When I was a kid in the 90s I loved watching these 2 late at night when I couldn’t sleep. I think they’re one of the main reasons I love movies so much. I wish they were still around to rate the absolute garbage coming out in 2024.
They would be cancelled and replaced.
They were rubes that followed the crowd.
Such a pleasure to watch two people 20 years in to their careers at the top of their game
"Kids today are too smart for Pauly Shore." Ebert was always great with the burns.
Sadly, both of them were not around in 2015, because I would've loved to see their reviews of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Long long gone…
“We’ve seen what movies became. We’re fine being dead.” -the ghosts of Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert (probably)
Gene and Roger slapped Charlie Murphy even harder than Rick James did.
😂😂😂
What did the two thumbs say to the movie?
It Stinks!!
That was coldblooded 😂😂
That’s crazy Eddie Murphy took Gene’s advice and did Bowfinger as the second lead just a few years later. Great movie.
“She just doesn’t look good. I’m talking about her face”. Lol😮😂💀
She was a little hard/strong in the face
Impressive how Stallone says 'I DIDNT BREAK THE LAW! I AM THE LAW!' out of the side of his mouth like a ventriloquist
It's because he has a cut nerve on his face from a mistake made during his birth!
@@em.1633from forceps
@@em.1633 so are you making fun of his birth defect? You are messed up
"Tank Girl" was fun. Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.
They just came out with a special edition of it and a bunch of other things with it
Babe is so underated..
These guys get it though.
One of my favorite movies...smile
4:35 “she just doesn’t look good, I’m talking about her face!”
One of the most savage, out-of-nowhere lines ever spoken
@@stradify1yes!!
Did Siskel think an ex-prostitute should look like Heather Locklear?
30 years ago, you could get away with critiques like that.
siskel will get away with it
Can you imagine how very high Snipes and Harrelson were during the filming of Money Train?
I saw WATERWORLD in the middle of a Hot summer in Las Vegas....enjoyed it. 😮
Love these old clips
Where I find most of my buried treasure
"Start digging"!! LOL TgT
Love my Showgirls.
It would be very interesting to see how Siskel and Ebert would react to the crap of 2024.
I get the sense that at least one of them would be exhausted by all the endless superhero movies.
It’s the same as always really - plenty of crap movies, but also some really good movies. Of course there are still great movies coming out, it’s silly to say otherwise.
Waterworld = massive budget
$200 million
Vincent Pastore probably thought his career was going nowhere after that Jerky Boys movie…little did he know
Johnny Brennan eventually landed on his feet scoring his steady gig as Mort on Family Guy, but that’s about it I suppose.
@@Drew791 Vinnie played Big Pussy on the Sopranos
The Sopranos was an offer he couldn’t refuse
I was 7 but fully agree with these adults 😅
Waterworld is an enjoyable fantasy actioner. And saying it's a downer, well it is post-apocalyptic.
Prince albert
In a can?
What the hell was Max Von Sydow doing in Judge Dedd? $$$$$$
Getting paid yo, that art stuff don’t pay
It’s good to know that even back then, stuff like VR and 3D were being seen for what they were, gimmicks.
Now the meta verse and AI
I think Charlie Murphy, per The Dave Chappelle show would say "Siskell is a habitual line stepper!"lol
"I think I'm bleeding in my chest!" Dave Chappells, Rick James skits were the best. Charlie Murphys stories about him were insanely funny!
I love Vampire in Brooklyn! The Blacula joke he cracks always makes me laugh.
That movie is Beyond AWFUL~
I once lied to a popular pretty girl in junior high who spoke to me and asked me what I did last night. I told her I went and seen Money Train.
In a beautiful piece of karma, we had to watch a taped TV program later in another class and a TV spot revealed it wasn't even out yet.
Sev7en opened against Showgirls the rest is history
Yeah I think it would have failed against fallen 🤣🤣🤣
Boy, they really nailed Eddie Murphy's career trajectory in the late 1990s and 2000s. They do sound like a pair of royal grumps about the Power Rangers, though. Sometimes there's no harm in an insubstantial, toyetic film... I'm sure my childhood is full of such flicks.
"Interactivity looks as dead as a doornail"
[Telltale Games will remember that]
I'd love to know what Siskel and Ebert would think of Bandersnatch if they were here today
I still say Judge Dredd is underrated.
remake was great..original sucked
it had a great soundtrack and some cool costumes and 'blade runner' surroundings, that's all.
@iluvmylovebirdandmybudgiet7729 … oh stop. not even a remake. 1995 most amazing year. Judge Dredd rules, you’re no fun. the campiness is the best part
Get em Gene!
Didn't realize there was a Minecraft version of Siskel and Ebert. Cool!
It's Prince Albert in a can. Prince Albert sponsored the Grand Ole Opry on NBC Radio and it was tobacco. Roger and Gene were both wrong.
Amazing to hear them call Power Rangers The Movie a live action adaptation of the show.
Here's an fun trivia: Kevin Reynolds' Waterworld was nominated for an Academy Award for best achievement in sound-Steve Maslow, Gregg Landaker, Keith A. Wester in 1996. Released by Universal Pictures in 1995.
Imagine if they had to review modern day Disney films
It’s funny that Ebert thought Power Rangers was an animated TV show lol
Dredd, Tank Girl, Waterworld not the best films of all time but really good films to watch from time to time.
LOL Money Train was so bad I never heard of it, and I was a 90s kid. I don't remember even seeing a VHS copy of it on somebody's rack. lmao!
Water world isn't bad but way too expensive. I kind of liked it
It was Prince Albert. Prince Albert in a can.
Fuck.
They really hated Pauly Shore, right?
That was funny.
I hate him too.
Lots of pretty bad films.
Hard to believe that David Caruso from CSI Miami starred in Kiss of Death and Jade that year.
Some of these movie became cult classics like Showgirls and Tank Girl.
@@davesecx Yup.
I wonder what Roger Ebert would think about movies in 4DX or IMax
imax he liked.
Live action version of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?
Is he implying there was a non live action version? 😂
The anime was better.
Hmmmm, Eddie Murphy's brother wrote Vampire in Brooklyn? I guess cocaine is one hell of a drug afterall
Jerky Boys made a movie?!?!
Mr Payback has a potental has a interactive dvd game but not has movie
Pauly Shore would be perfect for the Bill Clinton Perjury trial Jury.
I like Judge Dredd and Money Train
@16:21
Showgirls was cringe back in 1995. I doupt it has aged well.
And it's from the same director as robocop which is awesome
Tank girl is so good really enjoyed it 😅❤
Trash
I like and respect these guys, but... putting Waterworld on the years worst is just wrong! It's a gorgeous looking fun adventure movie, and would rate among the best of 1995 (which was a very good year btw) on my list.
It's pretty bad.
@@AyeThatsHandsomePete I respect your opinion... although you're very VERY wrong
@@thenerdycollector5013it’s a very generic and boring story, but the set design and stunts are immaculate. You could argue that the massive budget was “wasted” on a subpar film, but you can’t say it was wasted on the production design.
My reviews: out of 5
1 " The Scarlet Letter " 2 out of 5 👎
2 " Power Rangers ". 1 out of 5 👎
3 " Showgirls " 1 out of 5 👎
4 " Waterworld " 3 out of 5 👍

6 " Tank Girl " 1.5 out of 5 👎
7 " Money Train " 2 out of 5 👎

9 " The Jerky Boys " 1.5 out of 5 👎
10 " Jury Duty " 1.5 out of 5 👎
11 " Jade " 1.5 out of 5 👎
I thought Waterworld got a bad rap. I rather enjoyed it. Underrated film.
I still say Waterworld is crapped on a bit too much, if it wasnt the most expensive movie ever made at the time and gone way over budget it would be a fun, forgettable but mediocre cheesy action flick. Even watching it today it isnt horrible but It isnt very good either, its meh, Dennis Hopper is bat shit bonkers and so over the top he's orbiting planet Mercury, it did have a great concept the problem is how do you film a movie entirely on water, when filming on water is one of the most difficult things to do.
My list worst of 1995
Showgirls
Vampire in Brooklyn
Jade
Ace Ventura when nature calls
Money Train
Fair Game
Judge Dredd
Assassins
The Jerky Boys
Shallow Grave
The Quick & The Dead
Batman Forever
Mr. Payback
Congo
Problem Child 3
Free Willy 2
Land Before Time 3
MMPR
Rage
Theodore Rex
Senior Trip
I forgot Theodore Rex existed. What a horrendous fever dream 😂😂
Shallow Grave was a wasted opportunity. Such a good premise. At least Danny Boyle followed up with Trainspotting, his best movie.
“Water World” is great.
I don't know about great, but it is definitely a fun watch.

Gotta disagree with this years picks. Waterworld and tank girl are fantastic films. lots of silly but fun watches as well like judge dredd and vampire in brooklyn
And SHOWGIRLS is the one film from 1995 that anyone remembers. That and CLUELESS.
Bullshit
Heat
Leaving Las Vegas
Casino
Tommy Boy
Apollo 13
Braveheart
Toy Story
Waterworld had a crazy successful stunt show at Universal Studios for years. Def not forgotten.
No one remembers siskel and ebert so called top 10 best list of 1995. Most of them Are boring nobody will watch. but everyone remembers judge dredd, showgirls, and waterworld. Judge dredd and showgirls are now classics and waterworld has a ride in universal studios.
Classics? 😂 As for Water world, people watch a show like that for special effects. They don't watch it because they care about the movie Waterworld. Siskel and Ebert appealed to people like me, adults that want more from film beyond stunts and explosions.
I don't even like the 'best' list from 1995. Such a terrible year for movies. Pretty much all of the 90's were horrid. There are even better movies today, like Furiosa and Abigail.
If they could only see the real trash that comes out today like the marvels and Barbie
They would be cancelled as not z's.
