You have a very calming voice, Dr Jones, which goes a long way to keeping a dog from being anxious! Dog's can sense when we are upset - and they get anxious, too. Dogs can hear, smell, see, taste and feel waaaaay more than humans, so we may not be aware of what they are reacting. Thanks so much for your informative vids.

I took my dog to the vet twice because my chihuahua starts panting out of blue... 52 degrees outside F not even warm and he is panting like crazy! Took him to the vet clinic the first time they told me ‘“nothing is wrong with him.” Sold us blood test, etc paid $650 and nothing. Second time 2nd day sold us antibiotic pills $150… The problem did not go away. What do I do? Thanks. My dog is 8 years old home chihuahua.
Are there other symptoms? My dog pants and also sneezes heavily and after CT and other tests it was found she has cancer in her nose. The panting was probably due to not able to breathe well and pain. I would recommend observing closely on symptoms (taking videos when something weird helps a lot) and going to a speciality hospital as they are more experienced. Hope this helps.
My toy Pomeranian has been diagnosed with Pancreatic disease. He is 12 years old human years and he is overweight at 12 pounds and has always suffered from skin diseases and allergies. We rescued him from a puppy mill. He was prescribed thyroxine 0.1 mg twice a day. But lately he pants excessively and for the last three days it has been constant 24/7. I’m taking him back to the vet today. But I love your videos and this one has been very helpful. I wish there were something that would help relax him so he and I wouldn’t be so miserable.
Sounds like a possible pancreatitis attack coming on. A safe simple remedy would be Bach Rescue Remedy, or chamomile tea, then to your vet ASAP. In general I find CBD oil, and Valerian better options, but you 1st need a diagnosis
Tiger Balm works on people for an "ouchie" or tweak or twist, or sprain, have you used it for dogs? Love the Dandelion 2 times a day idea. Love herbs over Rx all the time! Always in anxiety, I use the Bach Rescue Remedy cream on the ears and rub them and or add the Bach Remedy [alcohol free] drops in their water. I am unsure how or why it works, so maybe one day you can explain it to us. All I know is it works and keeps the dogs calm. Love the humidifier idea. I will start using that right away. Hey guys, I'm dealing with this panting issue for a bit now, I previously stated that CBD oil fixed my issue... it did not. My dog has been NON STOP panting and walking around the house. I am still trying to pin down the reason but a quick shower completely stopped this behavior today. he has been getting baths 2ce a week for a while so the human in me put together a possible pattern behind the bath giving him relief and today I tested it and it work immediately. I am increasing his baths to 2ce a week until I notice that this does not give him relief. Maybe there is some type of mite or something biting him, which is strange because he does not itch. I use head n shoulders 2n1 for him but this may not be as important as the bath. Hope this helps!
Great video. I was wondering if you could do a video on how to keep the muscle mass and also help them build muscle in case they have lost some of the tone. Would like to know what you recommend for dogs. I have a black lab mix she is 13 and looks 8, she is still very active and I would like to keep her muscle mass the way it is now, I cook for her and in her food I do give a hand full of kibble plus 2 times a week I also give her a can of good quality can food, but most of her food I cook, consist of beef, turkey, chicken and lamb, brown rice, peas, squash, potatoes giblets and every 2 weeks liver or kidney and heart, also every day she gets half a apple without the core or seeds and blueberries. She does have a heart murmur a 1, it was diagnosed 3 years ago and that’s why I took her off the kibble food. Her cat brother passed away due to Cancer, he was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma and carcinoma we tried chemo but it did not help so I had to put him to sleep because I did not wanted him to be suffering. Now I’m a bit paranoid with my dog she is a service dog and she is my life, I love her very much and only want the best for her, even tho she is a service dog she has been treated good with lots of playtime, hiking, camping, she has her group of doggie friends and every other day she gets picked up by her doggie sitter and goes out on adventures specially to the beach she also has a pool here in her house. Anyways I’m off the topic. It would be appreciated if you can give us the viewers with older dogs a way to keep the muscle mass on our companion dogs and if possible to even increase it if necessary. Thank you Dr Andrew. My 12 year old dog in perfect health, had to be put down because of Cushing's disease. Huge muscle atrophy. Tumor on the adrenal gland. Big Veterinary bills, and they tested for everything except for the most obvious. When he was finally diagnosed it was really too late. They wanted to do surgery. At that point he was too sickly, so I said no. I said him 3 milligrams of melatonin three times a day. I had no other alternative until now. So I thank you very very much. I couldn't understand exactly what you said about what to give for inflammatory condition, which equals cortisol. Will you please write it down for me. My new dog suffers from anxiety of fireworks, and thunderstorms. It would be greatly appreciated. Blessings.❤
I'm so sorry for your loss Janice. It is so heartbreaking 😢 My dog was diagnosed this year with Cushings too. Lots of expensive tests too with new doc, but he identified the problem. Previous vet missed all symptoms and chastised me for my dog aging weight ☹ My dog has so much hind end muscle loss he can no longer get up on his own anymore. But 90% when I get him up, he can walk. It's lifting up a dead weight of 50lbs many many times a day that is hard for me. Thank you doctor, for your excellent and compassionate advice.
+Sue G Thank you Sue. So sorry about your pet having Cushing's.😢 I'll be praying for your dog, I may not know who you are personally, but the Lord knows. Mine was a a 60 pounder. It started in the winter he was drinking a lot of water, the Vet checked him out, and said that he was fine it was probably just too dry in the house. I took him back in Spring because I could see signs of stress, ears back, tail between the legs,walking with his head down. Started testing for diabetes, not that. Then many other tests, but never for Cushing. Called the mobile vet to come, she said get me some of his urine. That was easy I just held it up while he cocked his leg. She told me the test showed Cushing. Told me to go back to my other vet because there wasn't anything she could do about it. He tested, and sure enough it was. He suggested all kinds of poisonous medicine, and then surgery. I prayed, and the Lord said no. Just keep him comfortable, and he will tell you when to do something. You will know. So I made a harness of sheepskin because he was so weak , so I could take him for a walk, and help hold him up. The night before I took him to be put down, he had released all of his bowels, and bladder. The next day he didn't want to eat or drink. and he could hardly move. So then I knew it was time. He looked at me like.... please Mom it's time, let me go. Sorry I just had to let that out.....Now I have a sweet little 40 pound girl named Ashley. She'll be 6 years old this August. Love her very much. That's why I thank God for Dr. Andrew. I I get his emails. Tomorrow I'm going to order his canine formula. but I'm going to wait until he answers my question about what is the formula for stress. I have to be careful because she is STILL Gabby Houdini and she will take a collar off.Meaning every single collar and leash she got out of !!! I don’t even know how she did that !!! I usually just have black lab BELLA. Bella was laid back. Pure Lab. Gabby has been a wild child lol 😂 When she was a baby she grabbed hold of the hose and wanted to help me wash the car lol 😂 Louis is so adorable 😍!! Ruff 🐶 Ruff 🐶 Louis is very laid back. Gabby gets upset 😢 IF she can’t touch me or be beside me IF I’m in the other room and she can’t get close to me she freaks out. Gabby is the first dog 🐶 who won’t let my dad or mom take her for a walk. I wonder why ? I have to be there on the walk. That is funny 😄

Hmm I saw some articles online n they suggested that first u need to know what breed of dog is it and if the climate condition of the place your staying isn't too hot or cold for the dog of that breed , try putting an ice pack inbetween it's thighs n test it out but still better to get it checked with a vet for any underlying medical conditions

Doctor i have a 13 year old silky terrie have shown signs of dementia about a month ago got sick very nauseous . He does get pancreatic flares occasionally so we thought that was it but then he started pacing around and panting we did a heart lung xray the cardiologist said it was normal then he started coughing they gave him doxycycline got better for the first 2 days then he declined again.. i also going to get his teeth cleaned they r in a bad shape they might be the reason ... but im not sure why his doctor cant figur it out.. he falls asleep then wakes up panting heavily then goes back to sleep normal.. he eats well no diarrhea ir vomiting plz let me know if u have any idea about wat is hsppening to him i feel his doctors r not helping its been a month
My dog keeps panting even when we're inside, she just yesterday went to the vet and hacked up an unchewed porkchop and then she seemed fine for the rest of the day, the vet said her stomach is upset so she was prescribed pills and an injection then today she won't stop panting, we took her for a walk and she is still panting then we assumed she was really hot so we gave her water and he drank almost all of it with no breaks but she still panted after the water. does she still have something that's blocking something or is it some other reason, also we got her an X-Ray because vet said she could have a bone from the porkchop they would have to remove, but they said there was none I don't know why she is doing this so it would be great for some advice.

My german shepherd is 7 and recently chewed on a raw beef knuckle bone relative to her head size. She is kind of warm, too.

+Sue G Thank you Sue. So sorry about your pet having Cushing's.😢 I'll be praying for your dog, I may not know who you are personally, but the Lord knows. Mine was a a 60 pounder. It started in the winter he was drinking a lot of water, the Vet checked him out, and said that he was fine it was probably just too dry in the house. I took him back in Spring because I could see signs of stress, ears back, tail between the legs,walking with his head down. Started testing for diabetes, not that. Then many other tests, but never for Cushing. Called the mobile vet to come, she said get me some of his urine. That was easy I just held it up while he cocked his leg. She told me the test showed Cushing. Told me to go back to my other vet because there wasn't anything she could do about it. He tested, and sure enough it was. He suggested all kinds of poisonous medicine, and then surgery. I prayed, and the Lord said no. Just keep him comfortable, and he will tell you when to do something. You will know. So I made a harness of sheepskin because he was so weak , so I could take him for a walk, and help hold him up. The night before I took him to be put down, he had released all of his bowels, and bladder. The next day he didn't want to eat or drink. and he could hardly move. So then I knew it was time. He looked at me like.... please Mom it's time, let me go. Sorry I just had to let that out.....Now I have a sweet little 40 pound girl named Ashley. She'll be 6 years old this August. Love her very much. That's why I thank God for Dr. Andrew. I I get his emails. Tomorrow I'm going to order his canine formula. but I'm going to wait until he answers my question about what is the formula for stress. We are certainly blessed to have someone that cares so much about our pets. Well my dear, this old lady has written enough to you to last for a while. You, and your best friend are in my prayers.❤

Hi I have a Beagle..got her at 8 wks.. She is spayed at 6 months..All shots up to date. When I got her she didnt like to cuddle much.. In a little while she moved away from me and stretched out alone.. She seemed to be hot. As she got older,she would pant often She has a clean bill of health from her Vet... I noticed she panted more when agitated or excited. She gets very hyper. I wonder if this is ok with her?

We got home as soon as we could. I thought the leash was to tight so I cut it off. I’ll just get a claw collar I hate to do that but she doesn’t LISTEN👂!!! Part black lab & blue Heeler. I have to be careful because she is STILL Gabby Houdini and she will take a collar off.Meaning every single collar and leash she got out of !!! I don’t even know how she did that !!! I usually just have black lab BELLA. Bella was laid back. Pure Lab. Gabby has been a wild child lol 😂 When she was a baby she grabbed hold of the hose and wanted to help me wash the car lol 😂 Louis is so adorable 😍!! Ruff 🐶 Ruff 🐶 Louis is very laid back. Gabby gets upset 😢 IF she can’t touch me or be beside me IF I’m in the other room and she can’t get close to me she freaks out. Gabby is the first dog 🐶 who won’t let my dad or mom take her for a walk. I wonder why ? I have to be there on the walk. That is funny 😄

Hmm I saw some articles online n they suggested that first u need to know what breed of dog is it and if the climate condition of the place your staying isn't too hot or cold for the dog of that breed , try putting an ice pack inbetween it's thighs n test it out but still better to get it checked with a vet for any underlying medical conditions

Doctor i have a 13 year old silky terrie have shown signs of dementia about a month ago got sick very nauseous . He does get pancreatic flares occasionally so we thought that was it but then he started pacing around and panting we did a heart lung xray the cardiologist said it was normal then he started coughing they gave him doxycycline got better for the first 2 days then he declined again.. i also going to get his teeth cleaned they r in a bad shape they might be the reason ... but im not sure why his doctor cant figur it out.. he falls asleep then wakes up panting heavily then goes back to sleep normal.. he eats well no diarrhea ir vomiting plz let me know if u have any idea about wat is hsppening to him i feel his doctors r not helping its been a month

What breed is your dog? I thought it might be a black lab but I'm not sure, as most black labs I've seen don't have such a long snout like yours.
My dog keeps panting even when we're inside, she just yesterday went to the vet and hacked up an unchewed porkchop and then she seemed fine for the rest of the day, the vet said her stomach is upset so she was prescribed pills and an injection then today she won't stop panting, we took her for a walk and she is still panting then we assumed she was really hot so we gave her water and he drank almost all of it with no breaks but she still panted after the water. does she still have something that's blocking something or is it some other reason, also we got her an X-Ray because vet said she could have a bone from the porkchop they would have to remove, but they said there was none I don't know why she is doing this so it would be great for some advice.

She is doing better, shes 7 years old, American Bulldog, she still pants occasionally. But it's not as concerning as it was a few days ago.
