- Chicken vindaloo is one of the most iconic Indian foods, known for its spicy and tangy flavor combination. A quick and easy kitchen staple, my version is wonderfully fiery with Indian heat, though you can easily adjust the spice to your preference.

How spicy will you make your Vindaloo?
love it , I love my curries and such with more sauce / gravy , thick too , like a smooth paste almost , coats the bite of chicken real well and adds a punch of flavour which indian dishes are known for.
Thank you - enjoy!
Another super easy recipe but really tasty. Good job.
Vindaloo is my #1 favorite East Indian dish, and it looks like your take is very authentic. Of course I use red onions and, given Kashmiri chilies are a bit pricey, I substitute guajilloes which are readily available here in the American Southwest. I also add an ancho for its lovely citrus tang. And lots of extra hot chili powder! But next time I'll try adding serrano. Great idea! Oh, and I tend towards pork but if using chicken I always go for thighs. Thanks for popularizing this wonderful dish.
Thanks so much!
curry! now we're talking! i've made a few of your recipes so far and they have not failed. SO GOOD.. cant wait to make this one!
Oh yeah! Enjoy!
Can’t wait to make this. Thanks
Enjoy!
Totally looks awesome Mike, I like your take on this dish, yes, a little different from the original dish ingredients, but it totally works! Great job! 👍
Thanks!
I gotta try this recipe!
I hope you love it!
Delish with curry!

Holy mackerel. Between this and the korma my house is going to be smelling great this weekend! Can't wait to make this. Thanks, dude.
Haha, I gotta know when you try it... leave me a comment on the blog maybe. Enjoy!
Luckily, I'm the only one in my household who likes curry. So it's all mine 😅
Haha, there you go!
Looks really delicious!! I’ve always loved me some hot and spicy Indian food.
Yes! I love it.
Hi Mike. We absolutely love a good hot vindaloo in the uk. I love to cook them too, I will follow your recipe I also like an extra kick 😉
Thanks, Peter! Yes, so good!
Yummy 😋
Totally! =)
Vindaloo is Indian Goan food. Very yummy
Absolutely! Definitely a favorite here.
Spicy chicken madness Mike🐓🌶
So good!
We grow a lot of peppers on our farm. My favorite Indian peppers are Kashmiri and Raja Mirch or Raja Mirchi. Heat but lots of flavor as well. I wish that I could find a better source for Indian pepper seeds.
Nice curry , fresh ginger and mustard oil ,ghee, would bring it up a notch.
ATB
Enjoy!
👍
Sounds really nice, will definitely try it myself. Never seen a vindaloo without potatoes, maybe it’s just a British thing?
Yes, potatoes are super popular with curries. Easy to add for sure
Taties n green pepper
It looks super delicious. Can you use apple cider vinegar in place of the white vinegar?
You sure can! Enjoy!
I wish I was there too but we’re totally making this tomorrow 😁
Enjoy!!
@@ChiliPepperMadness it was SO GOOD!! The leftovers were amazing too. Thank you so much.
Great to hear, Steve! Glad you enjoyed it.
Looks great! Thanks for not adding potatoes such a silly pun 🤣
Looks good! Any tips on printing this recipe? I went to the print page but it does not format well to PDF even in simplified version.
That's odd. I've had no issues printing from the site. I just printed a PDF and it looks good to me. Shoot me an email and I can send it to you. Email is on the site.
I’m doing this during a camping trip.
Enjoy!
Have you tried it with long pepper instead of black pepper?
I have not, but definitely worth trying.
Found five pounds of chicken breast on special. Gonna try this for meal prep. Fingers crossed
Nice!! Enjoy!
I love Vindaloo and it should be spicy so you taste your own gum bleeding. But, one thing. Don't use olive oil in the pan, use ghee instead. Both for flavor and olive oil is not a good cooking oil. But you got a new subscriber 😁
What's a better substitute for olive oil for everyday cooking?
Ok i missed your amount of chicken and was it all breast or white and dark?
I used 2 pounds chicken thighs.
Is it saucy? LOL Looks good.
Did I mention saucy? =)
Aight…marinade is in the fridge. Cross fingers that this turns out good.
I hope you like it!
If you love Indian curry check these out, Al’s Kitchen, Misty Ricardo or Latif’s inspired. The real deal. Thank me later
you never use olive oil for indian cooking always veg oil or ghee
Go for it. I typically use veg oil, or a simple blend.
