With our unaccompanied minor service your child is well looked after for the entire trip, and with our unaccompanied minor service your child will receive help from the staff through security control to the gate and on board the flight.

In this video about unaccompanied minors we meet the young boy Leopold who is going to visit his grandparents alone. In the video about unaccompanied minors, we see how the SAS staff take good care of Leopold and help him finding his seat and show how he fasten his seatbelt. During the flight, the flight attendants keep an eye on Leopold all the time so he feels comfortable and safe.
On arrival the SAS staff help Leopold find his baggage and his family, waiting for him at the airport.

ABOUT OUR UNACCOMPANIED MINOR SERVICE:
Sometimes children need to travel on their own. SAS offers a service, unaccompanied minor service, that ensures your children are well looked after for the entire trip:
· Unaccompanied minor service is available for children from 5-15 years of age. Children 5-11 years of age must use this unaccompanied minor service, but for children 12-15 years of age, the unaccompanied minor service is optional.
· A letter of consent may be required for children aged 12-16 traveling alone who do not use unaccompanied minor service.
· Unaccompanied minor service costs €30 for domestic flights and €40 for long haul flights per direction.
· Fill out a handling advice document prior to departure. It contains personal information about your child, itinerary and the name of the person picking up the child on arrival. It must be signed by a parent/legal guardian.
· You must accompany your child to the airport, help them check in and drop off baggage. You must be able to present a valid ID at check-in regardless of destination and remain at the airport until the flight has departed.
· Check-in for unaccompanied minors must be completed no later than 45 minutes before departure.
· If your child is traveling domestically within Sweden, you can follow them all the way to the gate. For all other destinations, EU rules state you cannot follow your child beyond security control.
· On arrival, you cannot meet your child outside the aircraft. Staff will meet your child at the aircraft, take care of any possible baggage and go through customs and passport control.
· If the flight is delayed or encounters other irregularities, we will offer your child special attention and assistance. We will ensure that you as a parent will receive full information on all changes.
