For sure don't throw rocks but also don't turn your shed into a bar with no closing time. Go in your house with more soundproofing to hang out. And maybe he did come to the fence or open a window to ask you to quiet down but you were too loud to hear it.
Alternatively, he's wild for throwing those rocks and maybe you need to do it again and when he tossed something, scream like it hit you and see how he reacts. For science.

first caller, I really don’t think you’re safe, especially because you live alone. always, always err on the side of caution and paranoia. I kind of agree with moshe, that you should probably just leave. but if you really don’t want to, then you absolutely need to do the following right this second:
    1. order external and internal cameras on one day shipping and set them up as soon as they come in
    2. order pepper spray on one day shipping or just go and buy it now at a store. it is arizona after all
    3. gather any evidence you have and go to the police to start a paper trail on him
(optional 4.) get a big dog, a german shepherd or pit bull or a mix with those. not a small yappy dog bc people are much willing to kill small dogs and also this guy would get annoyed at even more noise
the next time you have friends over, be ready to record more evidence. but i wouldn’t have anyone else over until you have those cameras. because then as soon as he even approaches, the camera would activate and you’d have even more evidence
natasha’s suggestion of always faking the phone is good, but even better would be to actually call a friend whenever you leave the house
don’t take this lightly. don’t drag your feet on precautions. people are crazy and “that wouldn’t happen to me” could and does happen to anyone

but also, you shouldn’t party all night long on a regular basis because you share space. that shit sucks being the neighbor of loud partying. you should be able to have a social life and host, but after the bars until the morning? nowhere is that acceptable, except maybe a college campus. there’s a way to be a better neighbor in general, and care about your community and their day to day lives, like having to wake up for work. but it’s just unfortunate that this dangerous situation is shining a light on that

If the friend reaches out to the husband at work she will create a weird vibe. The wife, soon to be divorced, violated a trust with their spouse before the divorce. The wife is trying to get you in the split. Be careful around her.

I think single childless people need to be included in the “we”. I think everyone should get a 1 month paid leave every 3 years on top of vacation. They can use it to have a kid, for mental health, to take care of a loved one, and to just travel. But childless people can’t just do all the work and be discarded. Communities need to start including childless singles who pay more and struggle as well.
A lot of parents I work with have no empathy for adults without children. I find many of them to be selfish and ableist. So I plead to parents to think of people other than themselves. For example, vaccinate your kids! They affect the whole community. Don’t raise brats. Teach your kids to not be spoiled misogynists or ableists. Other people exist besides you.
Also, there are many homeless adults out there struggling to even get basic needs like food and shelter. Remember that a lot of the homeless population were foster kids who aged out. Or older adults who had medical needs not met by insurance.Or autistic people who were bullied out of jobs by neurotypicals. Most charities that involve children get more than enough money. When you donate think of adults as well. Also, DON'T donate to ableist organization NOTrun by actual autistic people like Autism speaks. They spread misinformation and propaganda about us. Donate to Autism advocacy programs that are run by autistic people who help autistic adults of all ages with legal issues such as wrongful firing and being mobbed. ASAN is a good one. autisticadvocacy.org.

For this woman, I think she should STFU by 12:00am or go to a bar/night club. That’s not that hard😅. But definitely you should never throw rocks at anyone. That’s insane. I think she’s the gentrifier. She doesn’t have to work in the morning? This guy just reacted horribly, but I also get annoyed by rude people who are rich and don’t have a difficult job where they need sleep. They don’t think about other people. The misogynistic undertones bother me, though. It’s difficult to know when there is only one side of the story to these things. You need to hear both sides. As a neurodivergent person, people often make shit up about me.

I love how their suggestion is always to people with problems at home is to LEAVE THEIR HOME. Fuck that! We ain’t all got that Comedy Central money, you gotta fight for your house. Throw rocks back and get a dude friend to go over there and shut that shit down. Bullies need to be bullied back OR one real in-person conversation will probably also do the trick. He obviously has a terrible job and feels inadequate and having a friend will do wonders

I lived next to a 300 pound rock thrower. I lived between the angry 300 pound mammoth and the man on the other side of me who she was throwing rocks at. Eventually, he moved out and then she targeted me. She would fill big cups of urine and dump them on my patio furniture. My friends and family kept telling me I should move out. I thought that was the worst advice and not fair. First of all, there’s a housing crisis in South Florida so there is nowhere to move. And if you do find a place is outrageously overpriced. You have to have less insecurity and make three times the amount of monthly rent you need $10,000 to move into a 700 square-foot apartment.

What do you mean by "get a dude friend to go over there and shut that shit down." Like what, threaten to kick his ass? What good outcome do you think is gonna result from that? You clearly don't have experience dealing with actual crazy people. This guy isn't a bully, he's mentally unstable. Escalating things with people like this, at best will make it harder for you to get the police involved, (because if you or someone you know is making threats as well that hurts your case), and at worst, will get you killed. And yeah, it sucks that she has to deal with this, but she has to be realistic about it. What's worth more peace of mind, or going to war with someone who at the very least is extremely volatile?

I'm starting to feel that being cynical is actually a privilege. It's a way to deflect the pain of others. Also, buying a new printer for a teacher at a public school fed by high property taxes paid by high wealth individuals is in no way fixing any of the problems of multiple waves of inequity. I think it's good to be open about where you are actually at in your education about equity --- that will always illicit more trust than pretending you know what mutual aid is.

I’m sorry but what is this advice about telling her to move? Awful awful advice. Shes lived there for nine years and you’re telling her to get bullied out of her home. Shame on you both.
Some of your advice comes from a place of privilege of being two semi-successful LA comics. Not everyone can just get up and move because of an inconvenience.

Dude, that lady is very wealthy. She is a gentrifier who can stay up all night partying. I think she's doing okay 😅. Obviously, no one should be throwing rocks or calling people names, and that guy seems a bit scary by her account, but also people DO have to work (not her obviously, but most of us do). She could be disturbing most of the neighborhood but most people are too afraid to complain. We just heard one person's account . . .hers.

Worst advice. And I lived in a similar but MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE situation next to an insane 350lb neighbor. She would throw rocks at the man who lived on the other side of me breaking my porch light. Over a year her behavior got more aggressive. And when he finally moved out, she targeted me. Filling big cups of urine and dumping them on my doormat and my porch furniture. The cops were there constantly they really didn’t do anything. They said it was up to my landlord. But telling me to move… I’m not spending $10,000, and that’s what it cost to move anywhere in South Florida even into a shit hole.
