I've had my 2001 Fazer for coming up on 17 years (bought used in 2007) and love this bike and have ridden it across North America and it is still going strong and still turns heads!
Love my 2001 FZ1. Years ago I Bought it new, black. I put 4 coats of clear on it with the first coat violet pearl added.all carbon fiber insets/fenders etc, pearl clear on them as well. Even though the bike is 24 years old it looks brand new. I get compliments ALL the time. I pulled into a Motorsports the other day and the mechanic came out to see the bike. I have a To Yoshimira slip on and he said" I heard that sound and had to see it" There is talk about Yamaha dropping a new FZ1 2025-26. Love to see that
I had an '02 FZ1 from 2004-2--007. Awesome bike. Since then I've had an FJR1300, a VStrom 650 and now, many years later, another FZ1, this time an '05. I had forgotten how STRONG this thing is. I can't wait until I get a few things taken care of and better weather gets here. FZoomZoom.
It have a cool color... Silver but with a black engine.... In 2013 I drives a Fazer in silver with silver engine..... I loved this bike so much...... In 2915 I drive a Fz1 but the engine is to much sporty..... No nm.... And so I buy me a 1250 Bandit..... And now I drives Bmw GSA 1200...... But still I missed my old Fazer...... I drives 50.000 km with no Problems.-.
First generation Fazer is an awesome bike,have mine for over 14 years and wouldnt change it for anything on 2 wheels,

I’ve yet to find one video or one forum of anyone saying anything bad about the gen 1 fz1 I have a 02 and love it and plan on keeping it for awhile
