I was put on those plastic skis at 2.5 years old but they were strictly for flat areas not to go downhill and more of a mean for me to get a feeling for skis before going on the actual slope (the ski Kindergarten had a strict no under 3 year old policy but I was desperate to learn how to ski). I think those plastic skis are a good idea for having your kid ski around the backyard on their own, it gives them a feeling for the movement.
@@ThatMountainLife that’s totally fair but I think it depends on the circumstances. Where I grew up we had some snow days in winter but were at least three hours away from the next ski resort, so I only got to ski a few days per year and rented skis for the occasion until I was old enough to not outgrow my skis. The plastic skis were a cheap opportunity for my parents to have me have my very first steps.
This was really interesting, I don’t have kids but it’s making me want to go back to snow and ski again since it’s (oh my goodness!!!) almost been a decade since I first went skiing. I remember loving it though, I never went off of the little slope since I was young and it was my dads first time as well but I did enjoy doing the jumps that were in the little slope 😀.
Hadn’t skied in almost two decades. Finally went back last year and within a week of skiing again, I bought a season pass for this year. Kicking myself I ever stopped
Might you please tell me what mic system you use on your child… how it is done? Thank you so much you’ve done an amazing job instilling confidence and assuring a love of skiing in them, we hope to do the same!
Likely! A child that age is going to pick the basics up on skis relatively quickly. Hiring an instructor makes sense if you can’t get out there - even just 1 lesson can give them the foundational miles to be able to lap the bunny hill on their own after.

I use the rode wireless go mic set up. It can work with a smart phone or action camera (with the right adaptor/case). I cannot communicate with them through the mic it just records their voice remotely to the video/camera.
Hiya Erich, Is it possible you edit the Voices audio on a stereo track ? I can hear sounds in my left ear but not in the right one. Thanks for the awesome videos !
@@ThatMountainLife I hope I did not come over as a rude internet stranger. If you want any help with audio stuff I used to be an audio engineer. And I have some basic audio knowledge. Very basic! I’m sure you’ll figure it out. But if in need for something audio related I’m here watching your videos everyday. :D I’ve really enjoyed your videos thank you for all the effort!
Great video! I wish I had this information when my children were young. So far great results. Your channel has brought me great entertainment and joy over the last two plus years. Keep it up and Thank you
Yes, but WHERE can I BUY winter clothing like this for plus size adult women? 🤔🥺😭 It's EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to find outdoor-wear for bigger people. 🥰🤗💖🇨🇦
The North Face makes plus size ski pants and bibs(short, regular, and tall) and jackets and evo sell them. Also Eddie Bauer makes plus size baselayers, Down vest and Down Jackets. Eddie Bauer's ski jacket and pants sell out by Christmas/ New Years.
i love how im 16, a kid myself, and watching this acting like i have kids😂 Your content is just too good!
Well done! So sensible I will take your tips to heart. Grandpa is taking the next generation to the slopes.
My 3 year old really wants to ski after just watching intro. Can't wait to teach him.
How'd the first day on the bunny slope go?
Taking my daughter up for this first trip here in just about a hour! She is 4 I am a lifelong skier. Your videos were helpful! Thanks!
Keep it short, keep it fun!
Is there a part 3 with the technical parts? Looking for tips on teaching our son how to plow/brake/control his speed.
I never got around to it. Maybe I’ll try and get that done this winter.

We skied on real skis around the yard. To purchase plastic ones for only a few uses wouldn’t be worth it imo.

Que linda se ve Adia aun chiquita mil gracias por compartir todas las etapas saludos familia
Adia is magnificent. Love her to bits ❤
Most one piece snowsuits have a little stitch so if they grow you can get another extra inch or two in the torso length and the sleeves
A braid is the best go to hair style for girls- keeps all your hair out the way and stops it from getting tangled🎉

Awesome approach, I can't agree more with your advice (especially for us dad's who want to raise the next Jossi Wells!) So much stoke and care! ❤
Love that guy in the back!!! Hahahaha
Thanks so much for making this video, and answering so many questions I had.

Great stuff. Anyone has the link for part 3?
Honestly I don’t think I got around to making a 3rd video. 🙈
All good. I got a lot out of the first two and the pdf.
Love you all ❤❤❤❤❤
What if I want to teach my 9 year old to ski, but I can't ski myself? Im a beginner snowboarder, should I just pay for lessons?

It’s a GRWM Adia ski version!

Yes, I just figured out how to do that in DaVinci Resolve. I always listen through my laptop and never notice.
I’ll get better at the sound
