I agree she should have sued them. She was the one with the talent not getting credit. They did kind of what Milli Vanilli did, well sort of with the fake lip syncing.
The young generation are blown away by Beyoncé singing. Martha Wash vocals will run circles around Beyoncé. Martha Wash never got her credit for her incredible voice because of her weight.
Amen to me Beyonce still ain't t as good as Monica Brandy Aaliyah and others in her generation class she wasn't even the best in the original group but she had the backing and marketing.
These groups tried to do a Milli Vanilli on Martha Wash & she was not having it. I don't blame her for suing. The music industry pays too many games with artists.

So, they would get thin, highly attractive women to lip-sync on stage and in the music videos, etc.. So, the thin girl would be known as the lady with the voice when it wasn't her at all. Music industry would tell those whom in their opinion were unattractive but had a great talent... that they ONY way they could ever "make it" was to just be the person behind it all and a plus side to that is they would still be able to be out in the world without being harassed and they had no reason to ever have to learn dance routines etc.. and best of all they could eat whatever they wanted, no diets. Then the famous saying, "if you decide not to, you most likely will never get the chance again". Sadly, society made this all okay instead of just accepting people as they are.
Oh wow! I just went to David Cole's wikipedia page. That massive 90s hit "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, which once had the all time record for most consecutive weeks as the #1 song on the Billboard charts, was written by Ms. Carey in memory of Mr. Cole.
I remember this group appearing on 'The Arsenio Hall Show' after the scandal broke. Arsenio asked them what was going on and it turned out to be what everyone thought - it was about protecting their image.
C+C was the group back in the 80’s, they also had a song called “Do You wanna get Funky “ was the jam, C+C and the group “ Black Box” was killing it back in the 80’s and 90’s. Thanks a lot Lamont for doing a piece on this group, R I P David Cole, I wonder what Robert Clivelles is up to these days.

They were good, but short lived. It is the kind of genre that doesn't get much loyalty from a fan base. I just thought C & C Music Factory faded away, never to be heard from again.
Thank you Lamont. I loved C&C. I was very disappointed when I found out that they didn't credit Martha Wash with singing. I'm glad that she sued. Her voice is phenomenal in my opinion.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good video work and information regarding C&C Music Factory. The only issue that I have with C&C and the other groups is that they wanted Martha Washington's awesome voice in their record. However, they had the audacity not to give her the credits that she deserved. If you listen to any of these called music groups the main artist who cares the song is Martha Washington period. Having said that, MW has a distinctive sound which anyone can tell is her, however, the discrimination of black obesity women is beyond comprehension. Needless to say, I'm glad MW sued all of these individuals that thought they could get away with pushing her to the curve, once she agree to sing for them and made them rich & famous.
