Yeah I remember them in the 80s but what I didn’t like about the band was the fact that they diss included the woman who actually sang the song everybody dance now and how rude and disrespectful they were to her for who she was and the size that she was it shouldn’t of mattered but I guess for the record label it did and that is where they were being extremely Discourteous rude disrespectful and outright nasty towards a woman who actually sang the song it’s not even giving her credit for even singing it much less putting her in the actual video because they were concerned with the reputation as a band and the record label was concerned that they won’t be able to market her because of her size BS.
There’s reason why they we’re able to be successful as a band it’s called karma and karmas a bitch

That was one major issue with the industry... they felt that no fat person (female that is) could ever get anyone to listen nor buy their music. So, they would get thin, highly attractive women to lip-sync on stage and in the music videos, etc.. So, the thin girl would be known as the lady with the voice when it wasn't her at all. Sadder yet, the actual female singer would be paid a lot less than the female pretending to be the singer. Music industry would tell those whom in their opinion were unattractive but had a great talent... that they ONY way they could ever "make it" was to just be the person behind it all and a plus side to that is they would still be able to be out in the world without being harassed and they had no reason to ever have to learn dance routines etc.. and best of all they could eat whatever they wanted, no diets. Then the famous saying, "if you decide not to, you most likely will never get the chance again". Sadly, society made this all okay instead of just accepting people as they are.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good video work and information regarding C&C Music Factory. The only issue that I have with C&C and the other groups is that they wanted Martha Washington's awesome voice in their record. However, they had the audacity not to give her the credits that she deserved. If you listen to any of these called music groups the main artist who cares the song is Martha Washington period. Having said that, MW has a distinctive sound which anyone can tell is her, however, the discrimination of black obesity women is beyond comprehension. Needless to say, I'm glad MW sued all of these individuals that thought they could get away with pushing her to the curve, once she agree to sing for them and made them rich & famous.

The controversy over Martha Wash not being visualized was in the news at the time. If I remember correctly, by the second C&C Music Factory video, the credits had Martha Wash's name but also pointed out that her voice was "visualized" by the other. The same happened with Technotronic's "Pump Up the Jam" video.
By the time the second C&C album came out, the pop music landscape had just changed. 1990 to mid-1991 was practically a completely different era than what came after it.

LOVED C & C!! IMO their music still rocks. Of course, breakin out the old dance moves is forbidden by my 2 teens LOL! I didn't know that about the "singer switch' or whatever you'd like to call it, reminds me of Milli Vanilli. I was a HUGE fan of theirs & I never understood why they were so persecuted. They looked great, the songs sounded awesome whether they were singing or not. Who cares?!! I was more mad at the persecution than the perceived deception, I just wanted more music from them! I still occasionally play their music today without shame or guilt. They were truly set up, the carrot was dangled in front of them who's going to say no at that age? If the fan base was going to be mad it should've been at Frank Farian. I was devastated when Rob committed suicide, poor guy just couldn't seem to recover from that. Anywho, enough rambling this video just brought back that memory. As always thanks for the video Lamont-- love, hugs & God Bless you 💕💕

I congratulate you (from Romania) for your material (the best I've seen so far in my opinion, there is another tutorial that impressed me, I'm sending you the link below, that one calmed me down because I was already getting nervous and I didn't know how to react. .. not to be kicked off You Tube because the first tutorials I had seen put C&C Music Factory and obviously Zelma Davis and Freedom Williams in a bad light but now I'm really relieved to see the material posted by you and the way... the voice... Well done, I thought to myself that you are still right in this world, let's not leave those who are probably not able to do anything other than make themselves noticed by gossip, rumours... and I'll stop here because again I might say the wrong thing. I subscribed to your channel and will follow your posts. (Yesterday I turned 59 and there is no seven hand I don't listen to C&C Music Factory with Zelma Davis and Freedom Williams and... I live in the country, but Spotify is always with me in my foot pocket at home, I have an Akai line... professional. but I don't have time like 20 years ago except on weekends or when it rains. I talked too much, but I got carried away by liking your material. Continued success in everything you do and maximum health to you and your loved ones.

I remember hearing this story. It’s sad that because of her appearance she was not given her time to shine. Used her gift to help others benefit.

Hey Lamont! Great job once again. I remember all these groups. Martha Wash did sue and won as well as has a great solo career. My favorite song from one of here solo CDs is named "Carry On". Give it a listen it is such an uplifting song, better than the music out these days.

I wasn't aware that happened to Martha! She deserves recognition for her voice, regardless to everything else, they should be ashamed and fair play to you Martha 👏 x
