    A really excellent video guy's, thank you! I have a HW77 and its absolutely superb. My parent's bought it for me,as a Christmas present, nearly 30 years ago, and I can still remember shooting it on a snow covered Christmas morning,fabulous memories! Great stuff again guys. The HW77 mk2 was the most accurate Springer I ever had, still got an HW80 one of the most solid reliable spring rifles ever made. Great video, mates, a phantastic idea to present part of the history of Weihrauch's airguns. I got a Haenel 303, purchased it in East - Berlin shortly after the Wall broke down. Haenel, like Weihrauch, Walther and Anschütz all come from the same region in Germany (Zella-Meelis and Suhl), but Haenel ist the only company that is still there. They don't produce airguns anymore but machine guns for the Bundeswehr ( army).

      ive just picked up a 2004 ( thats when it was bought from a store ) 77 in a hard case, no pitting on the barrel and to be honest it looks brand spanking new, the previous owners father purchased it to add to his air arms guns etc it was his favourite gun and he only used it 4 times before oiling it and putting it in a hard case and then taking ill and passing away, his son kept it in its case and never took it out. realistically it cost me £120 and a 49 mile drive.
      Feels very solid and i cant wait to try it out, just looking for a local permission and jobs a goodun

    'Every day is a school day'. :-) Sorry about the Vixen safety catch sticking (now fixed). Just hardened grease through non use - a bit like me really. I will use light oil (Balistol) in future. I removed the Anti-B trap because that used to be my HFT gun and when the 'STOP SHOOTING' was called I was able to de-cock my gun and not waste a cherished (washed, weighed, sized) pellet.
    The '55 barrel lock is adjustable and 'cams' the barrel back into the action.

    Superb video- very enjoyable trip down Weihrauch memory lane! I own 2 x HW77K's- one being a Venom Lazaglide, I've owned it since I was 16 in 1987, the other being a V-Mach tuned 77. 2 x HW80k's- one being a Venom, the other being a V-Mach Lazaglide. I have just bought a very tidy 1980 HW35E- tuned with a Tinbum kit, which I cannot wait to get to grips with, they are a classic rifle, very well engineered, and very influential on later HW rifles eg HW80. The Vixen HW35 had chromed internal parts- including the piston, spring and guide. The barrel locking catch was also chromed. They came with a specific 'Vixen' gun bag, and a certificate back in the day. They are very rare and becoming collectible- I just missed out on buying a very nice one earlier this week.
    The Rekord trigger *IS* the finest trigger mechanism, I've never found a better trigger. I own a Theoben Evolution- that I bought from Lloyd about 3 months ago- lovely rifle, but the trigger is not a match for the Rekord. I also own an AA TX200- superb piece of British engineering- but once again, the trigger isn't quite as good as the Rekord. I suspect that straight out of the box, the TX200 might edge the HW77. However, when it comes to tuned versions, the 77 will win the top honours I suspect. A tuned 77 is superlative, and they are iconic rifles. I concur with Lloyd, if I had to take one air rifle on to a desert island, it would be a HW80k- they are hewn from granite and will last a life time.
    You cannot go wrong with a Weihrauch, it's that simple. Back in the 80's, the 77 and 80 were the Big Boys on the block, with the 77 completely dominating FT competition shooting. If you didn't have a 77, you weren't in the competition!
    Quality video- Keep up the great work lads! :)

    Love it. Hw 35 a classic air rifle from Happier times. I sold my venom Hw 80 and the 77 but for some reason not the 35 ive had it since 1980 and couldn't even tell you how many Rabbits pigeons and rats ive shot with it. I'm in the process of servicing my HW35E I bought new in 1983, manufactured in 1980 according to the serial No. Doesn't get used that often, a bit of back garden plinking and keeping rats off the bird feeders. It's never been stripped in all that time but decided to do so after power seemed to have tailed off. Found a broken spring but everything else is nigh on perfect, even the original leather washer. A new spring, some new nylon bits and a re-lube should do the job. 👍

    I have a scruffy example of an HW25 which needs some work as pellets barely leave the end of the barrel. It is very much a small and lightweight junior rifle, almost a toy tbh, the barrel is only 12mm in diameter, the OD of the cylinder is 25mm (under 1 inch) and the trigger is a basic non-Rekord version. I'd guess the questionable wisdom of marketing guns specifically for children is part of the reason it was discontinued, similar to how toy soldiers are no longer made of lead.

    Hi very informative videos with nice guns, especially took my interest and wanted you’re advice because very soon I’m going to pick up a Weirhauch, the seller in Manchester has 2 guns, a hw35 e 1980 walnut stock, re blacked and mint, Or he has a 1981 mk1 hw80 re blacked and mint but with brass trigger and trigger guard, in your guys opinions and I know it’s a tough 1 but which is the best choice for buying and keeping hold of? With resale evaluation in mind years down the line and so on. the 35s a .22 and the 80 a 1.77. Any advice greatly appreciated thanks.

    Wasn’t the pop up breech Weihrauch the HW57? I heard a few times you referred to it as the HW50? I believe the HW50 in its newest form is the euro version of the UK HW99s and there was an earlier HW50 model but that didn’t have the rekord trigger. Good video though chaps really enjoy the content 👍🏻

    • @MrJoshuaJJJ
      @MrJoshuaJJJ 5 лет назад +2

      The HW50 was produced from the late 1940s in various forms. The early version were smooth bore due to Allied Occupation rulings. Some models of '50 had the Rekord trigger some the Perfect unit. (interchangeable). Ive also never seen a '50 with a pop up breech. I have heard that early HW trigger guards were carved from wood due to a lack of materials and a surplus of staff.

    The HW85 is still available (although presumably a more recent iteration?) and so is the HW35E. I'd be interested to hear why the HW85 wasn't so indestructible and why Tony thinks it's the worst of the bunch. Forgive my ignorance, but I thought the only difference between the HW85 and the HW95 was the barrel length (the 95 being shorter) but it sounds like there are actually some other differences. The HW57 is the modern pop-up breech under-lever model rather than the HW50, I believe the HW50 is a break-barrel which is also designated as the HW99. I agree that a slightly scaled down version of the HW77 would be preferable over the HW57. Weihrauch could release it as the HW67.

    and the hw77 well have a look at the feinwerbau 300s the airgun that won everything in 10 meter championships.
