I remember equinox because the prefix “equi”-so there is equal amounts of day and night (sun and dark). Summer solstice has the most daylight, and winter is the least amount. Those super short days right before Christmas! ♥️

Fête is pronounced "Fat" but with a t that's more silent/soft more like a "th".
Currently in my mom phase loving it, but missing having time to just breathe and take care of myself or enjoy time with friends. Ugh just feeling lonely, but I am very greatful to be a mom. These videos just give me hope that I could have more of a social life one day

Hi Allison, I truly enjoy watching your videos, and they area so inspiring. Just love love how you decorated front office and love love the idea of the branch hanging from your ceiling with the dry ferns and lights. It just gave it the right touch and perfect for a party. Really?? Fête is french and it's pronounced "fet" (/fɛt/). Almost same pronunciation as "let" as in let's go 😊
I think it is a much more common word in the UK; so it makes sense that it would have a naturalized pronunciation. I have always heard Fête pronounced the French way in the US (rhyming with let as Meron said). Very cute either way. Of course it is that Romance language thing where we get our words festival etc from the same root.
Also find it interesting how they pronounce equinox in the US. In Britain we say eh- quin-ox (eh rhyming with yay!)

Try green figs! I haven’t had much luck with the purple ones, but Whole Foods had green ones that were soooo sweet and delicious!
figs are my favorite fruit! it is usually a hit and miss with the sweetness, some will be bland and others will be super sweet. try different varieties too! (black figs, green figs) When they’re softer they tend to be more sweet

The equinox of fall and spring mean that the sun is directly over the equator giving equal hours of light and dark. Where as the solstice of summer and winter give us the longest and shortest day of sunlight respectfully. Its all about the sun ☀️ our warming goddess.

In Germany we have something called Flammkuchen. There is a classical one but you can do whatever you like. We make a Flammkuchen with pumpkin, figs, rosemary and creme fraiche salt and pepper when autumn comes. It‘s my little tradition.

Figs are one of my favorite fruits (so are dragon fruits)! I can’t tell in the video what type of fig that is, but you should try Black Mission Figs they’re so delicious and sweet (not earthy)! Love love love your videos Allison!! 🤗
I didn't like figs the first time I tried them because they were store bought. Then I tried them fresh off the free and they are my absolute favorite! It is fig season in the pacific northwest and I am always surprised at how many I can find around my neighborhood.
Girl every time you do this, I just want you to try taping the paper lengthwise not width wise on your dining room table! I just think it would go so much faster for you!!

On figs…my parents have a giant fig tree at their house in Georgia that produces the sweetest figs around mid to late July that are so good I used to eat bowlfuls at a time. But all the store bought ones I’ve tried don’t have a ton of flavor. It probably doesn’t help that it’s kind of past their growing season now also. Hopefully you’ll get to try a super sweet fig one day. And honestly they might grow well in your yard since they do so well in Georgia, if you had room to plant your own little fig tree.
You can tie them on the with zip ties and it works amazing. Get black ones.Everything looked amazing and I think everyone had fun.
