwhile, on Father's Day--if it is even celebrated--it becomes a beat-up on men day, chastising them for failing to be "spiritual leaders" or admonishing them to "get their act together." This has gotten so bad that men sense they are being dishonored in front of their families.
You're right ! most pastors are afraid of the women in their churches and will not preach on any passage that even suggests women can be just as bad sinners as men, and especially they can be and are rebellious and want to control everything.
One of the primary issues with my now-former church, was the elevating of females to the eldership. I gave the leadership a strong rebuke, told them they need to repent. Why did it take a woman to point out this folly? 😒🙄
My now former church created the deacon team which was almost exclusively staffed by women in an attempt to appease the feminist who were trying to become elders
Yep. Having this very problem. Just left a church that only mentioned sin in the context of it being forgiven. We weren't challenged. We weren't convicted. All likely due to the doctrine of eternal security. Wrote the pastor a letter and left. I've been looking around in the area only to find churches with women as head pastors, or "non-discriminatory" churches where they don't care what your gender identity or sexual orientation is. Well, God cares! I legit started crying because I can't find anyone honoring God and the full counsel of His word. There isn't a lampstand to be found! The country is looking more and more like Isaiah 3 every day.
@@joem1633 Nope. We are saved by grace through faith, but faith results in obedience and the pursuit of holiness without which no man shall see God. Everyone else seems to throw a hissy fit when you bring that up.
I agree 100%. I would only add ‘please make sure you are actually dealing with feminists before you treat them like feminist. My concern is that good, godly women are being dismissed as feminists when they have a concern or question. We are all called to be bereans and as such the women, just like the men, should be able to question their Elders and men in the church when they have a concern. I know I might sound silly but I think mans tendency is to just write off women and call them feminists so that they don’t have to deal with the issues.
I haven’t been a part of this pettiness role-playing in churches. Men still rule and have more status in church than women. Ask any woman who is single, divorced, or widowed.
The good thing about Wilson's advice is that you don't have to decide ahead of time who the feminists are or "treat them like feminists." If you preach in a way that includes things that bring conviction to the women about their own sins, it doesn't matter who you think they are, it will deal with their issues. He's not saying "preach against feminism" or "call out the women for being feminists." He's saying preach against the sins that particularly afflict and tempt women while acknowledging that women in general do have these temptations, and you'll soon find out who wants to repent and get rid of their sins and who doesn't want to hear the Word when it calls them out personally.
As a born again believer of 33 yrs, gloriously saved, I agree, I have warned men about how the women are taking over. I also went to womens prayer groups but noticed subtle changes creeping in. Then it became womens bible studies and I noticed how some were undermining the mens authority. Then they got up on the platform and starting preaching and I knew then that this would lead to the emancipation of the biblical Male pastor, teacher. Over the last couple of decades it has got much worse. Now the women don't want to be the helpmate, they want to be in control. The Word says, in the last days, the women and the children will rule over them. How will the Lord see you, personally!! Think about it!! This comes from a 76 yr old women.
Btw, this didn't mean ALL women, there are some precious godly women all over the world who recognise what is going on. May our Lord continue to bless them.
I heard the gospel in 2020 and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I have never touched religion nor Christianity. Maybe the closes was satanic religion. I am 29 and I'm longing after a church that has strong male pastor leaders but all I've been meet with is female pastors and confusing stuff like talk all the time about Jesus and love love Jesus love. I don't get why nobody preach about this because we're many headed that way .
That was so well said Doug and true from what I’ve seen. I also greatly appreciate your forethought and recognition that the tides will turn in future decades where masculinity will regain dominance and need to be properly counseled. Thank you for sharing.
I attend a church where they are in ‘vacancy’. That is to say we have no preacher at this time. At the moment-mostly women will read a sermon from preachers who have posted their sermons on public domains. There is no actual ‘preaching’. No church growth - the same old tied uninspired faces turn up each week and some people then wonder why the old church is not growing. It’s because the word of God is not being preached. I wonder if a pastor would make any difference? The last pastor ‘retired’ and was burnt out by the demands of the congregation. I always thought that if you were truly called by God to preach - you would preach his word to your last breath. I suppose he was what the scriptures refer to as a ‘hireling’. He was just working a ‘job’. I pray the next pastor will have a spine and preach the word as it should be preached. MARANATHA AMEN🙏🤷🏽♂️
Wow. In my congregation men can do better, and women are wonderful. In my seventeen years as a member, not one sermon or Sunday school lesson has ever addressed feminine sin, or any of the particular sins women commit. Yet the Bible says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23). In my reformed Presbyterian church, only men have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. Our culture is "gynocentric", and so is my congregation. Really.
Again, I couldnt agree more with what Doug is saying here but it seems like since so many men have abdicated their responsibility in the home and in society that we need preached to the most. Can Doug elaborate on this video in another video? Thanks.
The problem in many churches is indifference in leadership. You simply cannot present arguments or reason from the Scriptures. All the arguments, letters, meetings, counseling, and conversation will have no effect if the leader doesn't care or believe it is relevant. Nothing will be applied that doesn't matter or is viewed as unimportant. In this environment, there are very few controversial topics that the Gospel can address. We are told that the Gospel is about eternity. The church is seen as a kind of "Hospice" where we go to have fellowship until we die, and are "Ushered in to eternity" (as many pastors view the role of the Church). Today's churches avoid topics that they believe to be "Political". They believe that the Church cannot speak authoritatively on these "Jagged" issues. The question, "How should we then live" cannot be answered by Christians. Issues relevant to our lives are off limits. This means that the sins that are likely to be committed by the congregation are never addressed. How does the Gospel apply to trial by media as opposed to Biblical due process? How do we view perjury? Is Critical Race Theory a "Biblical Model" or is it just an outbreaking of pure evil? What forces in our culture encourage divorce? Is abortion a controversial "Political Issue" or is it hateful murder on the alter of convenience? Why is pornography wrong? Should we affirm transgender people who were "Assigned" the wrong gender? Has science disproved the Bible? Should pastors send difficult cases of depression to the "Professionals" or "Experts" outside the faith. Should we send our kids to public schools as "Salt and Light". Should we stand with modern national Israel to curry favor with God? These key issues baffle the church because they make decisions based on the least resistance, rather than on the authority of God's word. Grow a spine or die. (Rev 3:1-4)

When my wife said she worked, and that I was a stay-at-home father, the pastor's wife literally walked off. We were floored. Wow. @@firstcenturychristianity6864 I don't think this is satire. It is surprising how many Protestants not only think that women can't lead a congregation as a pastor, but that men are supposed to be the head of a family and be the breadwinner.
@@kentfrederick8929 Wow. From a biblical worldview, neither are acceptable and a woman pastor is at least unbiblical if not an abomination before God. The pastor role is one that is clearly defined and excluded to a man who is married to his first wife. That becomes problematic for a woman. Of course if biblical principles and guidelines don’t matter and aren’t your thing, then you do you and enjoy this life as full as you can.
If a church lets women vote about pastor selection, then women run that church. (There's usually more women.) IMO, this is why so many pastors' preaching does not apply the Bible, nor refute the spirit-of-the-age, e.g., feminism. Many women are easily offended, and contentious women will run slander campaigns against the pastor.

Yep... when the churches are little more than "how many butts in seats can we get and how many plates can we fill", then yeah this would be true. Sadly, those old ladies who keep the church door open will be in for a surprise one day when the Messiah Jesus says "Depart from me, I never knew you, ye worker of iniquity". 99% of modern "churchianity" happening on SUNdays is nothing more than spiritual garbage void of any real show of the Holy Spirit. It is because no one reads their Bible and no one asks questions and seeks answers.
Satan is doing his best to blur the line between right and wrong, so that even children of God who should be walking uprightly in righteousness, no longer have a conscience about the things which are abhorrent to God. These are truly the days when men are lovers of self and lovers of pleasure, rather than lovers of God. My church was once huge, but some of the congregation decided our 'way' (which was reading God's word exactly as it is, and applying it at face value!) was too strict for them, and hundreds left to form a subdivision. They became very loose and worldly, (observation not a judgement), and women began to wear makeup and trousers, and even to preach (nothing new now!) but they were still not satisfied. So they divided yet again, and formed another church. This became even wilder, and football matches were held on Sundays, barbecues and pool parties became more regular than church meetings, etc. Both sub groups have a high attendance whilst we are left in significant smallness. Satan would often tempt me to follow my younger fellow believers to the other groups, where it seemed like they were more free. But I realise now the danger I would have been in had I joined them, and am fully convicted that my own church, though outwardly small and seemingly traditional/old fashioned, follows hard after the truth and does not change scripture to suit, nor ignores the scriptures it chooses. It may seem restrictive to others, but we need guidelines in Christianity just like a train needs train tracks. To keep us moving on the right path. We're not here to be comfortable, to enjoy ourselves and definitely not to fit in with the world. In fact I think as believers we should stick out like sore thumbs. Because a light in the darkness shows up well. But a dark unlit candle does nothing to cheer the night. It is a great tragedy indeed that so many churches seem to be actively working, yet are utterly dormant in the sense that they carry none of the conviction or morals that the people of old had. Where is the Holiness, where is the humble and meek heart and the pure, honest devotion to God? Sincerity and truth, obedience and submission... words like these are few and far between today. I do pity any unbeliever who stumbles upon a church in today's world, for what will they find inside- will the Holy spirit be there, or will they find men socialising and glorifying themselves? Will the preacher be courageously speaking God's word, or a soft message formed in his own words? "Lord kindle within us a holy desire, Like that which was found in Thy people of old, Who tasted Thy love, and whose hearts were on fire, While they waited, in patience, Thy face to behold." There is much to pray about!
Amen. May God Himself grow your church and its influence, and bless your families with an overabundance of children, and extend the legacy of your humble fellowship for generations, never shaped by the worldliness of men, but always transformed with the mind of Christ.

Different people need different teaching. I recommend Joyce Meyer for teaching on the man being the head of the marriage. She regularly brings up this theme in her teachings, and shares her testimony of how hard this was for her, especially, being sexually abused by her father growing up. @@Esteronja I've seen one. And that was what I saw. A man looking with his arms crossed and closed in doesn't look like a man of strength. She looks like the strong one who holds him up. Not that a woman of strength is wrong, but He must carry himself in such a way that looks like he is not trying to merely keep her ministry going. Unfortunately, in many evangelical circles, men are beaten down and told to sit down while the women are given special place. Hence, men are ruled over and are not given any respect- not by the Pastor or their wives. Then we wonder why men are such a weak presence in the church. If women were told continuously to submit to their husbands in an equally abusive way, women would not be going to church either. But if the hierarchy prescribed in the scriptures was upheld with equal respect, we would see a healthy church. A church where men respect and biblically serve their wives, and women biblically enjoy and respect the headship of their husbands.

The pastor has a primary responsibility to affirm the mans role as spiritual leaders of the home. If this is being done properly, the pastor will have no need to preach to those men’s women. In fact, I’d question whether or not a pastor has the obligation or the responsibility to directly teach my wife anything including calling her out on her sin. That’s my job and role. If anything, I should be addressed about the issue in private first and then increasingly public as Matthew 18 states. This is where Protestantism fell drastically short in their priesthood of the believers understanding. They’re still trying to operate as if they and we are under a Levitical priesthood instead of a Melchizedek priesthood. In my opinion, this approach (that the pastor has to have a spine) is a poor substitute for the real answer, husbands and fathers who have a spine, who know that they have a divine obligation to cover their family and solely give account before God for the soul bonds under their covering.

Wait a minute, my pastor wears skinny jeans, is in his later 30’s and has a spine like steel! A bunch of people left the church about him not want women to preach there.
Thank you Pastor Wilson . You are addressing the number 1 problem. A failure of discipleship in the church.

Eve ate the apple and God specifically forbids it
Right on target. If more pators, male pastors, spoke about feminism and dangers and effects, churchs will become stronger.
A pastor's wife near us insisted on becoming a pastor-ess herself and it is such a mess since he acquiesced to her demands. She is preaching and teaching a stream of la-la-land made-up charismatic non-gospel side-show brouhaha. And if you've ever been around a stream of la-la-land made-up charismatic non-gospel side-show brouhaha, then you already know exactly what I'm saying.
That isn't because she's a woman. Teaching nonsense s not confined to women is it. The majority of preachers in the pulpit are men and the nonsense being preached in the church is deafening.
What a disappointing thing.
Rebuke them and walk away if they don't repent. Too many will sit in that and just go "this church was much better.... blah"... very few are willing to stand up to a pastor and say YOU ARE IN ERROR!

If you're looking for church health, just glance around. How are the young women dressed? How many older women are present without a spouse? How many young people are attending?

Wow. Simple but profound.
I was everyone's spiritual super- hero until I quoted Doug Wilson in a sermon; and the entire female part of the congregation turned on their ice rays.... ;-)
And turned on their rebellion to God's word.
You'll either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
I think this is especially true for a pastor with a spine. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Maybe women don't like to get r_a/p/3/d
Sounds like the ones who turned on their ice rays need to be told to find another church.
@@jefftube58 Sounds to me like they need to be told to find Christ.
Medusas!... That's great I'm going to have to steal that. Thank you very much!
Would you mind explaining your point a little more. This has been an issue that has troubled me.
Very few churches like this.
Truth! I wish a could find a church like this.
That put me on the trajectory toward God and I'm so grateful for a clear voice like Doug's to guide us young believers back into community with other believers.
holy moly YES!
Oh, they are being dishonored in front of their families-then blamed when anything goes wrong
You're right ! most pastors are afraid of the women in their churches and will not preach on any passage that even suggests women can be just as bad sinners as men, and especially they can be and are rebellious and want to control everything.
Practical step #1: start printing recipes in the bulletin under the women's ministry section ;)
Love that idea.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great courage to address this issue about women. The feminine movement in the church is intuitively obvious to the most casual Observer.
DANG! Shots fired! 👉🏻

Wow, you nailed it for us ministers...THANK you for this exhortation!!!
Really.

"Lord kindle within us a holy desire,
Like that which was found in Thy people of old,
Who tasted Thy love, and whose hearts were on fire,
While they waited, in patience, Thy face to behold."
There is much to pray about!

If this is the case, that's very sad. I see a loving and devoted husband who gives his life up for his woman, as Jesus did. I see strenght and joy in him. Have you heard interviews with them as a couple?

How about making Christians with a spine! Strong ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace! Discipleship!
Mr. Wilson you need the love of Jesus I pray that you have a personal experience with him and that the scripture would be illuminated in your heart and mind by the Holy Spirit you need to alter your focus on Jesus... proverbs 10 says the lips of the discerning is where wisdom is found....I pray that God will give you discernment through the Scriptures
You must be one of those sacred cow women....
You really do not know who the feminists are until you preach Ephesians 5, Colossians 3, or Titus 2. Then you WILL know.
