Tunmore's lake. What a great video . Joe gave me loads of useful information on bread dobbing.
I borrowed a 10mm punch & tried this today, had a great day with 11 carp & even snapped on one it was that big, it was really cold but will definitely be trying this again. Thanks Joe great tips & definitely put more fish in the net.
Need all the help I can get with bread dobbin as don't have much success keeping punch on the hook will use it at lawn farm fisheries in Cambridgeshire the next time I go if I win
Only been match fishing for a year now , and used bread on a pleasure day last week for the first time. Had a great day on bomb and bread at monk lakes👍👍
Great video thanks 👍🏻 my son has just got into pole fishing, would love to give him these punches to use at our local lake Trippenkennett farm!
Lovely bit of kit! I’d use it on the River Tees hairrigged discs with liquidised bread feeder for when the chub migrate to the deeper stretches 👌
Hi mate - taken me a long while but suddenly got a bit of confidence on pop-up bread on the tip.
Fishing last Wednesday at Puddledock Road lake I found that I was waiting up to 15 mins for a bite, thought that perhaps they were only taking it when the bread finally sank to the bottom so I squeezed the 3 10mm discs to make the sink immediately and suddenly bites came much quicker. Cant wait for my next match!
The punch kit would be well used at Portland fishery in Nottinghamshire. Got a majority of my winter league matches there and I'll definitely be using these tips to improve my chances of catching with or without the punch set!
I would use this kit at partridge lakes an awesome bit of kit especially with the pop up lid in cold weather keeping your bread dry and punches all together is a nice touch.
Love all your videos...i must have watched about 30 this week alone. im starting fishing this week for the first time so id use the bread punch down the river in Burford
Hi Joe. Thank you for tips. I will use it on lakes around Rakovnik town (Czech Republic). A lot of carps, roaches and breams inside these lakes
Great tips Joe. Especially the searching for fish with plummet, will be using with my lad down at greenridge farm fishery in Ampfield Hampshire
Nice handy bit of kit... Use to have one but lost it in a lake on a windy day.
Very useful on Rosemery woods in Maghull Liverpool.
Another excellent item from Preston, this would be an ideal item to use...as im about to give match fishing ago in the north west...another weapon to add to the list to help me along......
Thanks Joe.
An absolute beginner senior citizen inspired by Gone Fishing and living now in Netherlands.
Using Response Whips here in Amsterdam canals.
A bread punch box would be ideal.
Thanks.
Mike
That plummet tip is amazing, ill be hammering that one. Id use the punch kit on the Rochdale canal with licky for some lovely pasty roaches until the big pikes come out to play. The comfort thing is key, especially in a match, time and motion is something not thought about i think, for example if you can set your box and tackle up in such a way that shipping in, baiting up, then shipping out again is just a measly one second faster than normal then the 100 times you ship in and out is 100 seconds saved, thats nearly 2 minutes more rig in water fishing for that potentially section or even match winning couple of ounces. And how many times have you been beaten by a couple of ounces? Now apply that thinking to everything, think if there is an easier, smoother way to go about the way you handle and swap top kits off the pole, the way you catty bait, net and unhook fish. If you can save a fraction of a second on these things that get repeated possibly hundreds of times, that is more time to spend attempting to win matches.
Loving the video work and the tips joe, even made my own wormery following one of your vids. As for bread punches I’m in Suffolk and Surprisingly there aren’t many commercial waters like that near me so I’d most likely use it on the river after roach and chub this time of year.
Good tips jo
I am fishing lower park fishery in redditch on Saturday and that would be a godsend...loving your work by the way....keep it up.
Have been trying to purchase one of these for a while but no angling shops near me have any in stock, will use at meadow farm cottage, Barford lakes and many more in my area.
Great tips i know it’s a commercial set but I would use on the fen drains to try and get some quality roach
Having moved over from being a carper and being obsessed with bread at the minute I would really love this to use at Hampton springs 😁👌
Wanted one of these for Christmas from Wifey but local shop had nowt in stock, if I won this I would use it at Far View lakes, they have islands & deeper water to target, great product just need to watch it again to get it right, many thanks in anticipation.
Thanks Joe loved the tip about settled weather and cold rain giving a clue where the fish may sit. I had my first ever result dobbing last winter at Old Hough - Boulders. Drew the same peg again in different conditions and they werent there - now i know why! I am definitely going to consider different areas for dobbing now - not just tight to features - Cheers
Hi Joe. Great tips again. I’m 68 and don’t use a pole😆😆 but would love the punch kit to use on my local club lakes in Hampshire as the bream and tench are now waking up so bomb and bread would be a great cold water method.
Cheers mate😃😃👍👍
Great piece of information about the plumbing to locate fish ,id be using the bread to dobb to catch the carp close in on my local natural water where our club has matches ,claytons .
Just got back into coarse fishing after 35 years
used bread all the time on the float on my local club waters in Barrow-in-Furness would be nice to use on the bomb as well
Hoping to get out again soon with my wife to our nice local small but lovely commercial in Somerset, Withy Water. I have a small set of punches of course but keeping the bread in good condition is tricky so that kit would be a great addition to our gear.
I've never tried dobbing, so if I win I'd use it at Moat house fishery in Burtonwood targeting the F1s. Thanks for all the great videos and super tips.
Great video joe! Alot of great tips and advice in this video! I would use this method on my local stretch of the Staffordshire canal to catch them tench!
Very informative video. Caught my first fish on popped up bread and bomb this week, so now have some confidence in the method. I would use the punch set on my local match water at Greenacres Lakes in Lincolnshire.
Lovely video. I love it so much.
I'm a basically new fisherman from Hungary and I'm trying to use basic ground baits. (not pellets or other pieces of stuff) It could be helpful a bread punch kit.
Hopefully got my first junior match this spring,I will practice with these at my local lake Andy’s
Great pole tips and can’t wait to use bread (no punch set though) at Makins fishery’s next week.
Great vid again joe! I’d take this to higher farm fishery when I’m out of isolation as there’s a lot of carp to go at and there’s a big old Lilly bed to dob around 😍
Another very informative vid for those of us just getting into pole fishing at age 67. I would like to use the bread punch at a venue you and Rob Wootton fished that is local to me, Yolk Hill Fishery but it's not allowed so next local is Wold Farm Fishery. Brilliant venue but I would do much better with the bread punch kit.. LOL. Keep up the brilliant vids for us "beginners". Thanks Joe
I've seen these commercial punch boxes in my local tackle shop but hadn't realised the simple brilliance of the pop up lid design. I'd be using this at the awesome Float Fish Farm in Peterborough and also on the Whittlesey Dyke for silvers on the Yaxley A.C.controlled stretch above Ashley Sluice at Braemar Gardens.
Fantastic tips for winter fishing joe. I would use the bread punch at Aston park fisheries, messingham sands and swanlands best of luck to everyone👍
Some good tips Joe. will help me in my seniors match on Magpie lake at Rookery Waters.
Docklow for me. Great video and really useful for someone new to match fishing.
Hi Joe i recently returned to match fishing from carping though not fished a match in over 25years! a little rusty but its coming back. I would use the punch kit on the match lakes at Monklakes in Kent
Great tips there Joe ty, I’ve never really tried dobbing with any major success so these tips will definitely help, I will be trying this next session at Manor Farm Leisure at Evesham
Thanks for the video and advice Joe. Didn’t know about searching for fish with a plummet, will certainly give that a go. Will try this on my local water.
Great tip about using the plummet to search around for fish.
I would use the punch set on myrefold waters.
Nice to get some clarity on the reason for float choice & fishing finding tip was very interesting. I'd be taking the bread punch kit to Royal Berkshire Fishery near Windsor if I was to win it, it's great little match lake complex with a cracking mix of F1 and carp.
Looks a great bit of kit. I'd use on my local canal. Good head of Bream and Roach, and chance of picking up a carp as well.
A great peace of kit for the river Thames happy new year to you all 👍
Hi Joe, top video keep up the great work. Beginner fisherman here, I’d love to have a session with the punch kit at Loxley fishery near Sheffield. All the best!
Various lakes ill be fishing this year. All tips taken on board cheers.
Thanks Joe great video as always. I'd use the punch kit at the oaks. Thirsk. Great snake lakes full of carp and f1s.
Top tips Joe, be using some of these tomorrow at Spring Cottage Fisheries in the winter league on 1 of the 6 lakes also called Willow!
It’s nice to see joe fishing instead of behind the camera. Tibshelf ponds would be choice. Good luck everybody 🤞🤞
Hi joe.
The Mrs got me a 4m whip for crimbo, which I think I'll be trying out at cornfields Fishery, never used a whip before so I may need all the help I can get. Those punches would work great alongside my father in laws homemade bread. Need to practice doing some Pole rigs or do you have anything special for whips?
Great video! I’d use the punch kit on the Oxford canal this winter in the hope of some cracking red fins 🤞🏻
Hi joe. Brilliant advice from you as always. I’m going to be dobbing bread at my favourite mixed fishery Meadow Farm In Norwich. Just a quick question. Do Ide take bread as there’s loads in there ??
some great tips, after watching this I should fish bread more on my club waters in West Sussex, it might just bring an extra couple of fish to help win some more matches and that punch kit looks great.
Bread's a bait thats work for Decades, always worth keeping it as an option for so many species, favourite is when you go chubbing in the cold and mix it with danish blue cheese, Chub love the stinky bread/cheese paste
Versatile accessory perfect both for local carp fishery at Harescombe & Gloucester canal when it goes clear in the winter
I use punched bread throughout the year on rivers and lakes for float and feeder with great results for roach rudd bream tench carp and crusians .
I want to start using bread more, these tips (just like the other tip videos) are really helpful to understand how to fish that tactic best, i would mainly use the bread punch kit on partridge lakes as its my local.
Love the video Joe . Me and my mate were on the opposite side on the day you filmed this .Tight lines .
Great vid I currently pinch my sons bread punch kit when we go and he gets fed up with that, so to have my own would be great and I'd head straight down to Bitterwell Lake Bristol.
Cheers🎣
I would use it at Oxcopse lakes near Ashington. Thanks Joe, useful tips as usual.
Awesome vide Joe, I’m still learning about dobbing but would probably use it at kiveton water in Sheffield
Very comprehensive tips Joe, Thanks. I would use the Commercial Punch Kit at Shollowbrook Lakes Norwich & also on the Norfolk Broads.
Coincidence that you filmed this at Packington, that's where my next match is later this month although on a different pool, but I'll certainly be starting on the same tactic. Interesting to note that you advocate use of wire stem floats as I'd previously been given the impression that you use cabon stems.
Being mostly a canal fisherman this would go down a treat while bread punching for roach on the trent and mersey canal.
Great advice Joe. It’s amazing how many tips you can pick up in a few minutes of video. I’ve never tried bread punches but used break flakes many times. Do you ever use the crust? I’d like to try it at Singleton Lakes, my local venue.
Partridge lakes for me Joe what depth do you recommend starting at in both deep and shallow swims ?
I'd love this punch kit, it looks absolutely spot on for me and the venue I'll be fishing is the Devizes canal in one of the pounds, great video and great product 👍
I use the bread punch at my localish venue Hillview fishery in Tewkesbury Gloucester great video as always cheers Joe.
Great tips Joe. I would use it on my local club lakes up here in Northumberland.
Joe, A great no nonsense clear and concise instructional video. I f I were to win I would use it a Partrige Lakes, Bradshaw Hall and two local club waters Castlehead and Ratherheath Tarn
Another great video I will use it on the Gloucester canal trying for the roach 👍🏿 keep up the good work!!
Great tips there Joe. I would use that punch set on Horseshoe lake at Tyler’s Common Upminster. Dobbing to the islands. Keep making these great videos.
Great video, loads and loads of information and tips. I will be using the bread punches at Emerald Pool Fishery, Somerset
The punches I use for dobbing I made with my Dad on his lathe nearly 30 years ago! Fancy some new ones to try on the bread feeder for chub now my local river cam is settling down.
Fished all my life and never thought about using a plumet to indicate fish! If I win the bread punch kit we’ve got a few young lads fishing with our club that could happily make a good home for it brilliant piece of kit as I already use one 👏🏼 I’m sure they would love to use it during a clubs winter league at Portland fishery
Thanks for the Video, I use bread a lot in the winter on the pole and other methods. If I was to win then Wooda lakes is where I would first use it in my next match. Thanks Joe
Will be trying dobbing at Grove Farm Worcester, got the pole and bread just need the lunch kit!!! Great learning video too.
Great video, what was the size of the F1 pellet float you were using?
Great video Joe would use this on any venue I fish it would replace my old fly box that I use now
Do you compress the bread when popping it up on the bomb, this set looks just the job for fishing at Lindholme
great help Jo, i'll be useing it on local lake in Long Eaton Notts ( Grange Pond ) thanks Ric
Fab video, completely forgot about the bread punch,on my 4th blank so will give it a try next time out !
Some great tips, as always though you forgot to mention that to find fish at this time of year you ideally need to fish a venue with plenty to target, hence why I will be using the prize at Ivy House Lakes, hopefully sat next to Des.
Greta tips as usual, four crosses fishery might see me using that kit
Cheers for the video, needed this method yesterday! i would mostly use this on the river Avon but also would be great on my local lake (eden vale) dropping it into some of the margin weed holes
Another cushdy video Joe. I would after use it on my club water the Tilerey wingate. Love using bread
Hello Joe. I'd use it at Barmston Farm on jolly solly hols in May. Last year my mate caught loads of carp on bread. I'd spent loads on expensive carp baits and caught tiddlers (even caught a gudgeon on an 8mm wafter).
Great vid Joe. Punch kit would come in handy on my go to pond, Tom's Pond in Otley. Great place for fishing all year round and although never blanked there the punch kit might entice the larger fish. Keep up the good work
I have the punch kit already and it got some right hammering with the bread yesterday :)
I like the big punch for meat too
Great info on dobbing looks perfect for Lindholme lakes
A very informative video Joe. I have just started to use bread as a bait and have had a little success with it if I won this it would be ideal for my local fisheries which is Blundell's in Warrington
Looks like a great bit of kit to use at my local natural water venue near Northwich, Cheshire.
Thanks for the useful tips Joe. This great bit of kit would be ideal for using at Carston Lakes 👍
great piece of kit joe would love to give this a go at redwood park huby along with your useful tips
Hi Joe, thanks for the tips, great video. off to Redhill in the morning, definitely going to give it a go.
Great tips for the winter dobbing with bread I will be fishing at bells mills fisheries
Awesome tips, cheers Joe,would use it at the best fishery going, and that is Whitesprings near Swansea, fantastic venue
Very good informative video, nice one Joe. If lucky I'll be using it at Chequertree fishery here in Kent
