My favorite is The Year Without A Santa Claus. She helps take care of Santa when he was sick and handles the Miser Brothers and their antics well. I also like the Santa Claus Is Coming To Town version of Mrs. Claus. And I think she seemed stern because she was set in her ways. She was a strong woman. She knew what she wanted in life. But I didn’t know about the TV movie with Angela Lansbury. That sounds cool! I might have to watch that one sometime. Well, thanks for sharing! Have a great day! Merry Christmas!
I love the one from a year without a Santa Claus, she is both strong and does her own thing but also compassionate and a loving wife to Santa. She sleighs
Angela Lansbury will always be my Mrs Clause. She changed my life at 8 years old when she graced the small screen. I started addressing my letters to both of them. And as an adult I have made my own Mrs Santa Clause costume inspired by Nordic folk costumes because of this movie. I just love this movie🥰
As a kid my church would have both Santa and Mrs Clause come over at our church children Christmas party, she would arrive a little early to read us a Christmas story and then both of them would had out presents.
i saw the angula lansbury movie when it was first on tv and its been a favorite of mine every year since. I worked back stage at regional and community theaters and I want SOO badly for it to hit stage. like come on! i worked on newsies, fiddler and Oliver at the same theater for crying out loud! they have the costume stock! i can mentally see how it could be done and everything. and im DIEING to do it!
It makes perfect sense that Mrs. Claus would NOT exist when the legends surrounding Santa Claus were created. The character of Santa Claus is based on St. Nicholas and as such, he would have been a man of the cloth, thus unmarried.
Thank you for another brilliant video, Matt! I really learned a lot! I always just assumed that Mrs. Claus was created for the same reason Aunt Harriet was for the 1966 "Batman" TV show! I wish you the happiest of holidays and a beautiful new year!
I love her representation in the Rankin Bass movies. When i was a kid, i used to interpret that Mrs.Claus was a Fairy godmother of Christmas or a spirit who distributed gifts, took care of needy people when they asked for help and baked some food, i either though she was just gender swap Santa Claus or a fairy/saint that walks in the snow and streets during Christmas, i didn't though much about the possibility of her being Santa Clause's wife
I know a husband and wife who do Santa and Mrs. Claus you also skipped many movies. Santa clause the movie, The Night they Saved Christmas , all the times she changed names etc
While I have my own unique stories of Santa Clause. I remember going to a Department store, maybe Sears or Eatons and my mom had to shop for bras or something like that. And there was Mrs. Clause with a box of candy canes. And I was so intrigued by her that I had this 40 minute conversation about life in the north pole haha. There was something on VHS to watch in the background. I really enjoyed being with Mrs. Clause, however i think it was around 530pm and she said that her shift was over. LOL. I had to ask, what did the word shift mean. She said that she has to go and bake cookies and watch the elves from doing something naughty (them humping the snowmen I suppose , but i digress). Lol, it was sad to see her go. I wish life was simple like that.. now I'm like 40 and I have never ever seen a department store Mrs. Clause since that time period. And I'm jaded with life. Bless that actor that I interacted with, probably passed away by now.
Do youremember ytvs santa call in show where mrs.claus worked the switch board? That to me is a reflection of her role in the north pole. She handles santas logistics to keep him on track.
Regarding the Mrs. Claus of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, in all fairness, the Santa in that one was kind of a jerk as well. Most of the characters were not very nice, when you think about it.
Santa Claus is very special but he is not the most important man. Since Christmas is primarily about Jesus Christ's birthday, Jesus is the most important man.
*Matt's Musings:* Which version of Mrs. Claus is YOUR favourite?
Shirley Booth - The Year Without a Santa Claus - I loved the way she handles the Miser Brothers.
Year without a Santa Claus is my definitive Mrs Claus
Mine is Angela Lansbury in Mrs. Santa Claus (1996), I am so psyched that I was saying this right before you said her name.
Year Without A Santa Claus is my favorite... but Mistletoe Over Manhattan was sweet, too.

I DID THE SAME THING! After watching that movie all my letters to the North Pole were for both Santa and Mrs. Claus 🥰
You are committed! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas!!
We are doing a stage adaptation of Mrs. Santa Claus at the Goodspeed Opera House in winter of 2025!!!
Incredible!!
As a kid my church would have both Santa and Mrs Clause come over at our church children Christmas party, she would arrive a little early to read us a Christmas story and then both of them would had out presents.
I have seen Angela Lansbury as Mrs Claus. She was pretty great!
I like Mrs. Claus in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer: "Papa, you have to eat!"

It would do SO WELL onstage! Someone is missing out on a lot of money in licensing fees!

Three Cheers for Mrs. Claus ❤️🎄💚 I was surprised that you didn’t mention Shirley Booth’s Portrayal in “The YEAR WITHOUT a SANTA CLAUS” (1970) …
Three cheers indeed!!! 🙌🙌🙌
I’ve actually never seen year without a Santa Claus! Somehow it flew under the radar…Im going to try to watch it tonight!

I got the right movie, but I thought it was something like "Santa Claus Vs. The Martians"
I know a husband and wife who do Santa and Mrs. Claus

So true!
I was hoping you had seen Red One
Not yet!! Does Mrs Claus make an appearance??
Yes but not a huge role
@@TeacupForOne I feel like it's a good example of being a strong woman while being the supportive thing... Idk it stuck in my brain
It is nice to know that a man endorses Mrs Claus!
💖
Nixon?🤪
I said what I said 😅
I was born naughty 😮

This video was not to my liking. Merry Christmas
I am so sorry I disappointed you on Christmas.
I think user caterinagargiulo likes this video. Idk though
