Walton Goggins has no idea how iconic his line "Thou shalt get side tracked by bullshit every god damned time" will be amongst Bethesda game fans. It's not just the rule of the wasteland, its the rule of all Bethesda games.
"Kid? What kid?"
--Me, my first 16 hours in after recreating the castle from scratch, and owning EVERY SETTLEMENT!
@@aparker7777 "What in the goddamn?"
--Benny, after I spend 50 hours wandering the wastes, killing the Powder Gangers, getting the Archimedes weapon, helping out the Brotherhood of Steel, launching a nuke over Caesar's camp, hunting down the Khans hired by him, helping out the Kings and getting into the Lucky 38 with everyone in New Vegas as witness. All that, and yet Benny is still surprised when the Courier shows up at his doorstep.
I use it regularly when playing FO76
This is Waltons moment. He's absolutely killing it. He's one of those actors everyone took for granted but he's always been incredible.
He's been killing it. He was amazing in justified and vice principals, also every movie he's done.
Dudes has always been in everything but never as the lead, he definitely deserves this
This guy is the most underrated actor out there now. He absolutely CRUSHES his role as the Ghoul... What a bad ass performance, seriously.
I wouldn’t call him underrated. If he was he wouldn’t be doing much of anything, he’s like other character actors just doing what they love
You should check out his other work than, he kills every role, with the same level of enthusiasm and immersion. I always am happywhen I see him in a movie or a show :) I know its gonna be a gooder!
@@realchilldude1271 oh I know, very familiar with him
You people really need to quit using that word for EVERYTHING.
You people really need to quit using that word for EVERYTHING.
Walton Goggins is the man.
Every character he plays is gold 👌👌👌
He will always be uncle baby Billy in my mind.
I agree with that 100%
From Django Unchained to SoA, he’s a scene stealer! Watching his face as he watches LA being nuked in Fallout made my stomach drop, he’s just great.
All I hear is cecil 😂
"I almost feel like I'm talking to Bert Kreischer." I would've left after that comparison and changed my whole fucking life.
If it weren't for Goggins, I would've left the vid. Pick two humans that like alcohol. An amazing, talented actor and an unfunny, self-absorbed, meat sack.
So cringy.
I said to myself, “You gotta be kidding me,” when he said that. Yikes.
Hmm
Any well cultured, self-respecting person will tell you the absolute best way to enjoy a Manhattan is with your shirt off
Yeah I literally said "oh why the fuck would you bring him up" and especially in conversation comparing him to Walton
If David Goggins helps you through an 80-mile run where you fight a bear after, Walton Goggins sits and leads you through an acid trip before things go south, great interview
The ying and yang of goggins
David would get another coward chit so he could just keep running all day instead of fighting the bear
@dundabird3203 they can't hurt you no more..
Walton Goggins is one of the premier actors of this generation. I cant recall any role of his that he didn't crush. 👍👍
Walton Goggins been fire since The Shield
Him and his big beautiful teeth are iconic
I ain't shaving off a dead man's beard
One thing I wish these interviewers would ask the cast about Fallout is their thoughts on the music. The first thing I think of when it comes to Fallout is the Pipboy, the V.A.T.S system AND the music.
The music made those games so special. Also the radio DJs. They're like the Chorus in Greek theatre. There's something so rewarding about hearing a radio host reporting on your adventures, and making comments. Three Dog was a huge part of why I replayed that game so many times; I wanted to hear all good and bad reports.
Not only am i SO Happy Walton is getting MORE recognition, im so happy its because of my favorite game ever. The fact that Fallout is the new big thing just fully backs why ive been such a fallout nerd for almost 20 years now. So awesome
Walton goggins is my current favorite actor. Fantastic actor and a man of integrity
Just like Cooper Howard was in 2077.
Can't stand when interviewers interrupt the guest 😒
x2
Agreed
Same
I felt so bad for Walton at several points in this. It felt like he was trying very hard to hide his annoyance.
Me too. There were a few times Walton was about to say something deeper that maybe we've never heard before and got cut off. Woulda loved to hear his thoughts over the commentary of interviewers, but that aside these guys did good and one of the better Goggins interviews out there I've seen so far.
Walton was INCREDIBLE as the Ghoul in Season 1 of Fallout! 🤩 The show had so many amazing performances, but he really stood out to me 👏🏼
I’m so glad to see Walton on podcasts and interviews all over now. I love that dude. He’s so damn good and seems chill as fuck.
This guy is just quietly making an amazing catalog. He reminds me of Kurt Russel in his ability to act in many things at a high level but also fly under the radar. The Ghoul and Lucy are my two favorite characters so far.
Dude not only knows his place in Hollywood, but seems to absolutely love it.
"dad, was it your thumb or mine?" truly a line that made my hair stand up. especially with todays context.
Yeh, that first scene was amazing. Even though we knew it was going to happen I still said "no no no no" when the flash happened. The little girl displaying fear and panic was such good acting.
What's today's context?
I agree. I played Fallout 4 and even though it was like a whoa moment to see the bomb go off, in the live action show it was terrifying to think what it’d be like to see that for real. I remember my mouth was open in horror.
@@Terminxmanthe first scene in the show Fallout that just released. Kinda insane that you couldn't figure that out but here's the context
@@Roblox_Jesus he said “with today’s context” which I assumed doesn’t refer to the context of the show because that wouldn’t make sense. He’s already quoting a line from the show so it wouldn’t be necessary to add “with context to (the show)”
Man, The Unicorn was so damned good. That's the show that made my wife absolutely love Walton, and it was so good to see Walton play a character like that after Justified and all the other shows.
Bro the new fallout show is so insanely good. It's the best video game adaptation I've ever seen but I'm kinda worried that they released it early. Maybe they thought it wasn't going to do so well because we were disappointed with the trailer. But the fn show is insane. Go watch it.
They only release shows early when the reviews for it are really good. They moved it one day earlier, which is probably when the embargo for reviews lifted and started getting posted, and making the show come out the same day as a bunch of great reviews start getting published drives a lot of people to check it out when the show drops
I feel like the interview could have been so much better if you had just allowed him to finish what he started saying. There were so many times where he would start to respond to a question and then you'd interrupt and derail him, and it turned into a completely different subject. I would have loved to know what he WOULD have said...Why even ask questions if your not gonna let him answer? Defeats the whole purpose of an interview.
What a fun interview! Walton Goggins is the best! He's so humble, grateful, and generous and one of my favorite actors. Thanks guys for this.
How is this man Walton Goggins _so damn Charismatic?!_ Its not fair!
These guys are not just glazin. Walter Goggins has been in so many of my childhood movies and tv shows. When i saw that teaser trailer for fallout, i was so excited. I knew he would play a good ghoul. He often played the less flattering and less moral characters in the past. Such as his character in Sons of Anarchy. Pure talent and very likable. This guy is one of the greats.
Such a cool guest. Loved this interview
I could gush for days about this man, but I’ll try and be brief.
Walton Goggins is an absolute treasure. He’s so prolific that I feel like I’ve seen so much of his filmography, yet there’s soooo much still yet for me to see. He’s the best, if not damn near the best, in every project he’s a part of.
And Fallout is fantastic. In terms of adapting a video game into the film medium, in my opinion Fallout is the best that’s ever been done. The Last of Us is obviously incredible, but that show basically retold the game. Nothing wrong with that, my point is that that game is already very cinematic and narratively driven in a way that lends itself to direct adaptation much more smoothly than a game like Fallout. Where Fallout succeeds is in the detail, not retelling events from the games, and conveying information that you learn playing the games to the audience in brilliant ways. It’s almost as if you could piece together each character S.P.E.C.I.A.L. scores, stats and perks. Like The Ghoul has the gore perk and high intimidation and small gun stats. In the first episode, Lucy basically describes some of that herself, her hand-to-hand proficiency for example, during her marriage subplot. Maximus has zeroes in speech and charisma, for sure. 😂
This was not brief lol. Apologies 😅
Crazy how almost noone mentions his best show, The Shield. Fucking amazing. Everything he's been in is great!
He is great in everything he does, but Justified and Boyd Crowder was easily one of the best tv "villains" of all time
I really enjoyed him in Justified. Also the Shield though.
NGL, Venus Van Dam on SOA also is 👩🍳 😚 🤌
Sorry, Justified trumps the The Shield.
@@ppgriffith69 yeah no, it doesn't
The Shield is one of the greatest pieces of media ever
Walt is my favorite actor of the last 20 years. Justified is my favorite show ever, and I'm a massive Fallout gamer forever and he was so damn good in the show. This video should have a million views and Barstool isn't promoting an interview like this like they should.
Feel the exact same way!
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Gets the mans name right, hes owed the respect he deserves
Great hosts honestly, funny and butt in when it’s appropriate like friends joking around but also giving him silence/full attention when he’s telling a story
Still upset The Unicorn was cancelled. Such a great show
Walton said "Live your Life with Purpose" ......what a Great line !!! ( Love that guy ) 🔥🔥🔥
I hope he knows that my wife and I genuinely loved him in The Unicorn too.
He's my favorite TV actor. So many crazy roles that nobody else could pull off. I'm glad he's finally getting the much deserved attention
Everyone thought fallout was doomed until we found out Walton Goggins was in it
He seems very, very sweet and down to earth. Thank you for uploading.
This kfc guy can’t NOT interrupt other people it’s embarrassing
yeah, at 40:27 , i feel like he is upset about it lool, i know i am upset for him. like how can you cut off such an amazing actor multiple times.
@@gevoian noticed him looking annoyed multiple times but he’s a pro and just rolled with it.
Yes! Interviewers: YOU are not the reason people watch the interviews.
loud yanks lol, Mr. Goggins was really cool for being cool
he interrupted his own marriage by cheating as well lmao
As a longtime gamer, and someone who loves tv/film - Fallout the series was executed perfectly. I've been such a fan of the game, and a huge fan of Walton - it was its own beautiful piece of art while really showcasing the aspects of the game that mean so much to us fans.
Just started but he’s Cecil in invincible which is also great and underrated
I feel like a disgrace for never knowing about Walton before Fallout, and damn, I've been missing out. He really seems like my kind of guy.
Crazy how good an actor Goggins is. I remember watching him in SOA as Venus and since then just went nuts. This is by far the most impressed I’ve been
So Walton thought he was on a KFC restaurant podcast the whole time didn’t he?
Hahaha was thinking the same thing
He's also great in The Righteous Gemstones. His versatility to do comedy and drama is incredible
Uncle Baby Billy makes that show, you can see the rest of them sorta busting up a little bit during the completely outrageous scenes but not Baby Billy he plays it so seriously that you think he is a real person somehow. The rest of them are funny but the scenes that he is in are always the highlights of the show he says the craziest things and he’s serious about it. I always liked him but Baby Billy is one of my favorite characters of all time wouldn’t mind seeing a whole Baby Billy spinoff.
SOA and the shield, Waltons character had alias'. shanes was Cleetus Van Damme and in SOA it was Venus Van Damme. He is a great actor. On the shield Shanes at the end of his running with his family and said, 'family meeting' when he got home. it was so powerful, touching and sad.
Just finished Fallout and watched it because of this interview. Great show! I recommend everyone watch it.
Been a huge Walton Googins fan ever since I saw him in the The hateful eight. If anyone hasn’t seen that yet, it’s Walton at his best firing on all cylinders. He steals the shown in my opinion, and the cast in that movie is stacked
i would very much like to work with Walton. stuntwork or acting.. i dont care. dudes a legend on screen.
I've seen Walton for years in films, but it wasn't until Fallout that I really appreciated him as an actor. This interview is absolutely raising my opinion of him to stellar proportions. What a great guy. Glad to see he's got such an awesome show, and I hope it stays for a long time!
that was amazing! really lit up!
It's crazy that with the amazing shows and crazy talent that he has that he is really just now getting the attention that he desserves. This man is a national treasure.
Such an awesome interview! Goggins seems like such a cool dude and as a fan of the Fallout video series I’m really excited to see him in the new show
You have one of the most interesting actors to ever live and yet you won’t let him finish an organic thought without interrupting… C’mon guys!
Mr. Goggins, what a class act and I am not shocked, he is naturally funny with his timing and easily brings that timing to powerful dramatic roles! 😎🤙🤙
Reminds me so much of Bill Paxton, great actors in their own right 👏🙌 can't wait for Fallout 👍
Absoloutely fantastic interview glad I came acorss this
I’ve been a fan of him since the first season of Justified and he’s become one of my favorite actors ever. I’ve been a massive fanatic of Fallout since 1998 and he’s so perfect in it. He feels exactly like a true Fallout character and I’m so stoked he’s in Fallout. They did an awesome job on it and so did all the actors💙💛
his role as venus changed my views on life.
Aaron Eisenberg had to work a way to get a shield mention into every episode of the 7th rule, untill his passing. RIP sir. You will be missed.
Low key Walton is one of the greatest character actors to ever live. He will be remembered as such.
They brought up Walton Goggins through Line. I think his work in fallout, is the best metric so far to show his versatility, and his ability as he said ” to find dramas comedic, and comedies dramatic.” Is Work at the ghoul and his pre-war self, are two totally different characters, yet the same man only 200 years later. You can still tell that they are the same person. But he was able to show it.
He truly is the Goat
White coat guy just loves to keep talking
fantastic interview, love the piece you said about art and the motivation behind being creative
That guy can do, whatever he wants to.
I need more of this actor!!!
The man is articulate!
What an amazing interview. Walton Goggins is like the coolest dude ever. From Justified to Fallout and everything before and in between he absolutely does his job beautifully. 🍻
“Not anymore he ain’t, unless he’s a coward.”
“Oh, you want another autograph young Henry?
Goggins had all the best lines
Walton Goggins is one of my favorite actors. Such a wonderful human being. Sexy and talented! He truly is a badass. This is such a great interview!
Yall really screwed his name up in the thumbnail
EDIT: and in the description
Absolutely LOVE Walton Goggins. The man absolutely improves every project I've ever seen him in. Seems like well deserved fame as well, very genuine.
Such a good guy and podcast great chemistry
Great interview!
Still haven't even seen the show yet. Am already a super fan of Walton's from Justified. Really awesome to see it all happening again for him.
Walton was one of my all time favorite actors even before Fallout and The Hateful 8, before Django. My first introduction was seeing Shanghai Noon and having him chasing Owen and Jackie through the whole movie up until the very end when he catches up to them come to find out he's a huge fan of Roy O'Bannon and wants his autograph 😂
I've been a huge fan of Walton ever since Vice Principals! I've seen everything he's been in since. He deserves the recognition he's getting from Fallout so much!
The best actor especially justified
For comparison, check out the practical makeup FX they did for Skeletor, from the Masters Of The Universe (1987) film.
1:49 He voiced Cecil from "Invincible"? HOLY. How can I not figure that out myself? Extremely good work in "Fallout" and "Invincible."
He's literally the best part of the show and I'm not saying this as a like bias fan. It's simple , every scene he was in were by far the most interesting scenes in all 8 episodes
It's nice to see Walton Goggins in a main character role, as the first movies I saw him in were Shanghai Noon and Django where he is always one of the grunts or side characters.
To me this role is the best of Walton's career. He has so much to work with and stretch out in.
Great interview! Walton is so cool
What I especially love about his role in Fallout is how he always slightly posing and overplaying.
Just exactly like 200+ years old actor who was very popular and now doesn't have audience would act.
Attention to detail is very important if you want to create good product and Fallout falls into category no questions.
Omfg he’s cecil I didn’t realize until they said invincible and then I instantly heard it 🤣🤣 it’s weird not hearing him bitch at mark
didn't talk nearly enough about Misbehavin'
This was great. Long format for the win.
Nice interview, but the left guy in particular really needs to work on his not cutting off the guest when they are mid-thought. Happened like 10 times in this interview. Just saying.
so what’s the film vice principals is based on? i can’t believe you cut him off just as he was about to say!
One of my favorite actors. He is just that type of actor that adds immense value to the films he is in. Sometimes I don;t even care about the other characters, I just want to see this guy do his thing and be cool all the time.
I think the first time I actually recognized Walton was in American Ultra and I instantly became a fan of his especially after hateful eight and Django
His Cecil Steadman in Invincible is absolutely wonderful. It just works. Cecil is such a well written character. Great comic.
I am now a massive Walton goggins fan
He’s just so down to earth
This is the cool thing about the podcast format, you get to know people, it ain't just the same dumb questions they make in interviews
Cant even spell his name right in the thumbnail
i enjoyed him as the ghoul on fallout, was one of my favourite shows in a long time.
Loved the episodes about The Ghoul’s life around the time of the event. I got antsy waiting for his backstory moments though lol
They do need to let the guest speak a little more.
I suppose that's the flaw of two interviewers
Every time he talks about representing the transgender community via his character on SoA it makes me tear up. Thank you, Walton, for giving a shit about us.
He's such a good actor that it took a while for me to like him after the original run of The Shield. Now he's my favorite, and if he's in it, I watch.
i didn't know he was the govt. guy from Invincible but it makes sense now, i can hear it!
Walt Goggins range of acting is insane. Glad he’s getting the recognition he deserves.
I worked on a recent film with him. I've worked with "bigger stars" by name power but that set was the one I had to keep pinching myself and saying "is this real?"
Show is the best I've seen in years
