Love this module! I am only able to trigger over midi, does it do gate for holding notes longer on some of the algorithms offered? Am sequencing via Oxi One and can't seem to get it working...

it definitely is possible via midi, I do it all the time but it depends on the algo...kick, fm, universal etc work fine - you gotta tweak decay and hold accordingly!

I've been trying to research Fire and Takt and there's not a lot out there in terms of how they work. Thanks for this and I'm really looking forward to your Takt video!

all the vids are coming out just now, slowly but surely - make sure you check the FLAME playlist in either my account or the flame account on youtube (or both).
There's also that miniseries on both modules i just started, which might be helpful and yessss i'm also looking forward on his take on it :)

Thank you very much for this very nice tutorial ! Can you do a little tutorial to show how you select and load the different kit and instrument ? And how you create your own kit and selecting the instruments for each channel of your own kit ? Will be very helpful ! Thank you again !

Thanks for watching - that's a good suggestion around drum and kit design so I'll add it to the list

Bonjour! Unfortunately I'll have to answer you in English as my French is not that good. A couple of things to check on the MIDI; teh FIRE takes MIDI TRS-B so make sure your MIDI device sends as a TRS-B connector. If not you'll have to buy a converter cable or adapter.
Also it listens on MIDI channel 10 so make sure you've set to that channel.
Finally each note is on the same channel starting at MIDI note 36 (typically C1). This is what you need to send to trigger each drum voice.
Hope that helps - bon chance!

      Thanks a lot !!! I'm doing a translation too!!!!
Connections are good with the right connectors.
My Korg has 16 midi channels. 1 for 1 and two for two etc.
Usually it is recognized directly...I'm not sure I understand this 36 c note thing.....
Thank you, it's been very frustrating for me for several days......

In terms of the workflow would you say this is better than the Erica LXR module? I have the LXR desktop and am debating whether to swap it for a modular option.

I find the screen easier to read on this one as it is a proper dot-matrix display, compared to a 7-segment display on the LXR. There's also the advantage of additional outputs for the drums in this module, as well as the live-morphing per voice that I like

Intersting! Does the module include cymbals (Crash) and Toms as well?
Also, Is this mixer better than the wmd one?

    • @SynthDad
      @SynthDad  11 месяцев назад +3

Yes it includes an algorithm for cymbals and toms (I just didn't use them here). The Toms can be played melodically as well.
I don't have the WMD mixer so can't really compare it fairly. I do really like this mixer though because it is expandable using additional Barback modules.

looks great but way too much menu diving and button combos for my taste. I prefer simple knob controls in individual drum eurorack modules and simpler tools.

Fair enough! Though it's no worse than using Pams New Workout for example
