@@mentalwarfare2038 "More like the corpse is missing,"
If not 3 different preachers of local circumstances were actively confused at the actual time period several years before the texts were made up to begin with.
      "and the corpse is walking,"
Nope as texts being esotheric and written years LATER in harbor towns of a different country (GREECE) are just not evidence for any actual circumstances in a different country several years prior without any newspapers or fact checking around. And where people were easily to be deluded like even rich educated writers thinking the emperor of rome would have been a deity in the flesh as well.
When the rich and educated were duped into things, poor people would eat anything - even that the earth is flat like today with thousands of believers around the globe in the 21th century.
"and the corpse is convincing people that it's alive,"
As the encounters are made up years after the supposed time periods there were no actual people convincing anything about that BEFORE cult indoctrination and MAKE BELIEF kicked in in circles of people believing all kinds of weird stuff.
There is a very interesting passage in the Gospels where Jesus drives out a demon from a possessed person called "legion", who then directs the demon into a few thousand pigs (that alone is an absurdly funny story) which then drown.
Let's ignore how absurd this demon talk is and how the poor pigs are treated in a place where animal rights are not a priority and anyway the animals were always considered unclean.
The parable is based on the fact that the legion with the boar's head, Legio X Fretensis, defeated the Zealots at the Sea of Galilee, where the legion's camp was stationed around 20 years after the crucifixion had already taken place.
But the legion with the pig's head unfortunately won a short time later against the zealot and was not drowned. ;-)
If you were to create a more updated counter-parable that reflected the actual facts in symbolic imagery the gospel writers invented, you would write - and the pigs took a sharp left turn (reateat to ceasarea the second city with that name) before any drowning and ate the people and it was a huge mess for the benefit of the new Caesar (Vespasian).
From this little story in the gospels you can deduce that the Gospels contain parables that Jesus is said to have spoken, which dealt with contemporary historical events that took place after his death (setting up the camp 20 years after the crucifix event) BUT BEFORE the battle (Zealots) of a certain army at Genezareth (the victory of the Fretensis "Pig" legion).
That is why the texts are also not any "eyewitnesses" but well crafted storytelling by some more sophisticated greek speaking deceivers to fool and coordinate cult efforts within a climate of persecution by imperialists.
You are going to hear active running away strategies from the utterly meanignlessness of the menmade scribbles called gospels by christians as bad excuse makers, due to the main goal to not to face the a-historical nature of the texts.
Like if the legion did drown at ceasarea at genezareth as just a more profound example how the texts were crafted and manipulated to fitt narratives.
Like you have today some weird texts of reptilian shapeshifters present in comment sections with some references to us-american politicians and politics, which are also not true, despite of being contemporary, as the writers making those texts up are just esotheric weirdoes with snippets of newspaper headlines in them.
This is how the new testament with the gospels and letters is also such a text just from a different time.
Like you have a time capsula of cult nonsense talk.
Only that the cultists fabricating those texts back the day did not indoctrinate people about that an UFO behind some meteroid is beaming them away or that Joe Biden is a reptile shapeshifter, but about paradise kingdoms to come and corpses rasing and walking through streets and whatnot which all never existed.
"and the corpse is fundamentally changing an antagonistic Jewish society from the ground up."
Hahaha. You are kinda cute how you try to defense your falsely imprinted emotions to men written scribbles compeltely detached from how judaism did work in the past and the roman war efforts in that region did cause a crisis in meaing in life for messianic cultists as they did not win the battles and complain a lot about their horrific situations within an imperialistic dominionhood.
      Plain and simple.
This is why the shift from "oh the kingdom comes when you won't taste death" at that time to
"there need to be a second coming...there just need to be! Any time now...then everything comes true with honey and and justic for the injust...trust me bro...I have there my tummy feelings...any time now"
developed. This is why it is so ridiculous.
Similar how in the 18th century as a sinfulness crisis in us american christianity came up with technology development and the idea of the rapture became a thing for the mass cult sermons.
Before this time basically all of christendom never heard of the rapture idea as it was something obscure.
But evangelicals made that a running gag especially with the left behind book series to sell this idea as it would have been always a main teaching of christian apocalypticism and not some lone weirdo coming up with the idea in the 18th century to spread in hillybilly towns to bleed into the mainstream.
You can even interpret the texts of supposed Jesus death sightings in the gospels like when Maria Magdalene did not recognize Jesus in a stranger as example to:
She saw in the eyes and appearence of 1 strange dude just the rebellion and freedom spirit as "Jesus" as a pure metaphor for the unbroken resistence of their group still alive or "reborn" even after grief not to fall into eternal despair after the romans smashed their homes, enslaved their brothers and sisters and suppressed their hopes.Basically: "Jesus all around" as the old version of "Even strangers/roman citizens on the streets do recognize there is a lot unjust going on right now. We are not alone!"
That went overboard. Like the rapture idea to have even movies and tv shows 200 years later.
"But I guess all of that is because I'm selfish and afraid of death..."
Yes. That is why you think esotheric gibberish texts about stars falling from the sky at imaginary world endings and corpses rising magically and dead people would speak would not be as completely absurd as any person claiming Biden would be a reptilian shapeshifter or that behind the next comet is an UFO waiting to beam you up.
Or to make it short: Learn that those old texts with fantastical stuff are nonsense alone by the fantastical nature of it. LOL

Paul and Satan’s objection to Trent Horn’s comment about genre and that not everything should be taken literally is telling, because Trent is explaining the Catholic position which is supported by writings of church fathers.
I think ex-fundamentalist logic goes like this:
    1) Fundamentalism teaches me the Bible needs to be literally interpreted.
    2) Non-fundamentalists (who don’t interpret it that way are adopting a new, wrong exegesis.
    3) Fundamentalism is wrong, therefore Christianity is not true.
Once they get to “fundamentalism is wrong”, they don’t go back and assess claims of other Christians. They still hold to their fundamentalist view of other Christians and skip right over figuring out if #2 is also wrong.
Lots of former fundamentalist Christians on RUclips (Genetically Modified Skeptic, Prophet of Zod, Paulogia…) are still fundamentalists - they just appear to be incapable of realizing they’re still trapped in their original paradigm. I feel bad for them and people who find their arguments convincing - a big reason the arguments feel convincing to them is that they’re still trapped in a deeply flawed worldview that hasn’t “fundamentally” changed since they were kids.

What I discovered is in his mindset there are two and only two options - one is that the theory of evolution by natural selection is a perfected, inerrant view of how we got here. The other is that the Bible is the inerrant word of God and must be interpreted literally. Since I rejected the former, by default I MUST believe the latter. The idea that someone could hold that Genesis is metaphorical and the theory of evolution is a deeply flawed (but still useful) model was beyond his ability to comprehend.

Here are some of those hated ad hominem (or ad institution) attack that atheists prefer to use. In Croatia we have proper theological college programs and history university programs.
This quoted study came from an institution renounced even by mainstream marxist humanistic university. The nonsense produced by Hrvatski studiji is just a word salad divorced from reality. Serbian and Croatian humanistic Universities are biased Marxist seminaries without any objective scientific value, "Hrvatski studiji" are far worse than our bad Humanistic universities. They allow 19th century political pamphlets as historical sources, give greater gravity to contemporary stories and known imagined stories than medieval contemporary witness and documents. To back the activist narratives, they would rather deny reality and proclaim all historical documents as forgeries. It has happened numerous times already. Professors don't even check the validity of students literature. Anything goes as long as it is in the desidered narrative. contemporary
Back in 2002. when proud to be a Catholic rector wanted to introduce a standardized IQ test as a prerequisite for philosophy-based courses, a general riot broke out. More than 60% of all A-graded students couldn't pass the simplest cognitive competencies test. Since then, we started to hear stories about different types of IQ. Accent was switched from IQ to EI or SI (Emotional and Social intelligence).
Hrvatshi studiji is unprofessional atttempt of Croatian "conservative nationalists" to have cheap undisciplined diploma factory.
With each generation, things are getting worse after 14 Years of public education people are still illiterate and can't write proper Essays while language professors are focused more on ideology and activism rather than on producing quality students. 15:54 Trent Horn is an inerrantist. He holds to the dogmas of the Catholic faith regarding scriptural inerrancy.
    Here are relevant magisterial documents:
“For all the books which the Church receives as sacred and canonical are written wholly and entirely, with all their parts, at the dictation of the Holy Ghost; and so far is it from being possible that any error can co-exist with inspiration, that inspiration not only is essentially incompatible with error but excludes and rejects it as absolutely and necessarily, as it is impossible that God Himself, the supreme Truth, can utter that which is not true. . . . It follows that those who maintain that an error is possible in any genuine passage of the sacred writings either pervert the Catholic notion of inspiration or make God the author of such error.” -Providentissimus Deus, 20-21
“For as the substantial Word of God became like to men in all things, except sin, so the words of God, expressed in human language, are made like to human speech in every respect, except error” -Divino Afflante Spiritu, 37

    • @graysonguinn1943
      @graysonguinn1943 24 дня назад

There are Catholics who don’t hold to biblical inerrancy, such as Fr Raymond Brown a Catholic New Testament scholar. The catechism says ‘we must acknowledge that the books of Scripture firmly, faithfully, and without error teach that truth which God, for the sake of our salvation, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures’ which specifies that it is the truth that was put in the scripture for salvation purposes which is inerrant, not necessarily general information about history and so on. It’s open for Catholics to take either position so long as they affirm the doctrinal teaching of the Bible

    • @carsonianthegreat4672
      @carsonianthegreat4672 24 дня назад +2

@@graysonguinn1943 Fr. Raymond Brown believes a lot of heterodox positions. He is not in line with Catholic teaching on this point.
Also, Trent Horn explicitly believes in biblical inerrancy. He has done a video on it.
You are misunderstanding the Catechism in this point. The original Latin is more clear. It is quoting Vatican II, Dei Verbum, which does NOT teach that biblical inerrancy extends only to soteriology. Rather, it teaches that biblical inerrancy extends to all assertions made in scripture. Vatican II, references this doctrinal declaration from Pope Leo XIII:
“For all the books which the Church receives as sacred and canonical are written wholly and entirely, with all their parts, at the dictation of the Holy Ghost; and so far is it from being possible that any error can co-exist with inspiration, that inspiration not only is essentially incompatible with error but excludes and rejects it as absolutely and necessarily, as it is impossible that God Himself, the supreme Truth, can utter that which is not true…It follows that those who maintain that an error is possible in any genuine passage of the sacred writings either pervert the Catholic notion of inspiration or make God the author of such error (Providentissimus Deus, 20-21).”
Your common misconception in the Latin grammar was explained well by Hahn:
“[T]he grammar of the text does not in fact delimit the kind of truth under discussion. The prepositional phrase nostrae salutis causa, “for the sake of our salvation,” functions as an adverbial phrase modifying the verbal expression, consignari voluit, “wished to be recorded.” As such, it elucidates the purpose behind God’s desire to put his truth in the Bible without differentiating between different classes of truths it may be said to express.”
Vatican II, and thus the Catechism, explicitly affirms biblical inerrancy on all scriptural assertions of truth, whether or not they are soteriological. Catholics are obligated to hold to inerrancy thusly. That is not to deny the importance of understanding genre in scripture. Biblical inerrancy does not deny the existence of metaphors, poetry, or even hyperbole in scripture. It merely means that all assertions of truth within scripture are inerrant.

That would in no way force me to follow him. It in no way affects my free will. It just lets me know he is real. The fact the scripture has to be interpreted will always make me think it wrong. A parent given lesson or message to a child has zero interpretation involved. And gods lessons should be able to be understood by a child. Or he is a bad teacher.

The more vague points of scripture may be up for interpretation but they are by no means affecting its core message. Thats like asking exactly "how old is frodo baggins" sure its a interesting question but it does not change the fact he traveled the world to destroy the ring and save middle earth. Now to your point of divine hiddeness, God did reveal himself through Jesus that is your writing in the sky so to speak. If God were to reveal himself it would be coarsion, sure he could do that but how genuine would this new batch of followers be? God wants our love to be as genuine and as true as his own and with that great love comes great trust for the promises made in the covenant of Jesus Christ.

@prestonyannotti7661 The coercion theory doesn't fit since the whole Hell thing supposedly exists. If you don't love and accept God, you go to hell. So yeah. We are already coerced. God taking away all doubt would only help his creation. It could not hurt us. The world would become a much better place with free will still intact.
The need for interpretation only leads to division and doubt. I get the fact that he laid down rules and tells how to follow them. The rest is just fluff that leads to confusion? Maybe it would be better to remove all that entirely? Not to mention a good portion of the interpretation and contradictions found in the bible are directly related to Jesus' fulfilling prophecy. The revelation of God through Jesus that you speak of. This should be rock solid. Anyone who does not believe is not unreasonable by any means. A message written across the sky would be no different than a man being resurrected from the dead. A miracle. Only it would truly be God's writing. Not man writing "God inspired" contradiction filled stories that have not been proven.
Thank you for your correspondence. I appreciate a tactful trade of thoughts.

@@williammceuen8831 Your really begging the question dude. First Hell doesn't neccesarily have to be eternal torture forever with litteral fire and big red demons thats just how many decide to frame it. Hell is intentionally vague in its description but from what we can know Hell is a choice and everyone who goes there prefers it. Hell is locked from the inside as the great C.S lewis put it. Its a place that God rejects a place where sin is kept. Its only painful because you have realization of you're own wickedness.
The need for interpretation is logical. Why wouldnt it be? Do we not interpret everything? All things visible are interpreted, nobody is going to hell because they believe genesis 1 is metaphorical or not. Nobody will go to hell for being of a different denomination. Sure its annoying that infighting happens but thats just a inherent fact of human nature. So again 2nd or 3rd level dissagreements while divisive aren't the end all be all. Now for the rest being"fluff" you are seriously must have not intentively read much on theology but this fluff is extrordinarily helpful and is the frame work for so many historical and theological systems taking those away would take away all of western ethics. Jesus didn't come to tell everyone to be nice and to be peaceful(even if thats important) he came for the redemption of mankind not to rehash some mushy hippy sentiments. Now saying the bible is wrong because of some alleged contradictions is just a pathetic sentiment. Thats like me saying the earth is flat because i cant see the curverture, im merely missing the bigger picture just as many biblical critics do when they cherry pick verses they hardly understand

      @prestonyannotti7661 Please excuse my paraphrasing.
"Hell doesn't have to be torture and fire."
-Torment, lake of fire, bottomless pit, is the few ways the bible depicts hell. I don't know anyone who would choose this.
      "Do we not interpret everything"
-So this means that everything is subjective. Including the logic you spoke of in the statement you made. But I'll bet you think morality is objective. No interpretation is needed there, correct?
"Infighting is a fact of human nature"
-Who created everything that exists in creation, including humans and nature, according to you? If it exists and is not directly related to nature, that would make it supernatural.
      "Western ethics"
-Born in ancient Greece. Philosophical Giants Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and like minded birthed what we adopted as Western ethics. No historical evidence shows any of those 3 to study or reference the old testament. Probably because the genocide, Grape, and slavery that is committed and or condoned by your God.
      "Alleged contradictions=pathetic sentiment."
Literal, historical, archeological contradictions hold enough weight to keep your religion faith based and not fact based.
"Cherry pick verses they hardly understand"
-Seeing as it's all interpretation then there will never be an agreement on what it means. You "beg the question" by saying anyone hardly understands something that is subjective.

I'm sorry, but these arguments are as infantile as that guy who thought Drywood saved IP from killing a man the other day on stream. I mean these are really bad arguments they are making and I am NOT using hyperbole in my previous sentence. I mean it fully and completely that the guy who thought IP was wanting to murder someone in that recent live stream you did about that video with "DRYWOOD" had a more well thought out and intelligent argument than Paulogia and the other guy's arguments. I mean this is actually embarrassing how bad it is to the point I agree, this seems like either willful ignorance or downright propaganda. Also, and this is a pet peeve of mine, they actually don't seem to understand what evidence is when they say "we have no evidence". Point of contention around the 1 hour mark for Testify.
I have heard some argue, since you're using matthew, and supposedly matthew came after mark, that the change in language between 1st and 2nd thesolonians also applies to matthew. It was written after a little time had passed with no sign from Jesus, so they changed what Jesus said to make it less imminent.

I guess the question is whether the Bible is divinely inspired? Do you think a God would make his book clear, plain and understandable for the people of that time and for thousands of years later? Did God know people would honestly misinterpret his words throughout the centuries? Did he know translators with PHDs would mistranslate his words? Did he know the original copies of his words would be lost? Did he know there would be scribal errors and did nothing about it? Did he know his bible is not univocal and have passages that seem to contradict each other? Did he know people would need to write thousands of books trying to explain away these apparent contradictions? Did he know atheists today would point to all these problems and lead Christians away? Must be part of his divine plan? Some good will come out of this mess?

I will give Paulogia a break in one regard. While he always tears down and never really makes arguments of his own, he does view his positions as "scholarly consensus/majority" so maybe he just doesn't ever feel the need to flesh out positions. He might see majority/consensus as a good reason not to support his one liner summarizations. Presenting arguments in depth might be seen as unnecessary to him and out of scope because those arguments are established elsewhere.

"I'm not doubting scripture, I'm doubting your ability to interpret it property". A little judgmental, but ok. "No one reads the bible completely literally, that's absurd". People absolutely read the bible literally and have for a very long time to the detriment of themselves, their community, and their families. And no, not everyone understands metaphors and hyperbole like you say. Some people only believe what they hear and want to hear from their pastors/church leaders and it's exactly why they are referred to as literalists, also known as fundamentalists.
