I always thank cashiers, stockers, anyone that provides a service for me. I thank them for all they do. In this time of our country we need to lift each other up.
You all are my favourites, Jill is so graceful, Tawra is so passionate, I love the rants, and dear Mike is so thoughtful protective and diplomatic. The perfect mix with a bit of humour thrown in.
In a world full of so much sad, you guys make me laugh. Cherish each other , my mom passed away 22 years ago and we used to spend so much time together. It was nice that she only lived 3 miles away.
Yes, in Iowa, Des Moines metro, I called all four major hospitals to check the price of a natural delivery for our baby and most quoted me over $18k. Broadlawns was only $5-9k (it is a cheaper hospital, and I only used it for the delvery and prenatal care since there a longer wait times for regularly scheduled things). But had an awesome experience. We also asked to leave after 24 hrs to keep costs down and we wanted to leave anyway, since praise the Lord we were both doing well.
My granddaughter “loves” your brownie recipe in Volume 1. For Christmas I’m making up the dry ingredients in mason jars for her so she can bake them to her heart delight!!! She will be thrilled!! Thank you 🙏
My friend tried to return something to Walmart and they literally would not take the return because it was past 30 days!!!! So definitely if people are shopping this holiday season pay attention to the rules on the receipts because Walmart apparently is cracking down I know they sometimes extend it for the holiday season but that's something to keep in mind. On your own stuff or receiving gifts that need exchanged or returned.
Walmart would not accept a return on the same day. My husband bought a video game for our grandson and asked the guy in the electronics area if it would work on an Xbox S and he said yes. When my husband got home I said that won’t work so he went right back to return it. They said it was a Black Friday item and couldn’t be returned. It was not on Black Friday it was a week later and he had the receipt and unopened. No even the manager said no. They told him to try at another store.
I wouldn't do the self-checkout at Dollar general because it said you can't return anything if you self check out -so I waited and waited and waited for a person to come check me out and one worker there said that I was ridiculous not to use the self-checkout. I wanted to wait to make sure I had the option to return something that might not work out....but I'm the ridiculous person for trying to follow their rules😂
Not related but what are you tips with removing labels without destroying boxes on presents. It angers me every year. Maybe put some in a Christmas video of tips. You all have so much wisdom between you!
I think the pricing on the receipt , the way it is arranged is about the programming of the registers. I think you are correct and it should be regulated. That soda sale was ridiculous because it is a Coca Coka product. There should be no difference in the type of soda. Sometimes clerks are misinformed about sales. It should say clearly in the advertising ( Dr Pepper only) . Buyer be aware. It's your money, be serious. Jill is spot on in her approach.
I remember someone saying 15 years ago to be careful buying gift cards at Walmart because they are out in the open and thieves can scan them and get the money after you load them. But it doesn’t make sense for the return gift cards unless they were once in display too.
I have had bad experience at Dollar Tree, cashier will run item several times if you don’t pay attention. It happens if I purchase $40. Or $50. Worth. First time I noticed I was all ready home, went back several weeks later. As soon as I got to my car I checked sure enough it happened again, had to go back into store for correction. Watch out.
I have started taking my small store ad with me when I go to Save A Lot. If I go to the "big town", I take it there too. I price matched Pepsi last week and Kroger was more expensive than the small town store. I buy it often for my husband. He drinks a small Pepsi at work. P.S I made your peanut butter cookies while I watched the rerun. Love you guys. Son in Law!! Now I know who got married. Congrats to them both! I've followed you guys for a lot time and you are like family to me, sort of. :)
I needed blood work done, decided to use the hospitals lab since it was all right there. Wrong move on my part, they wanted over $800 almost $900. I ranted to the lady and then asked for my lab paperwork and went down the road to another lab paid less than $80. Never had I heard such junk.
Thankfully our Aussie stores always show the price we paid & usually the discount amount that we saved next to it too & on the bottom of the receipt. Your receipts sure do sound like a minefield to work out what you actually paid! Good idea to complain about it! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Son in law?! When did Ellie get married? How did i miss that?!? Maybe my brain just forgot. Well congrats to them. 😂 Hope they are enjoying married life!
Here’s an idea. I’d love it if you did a show like this every week. Showing the sales ads. I don’t have Ridley’s but it looks like the same and as my broulims.
Harris Teeter is my local store and they do this. They are expensive so I only hit their big bargains. They don't show discounts until the very end. Also nowadays at a lot of registers you now can't see the prices as they are scanned!
Hello everyone, on topic but out of the box. I typically shop during the day, but a few times recently have went in after dinner and have noticed that a lot of deli items are marked down at that time. So maybe try shopping at different times of the day may provide opportunities to grab some good sale items.
Yes unless you really read certain grocery ads before you get to the store...it can be annoying. At Kroger especially...coupons have to be "clipped" and you also have to make sure you get your "5 items" to get off the extra $1 or so per item. Many times I've counted my 5 items wrong (or the store doesn't mark it right) andI didn't get the off amount!!! if you get ONE item wrong...you don't get the savings!!!! Of course, once I notice the mistake, I go back and they always fix it. The store is only 5 minutes away and sometimes I just wait until next time I go. I make sure to screenshot the coupons on my phone and bring the ad especially if it's after the ad expires. Still what a pain sometimes! ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS ONCE YOU GET HOME OR SOONER!!!!
I looked up the family Dollar Black Friday ad and sure enough Dr. Pepper was three for $11 but the sprite was with the Coke products and they were three for $12. That must be why the sprite wasn't included with the Dr. Pepper prices. Dr. Pepper is usually mixed in with the 7up
Our Publix raises the price on the first item before getting one free!! And they think we are too stupid to notice!! Their prices are increasing every week, so I notice!
If your in a state with sales tax and happen to be going between counties like I do about once a week I order my groceries in that county with lower sales taxes. It’s not about 10% vs 9.3% but it’s something! Just a thought that might help others.
At Kroger, I always check the receipt on the app. It shows the price you paid and what coupons were applied. I also scan things with the app to make sure they are included in sales.
my fave shows are with: Jill :) thank you for sharing such good insightful tips as always! btw, thanks, read 'When Queens Ride By" very beautiful and strong message, so true ♥
I think it is good you found a great ultra sound price. At least they all weren't charging 1200! We have insurance but we use it well. Well some of us do.
All stores are doing this now. You have to always look over what they charged you. I’ve gone to taking a picture of the price in the aisle of the tag and item. Then if there’s an overcharge I can point it out. If I get past the checker then I just go to the service decsk and get it taken care of. 😒
Yes,Safeway is really bad about their receipts. Every time we go we always have to go back in the store to get money back. It’s ridiculous! I tell my husband if we catch the wrong price think of how many don’t even look. The stores are making a killing off of people not paying attention to their receipts.
Yes! You amd mike ahoudl film various halmark movie scenes with your every day lives. 😂 You should do a grocery store one where you are both reaching for the same sale item.
Costco has medium clear totes in a three pack taht i really love. They are sturdy and stack well. It sounds like you are very visual person tawra. I'm not sure if you ever did that clutterbug quiz I'm a butterfly it means that I like visual things and I like macro categories like not super detailed catagories. I like how you said you were going to be put in your decorations away. I think that spunds great. And efficient. Especially nice if you just want to work on that specific thing and not have to dig through all your decorations first! Brilliant. And worth the full price if it is something that brings extreme value. Also it is nice to have containers at stack nice together. I have a few favorite containers that I go for. I have been getting more clear bins for things which has been nice to see what's in the bin. Particularly for holidays i have noticed. Good move! Future you will be thankful.
Funny how different ads can be so different. Our Albertsons ad has B/S chicken breast for 1.49 lb and 5 pound potato's for .97 cents. Yes, get a rag with some dawn dishsoap on it. Rub all the spots until they are gone. Rinse with a rag with clear water. Or...use a shopvac to clean it up.
I maKe my list and check prices at Wal-Mart and Kroger BEFORE I go. I write the prices on my list, in case its cheaper in the store ( by chance) 😄. Dollar Tree has some soup $1.25 muCh cheaper than either one. Same size too. Local butcher has better meat and I can track their prices.
Our Asda (used to be Walmart) I HATE IT with a passion!!! I've never seen so many brain-numb people in all my life. They stand around in the middle of the aisles, leaving their trolleys whilst they just go wandering off down another aisle. The amount of people who drop stuff and just walk off is astounding. Don't even get me started on the old people who push in line and load one item at a time at the checkout (NOT EVEN JOKING) Drives me to despair 😬 Then our other discount store Lidl...I went twice and never again! 1. Receipts are confusing. I have to really study them to check that I received my savings. Each store seems to have a different way of displaying the purchases and discounts. I estimate like you do.
Yeah the receipts need translated sometimes. I have seen things ring up wrong a lot more. Stores used to do price adjustments and now they don't like they used to because they are under staffed. This has been happening for the past three years. Definitely watch what things are written up as. And clearance items only rings up right half the time.
I just rewatched this. Was the cashier correct? You first stated I brought up to the register 5 Dr Pepper & 1 Sprite. They told you the sprite was incorrect, so you went and got 1 more Dr Pepper & 2 Sprites because of the good deal..which now makes a total of 9 12 packs. 3 pks are $11. Total would be $33 + tax
I’ve received a few gift card where they say nothing on them. Now I get all receipts if I’m giving a gift card and tape it to them in case of an issue.
Sounds terrible as a x-cashier I do self checkout I do my digital coupon items one at time for an example all the pasta sauce then I push total to see if the coupon comes then I go back and then do the next then push total on each and every one yes it takes longer but I know I walk out with the price I'm supposed to pay and I catch the mistake right away and make them fix it I know a lot of people don't like self checkout it's a lot easier than having to try and get your money back when they when they over charge and you have to stand in the customer service Booth waiting for your help
In Florida for the tuna in water only tuna and water the best price I have found 3 at .89 to .99 cent a can I don’t like great value brand I stock up when I find those
There is a bunch of halmark mivies on you tube if you need inspiration. Just gast forward to the baking scenes. You guys might need one of you to take a moment and step outside and look at the Christmas lights or the stars or the moon and contimplate your feelings for each other because you are confused now and your heart is yorm between teh big city and the small town life and family you never knew you needed. 😂
Tawra I’ve always said that you can’t teach common sense. I’ve worked retail and have been a cashier and people don’t know basic addition. Nobody can add! Most cashiers can’t do the math either. Now I check my receipt before I leave the store and always find a mistake!
I just ordered grapefruit on sale and because it was 1/2 price, the cost was 14.85 and a 4.99 charge since it wasn’t a min. Of 35.00. I tried canceling and/or adding and they wouldn’t allow it since pick up is in 4 hours. I bet y’all don’t do pick up. It’s frustrating. I would add but it’s not allowed even right after submitting order.
Dollar General atrocious with their not ringing up their sails, if you go into Dollar General to buy something on sale don't count on it, you can ring it up yourself or you can have the cashier ring it up it just does not come through, and then you're treated like crap when you question it
Maybe you shouldn't interact with other humans Tawra! 😂😂😂😂 Maybe your energy is screwing up the electronics. That happens to me all the time. I burn out light bulbs when i am angry. ⚡ Crazy how much stuff always happens!
I always thank cashiers, stockers, anyone that provides a service for me.
I thank them for all they do. In this time of our country we need to lift each other up.
I agree the cashiers and stockers are not responsible for prices, lack of staffing or out of stock items.
I agree
You all are my favourites, Jill is so graceful, Tawra is so passionate, I love the rants, and dear Mike is so thoughtful protective and diplomatic. The perfect mix with a bit of humour thrown in.
Nailed it 🎯🔨❤
Very well said!

You need to do a RANT on people at Walmart driving the electric carts!!!
Jill the blue shirt with white pearls looks so beautiful on you!❤
My granddaughter “loves” your brownie recipe in Volume 1. For Christmas I’m making up the dry ingredients in mason jars for her so she can bake them to her heart delight!!!
She will be thrilled!!
Thank you 🙏
Love that there are gift suggestions in the cookbooks! 🤩🙌💖
If you do your rant show, please be sure to say “get it together people” as many times as possible 😅❤
Jill, you look amazing tonight. I love pearls so classy

Sprite is a Coca-Cola product. Dr. Pepper is not a Coca-Cola product. Coca-Cola owns Mr. Pib a competitor of Dr. Pepper
You have to watch while items are being scanned at all stores. I started taking pictures if the sale tags with the sale items.
I remember someone saying 15 years ago to be careful buying gift cards at Walmart because they are out in the open and thieves can scan them and get the money after you load them. But it doesn’t make sense for the return gift cards unless they were once in display too.

I made your Turkey recipe and everyone loved it!

Just to let you know that my daughter works at family dollar and has told me that Dollar Tree owns family dollar. 😊
Looking forward to making you red hot Jello salad again for Christmas! Love your cookbooks!!!
I'm with you with the receipt it's getting horrible you can't tell the price at all. #1
Dollar General in Ohio just had a huge issue with the attorney general over false pricing
Harriet is great. I love watching her in hearings, questioning people. I live in Ks. But she is a prize.
Dollars general is doing the same thing.
Jill you look beautiful with your pearls!!! ❤
Jack has such a good sense of humor. 😂
Would love you to do a “rant series!!!”
Tawra, I know you don't like to rant, but oh my, they are the BEST shows. lol
Harris Teeter is my local store and they do this. They are expensive so I only hit their big bargains. They don't show discounts until the very end. Also nowadays at a lot of registers you now can't see the prices as they are scanned!
What a fun show. Thanks for the laughs. You aren’t wrong about the rants or rather subjects of the rants.
Hello everyone, on topic but out of the box. So maybe try shopping at different times of the day may provide opportunities to grab some good sale items.
I like the grocery audits find them informative.
I always round up to the next dollar than I feel like I spent less at the time of check out 😂😂😂
Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are the same company now. They even have combined stores now.
Yes starting to see that in Australia 🇦🇺 trying to work out prices is ridiculous

Thanks for the show! I enjoy listening to all of them. 🙂
my fave shows are with: Jill :) thank you for sharing such good insightful tips as always! btw, thanks, read 'When Queens Ride By" very beautiful and strong message, so true ♥
Oh my goodness! I belly laughed when you said you might become a minimalist. 😂😂😂
I think it is good you found a great ultra sound price. At least they all weren't charging 1200! We have insurance but we use it well. Well some of us do.
But also the before explanation of benefits price statements are horrifying!
All stores are doing this now. You have to always look over what they charged you. I’ve gone to taking a picture of the price in the aisle of the tag and item. Then if there’s an overcharge I can point it out. If I get past the checker then I just go to the service decsk and get it taken care of. 😒

I tell my husband if we catch the wrong price think of how many don’t even look. The stores are making a killing off of people not paying attention to their receipts.
Bird sounds in the background are so funny. 🤣
I only shop sale items because they are so much higher on everything else. When you talked about the ultrasound I can so relate. For my 6month checkup mamo grams they booked it at the hospital. They wanted an extra 600 for doing it here. I told them no and booked it with one not located in the hospital and it cost me 40.00 for the mamo. But when you do anything on hospital grounds it cost so much more. My oncology dr is 600.00 per visit cash price. I had no choice but to get on insurance.
This is why I like to go to my local amish store. Im able to see them type in the price with each individual item. If they type in the wrong price I can stop them right there
If you don’t have any credit save all your cancelled checks for rent, oil, phone etc at least 12 months. The hard part is to find a bank that hand underwriters like Carrington. Call a mortgage broker in your area they can help you. I’m an MLO/underwriter
Yes it’s happening here in Missouri also….If your a senior it’s even more confusing and I get out the calculator when I get home to check the prices. how would you like to go to a town and country type store….a certain brand men’s sock was on sale but at the cash register the checker said only the size large was on sale…not the small medium or the extra large size…JUST the large..what? that was the most confusing and outrageous sale …the sale add did not indicate the large size only. But the checker was right and the customer was wrong!
Do you have any homemade cleaning remedies for cleaning a couch?
Yes, get a rag with some dawn dishsoap on it. Rub all the spots until they are gone. Rinse with a rag with clear water. Or...use a shopvac to clean it up.
@@LivingOnADime Thank you so much!
Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are owned by the same company as of a couple years ago
Don't even get me started on the old people who push in line and load one item at a time at the checkout (NOT EVEN JOKING)
Drives me to despair 😬 Then our other discount store Lidl...I went twice and never again! Kids in pjs running around barefoot shopping with their mother. Another old man touching his crotch and touching produce 🤢 I walked out never went back and never will.
I hate shopping 🤣
Tawra, we don't have coupons in Australia. I usually shop at Aldi. Melbourne Australia
Tarwa, 11+11=37 is Bidenomics!😂
I just rewatched this. Was the cashier correct? You first stated I brought up to the register 5 Dr Pepper & 1 Sprite. They told you the sprite was incorrect, so you went and got 1 more Dr Pepper & 2 Sprites because of the good deal..which now makes a total of 9 12 packs. 3 pks are $11. Total would be $33 + tax
I was wondering where the Birds were...lol
I save $62-$68 on my groceries bill at Krogers plus save 0.20 on gas from geting the points
Big yes, but I also watch the items as they are being rung up and now I can no longer get see the prices...only a total at the end.....
I live in northern Michigan and I've been finding things with no prices on them at all I have to ask
Same here in lower Michigan.
Tawra I thought you said you got 6 Dr. Pepper and 3 Sprite. Wouldn’t that be $33 plus tax?
LOL maybe I did. I don't remember I'm out of it. :-)
I check the computer when checking out. Also, if I notice a sale, like B1G1 free then I'll tell the cashier to check it.
I was wondering about the bird sounds. It just kept singing on and on and on.
I’ve received a few gift card where they say nothing on them. Now I get all receipts if I’m giving a gift card and tape it to them in case of an issue.
wow, your prices are so much lower than where I live in Michigan! I agree, receipts are not clear!
You are great company. I do the same thing for the exact same reason . And I also am an ex cashier.
Very confusing to read receipt! Especially Kroger and Albertsons
Mike popping up and waving…. Lol
Tawra I’ve always said that you can’t teach common sense. I’ve worked retail and have been a cashier and people don’t know basic addition. Nobody can add! Most cashiers can’t do the math either. Now I check my receipt before I leave the store and always find a mistake!
I just walk into the fitting rooms if no one is there and they are unlocked. I have tk try clothes on.
lol, that was a good one, Jack🤣🤣🤣
My store rings up the regular price, then when they press Total, it will print the sale price. But at each entry, the regular price shows.
I think the attorney general in your state needs to hear about the family dollars actions. That’s not right, we all deserve better than that.
What you think reading books or iBook or kindle???
Tawra, Can I make Gluten Free Bread in a Bread making Machine?????
No, I don't want Tawra ranting or saying Get it together people, YUCK. I have lived through it once.
😂 watch out Mike with those math skills. Lol he is gonna get the rant instead. Tawra is on a rantpage- a rant rampage.
Another great video. Entertaining while being educational. ❤️👍
14.95 for 5 five lb bags. I should add
There is a Gift card scam happening, even when you buy them
Dollar General atrocious with their not ringing up their sails, if you go into Dollar General to buy something on sale don't count on it, you can ring it up yourself or you can have the cashier ring it up it just does not come through, and then you're treated like crap when you question it
1 Kroger does this
Hello 😁
Maybe you shouldn't interact with other humans Tawra! 😂😂😂😂 Maybe your energy is screwing up the electronics. That happens to me all the time. I burn out light bulbs when i am angry. ⚡ Crazy how much stuff always happens!
