I just bought myself an Olfa 9mm Knife and the black Carbon Olfa blades and when I was cutting my PPF it was squeaking like it did in your mirror video and it cuts so dang well so I really like Olfa and I had never heard of them before.
The partial kit also have finger like this on the atlas, the tiguan and the golf, but the tiguan need hella stretch to fit side by side but have big finger in the front edge. Core partern.
Awesome video, ive done both and ive found pre-cut can be a pain with fingering and not being able to stretch it, definitely prefer bulking bonnets, so you can stretch out those fingers, I notice you squeegee from top to bottom, we do it the other way, does it matter which way you go?
Hi. Thanks for the video. I just got my 2024 Atlas done last month at a reputable shop and the back edges have started to come off. They used the pre cut film. Do you think they will be able to fix them? Also, I noticed a piece of lint in my headlight after i washed my car. Is that acceptable? This is my first time getting ppf so not sure what is acceptable and what is not. Thanks.
If your edges are coming off, that should be replaced or fixed under installer warranty. As for the lint, you could request a replacement for that as well too. It is very hard to get an install 100% clean and perfect and contamination is a constant battle for all installers.
@@DriveProtected They fixed the two bad edges yesterday by cleaning and using a heat gun. Looks good now so hoping they don’t lift again. However, there are a few other spots near the windshield that are still lifted. Not sure if they forgot to fix those or they just lifted again. I called them today and was told to bring it next week so they can fix those and if they lift again they are going to replace the whole hood under warranty.

Bulk is best! As for the squeegeeing, I just go in the direction that makes most sense to me.

@@DriveProtected Thank you for the reply. Appreciate it. I was told the Xpel has a 10 year warranty so I’ll talk to them about it.
Let me know how it goes!
