    Is there a part 3 with the technical parts? Looking for tips on teaching our son how to plow/brake/control his speed.

      I never got around to it. Maybe I’ll try and get that done this winter.

    I was put on those plastic skis at 2.5 years old but they were strictly for flat areas not to go downhill and more of a mean for me to get a feeling for skis before going on the actual slope (the ski Kindergarten had a strict no under 3 year old policy but I was desperate to learn how to ski). I think those plastic skis are a good idea for having your kid ski around the backyard on their own, it gives them a feeling for the movement.

    • @ThatMountainLife
      @ThatMountainLife  2 года назад +1

      We skied on real skis around the yard. To purchase plastic ones for only a few uses wouldn’t be worth it imo.

      @@ThatMountainLife that’s totally fair but I think it depends on the circumstances. Where I grew up we had some snow days in winter but were at least three hours away from the next ski resort, so I only got to ski a few days per year and rented skis for the occasion until I was old enough to not outgrow my skis. The plastic skis were a cheap opportunity for my parents to have me have my very first steps.

    Most one piece snowsuits have a little stitch so if they grow you can get another extra inch or two in the torso length and the sleeves

    This was really interesting, I don’t have kids but it’s making me want to go back to snow and ski again since it’s (oh my goodness!!!) almost been a decade since I first went skiing. I remember loving it though, I never went off of the little slope since I was young and it was my dads first time as well but I did enjoy doing the jumps that were in the little slope 😀.

    What if I want to teach my 9 year old to ski, but I can't ski myself? Im a beginner snowboarder, should I just pay for lessons?

    • @ThatMountainLife
      @ThatMountainLife  Год назад

      Likely! A child that age is going to pick the basics up on skis relatively quickly. Hiring an instructor makes sense if you can’t get out there - even just 1 lesson can give them the foundational miles to be able to lap the bunny hill on their own after.

    Hey Eric, how do you record yiur kid's voice? Can you communicate with her through an intercom?

    • @ThatMountainLife
      @ThatMountainLife  Год назад

      I use the rode wireless go mic set up. It can work with a smart phone or action camera (with the right adaptor/case).
      I cannot communicate with them through the mic it just records their voice remotely to the video/camera.
