It would make sense to store all your food and other survival items in large-lightweight suitcases on wheels , you could take more items with you without wearing yourself out.

No offense- but where exactly do you think you're carrying this??? It's a HOME kit. You want a bug out bag- only about 6 million videos have been done on that...

Major point made! Only pack what you like. If you don't like fish, don't pack canned sardines. Don't like Spam, don't pack it, even though it has a virtually unlimited shelf life. Except for the possibility of having to take the kit with you, I don't understand people who don't have at least 3 days food in their kitchen. We can live a month or more with the food in our pantry.

+jmtnvalley theoretically, yes, humans can survive for 3+ weeks without food however, it depends on our level of activity, how much we ate before the disaster, and some food is a lot better than no food.

      Survival For All
True, some food is better than none, however, if you are packing kit with backup food, why not pack stuff you prefer? I like Vienna Sausages, but not sardines. Why would I then pack sardines in my kit? I have canned chicken meat, because I like it.

Winner of a video, been searching for "free online disaster simulation games" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Landonfen Disaster Genie - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.

It is an awesome exclusive guide for surviving and preparing for a disaster minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my cousin at last got cool results with it.

2-3 days is the recommended MINIMUM amount. That's what this video is about. If you want larger amounts, find the correct video- there's even a search bar at the top...

pudding and sugar filled nutrigrain bars? ...how about canned fruits, vegetables, beans and some rice? so much better for you. especially if this kit is needed in the long run rather than just three days, nutrition would be important. same for milk. our bodies dont absorb the calcium very easily so you're just better off with water-much more sustainable. good point with avoiding salty snacks though. thank you for the tips.

You have no idea what you're talking about. BTW- how are you going to cook your 'beans and rice' without power sweetie??

I think this kit is meant to be for home only, which is seperate from a bug out bag. You wouldn't want canned, heavy foods in a pack that you carry.

Probably would recommend a very big water supply.

EVERYONE should have at least 1-2 cases of bottled water in the house. Every Walmart has a case of water for $4 or less. I also use the refillable 5 gallon jugs that you can refill from the machines at various locations (walmart usually has a refill machine), that's about 30-40 per gallon if you bring your own bottle.

I really can't stand beef ravioli in a can. I don't like red sauce I'm lucky my blood pressure is always 120/80 which is perfect.

I don't like the canned ravioli very much either- BUT, this is for an emergency. I guarantee that after 12 hours without a meal- ravioli straight from the can would be delicious. Maybe try the flavored tuna pouches, or MRE's if you don't mind the expense. Ravioli, water and a flashlight mean the difference between an inconvenient night, and a nightmare. Only takes $10 or $20 to get started...
