"Settle & Carlisle Pullman" Exeter to Carlisle & return on the recreated 1960s iconic Blue Pullman.

Leaving Exeter St David's at 05.35 the supurbly turned-out recreated luxury Blue Pullman train took the route through Bristol and up Lickey bank to Birmingham and onward to Crewe and north through Blackburn. Joining the Settle and Carlisle route at Hellifield the train then traversed this scenic route in good weather, passing a southbound steam train en-route! A two hour stop at Carlisle preceded the return journey which was via the West Coast main-line over Shap with magnificent views of the setting sun en-route.

Thanks Andy for the filming of the journey. Perhaps more interior shots and details of the on-board service, meals and general ambiance would have been good, with less emphasis on the passing scenery. However, a great video and thanks again for recording it.
