    I work with musicians as a part time job. I have talked with many musicians over the years that say a lot of classical music and music with sounds of nature like waterfalls, animal sounds and such can really help develop the conscience people with specials needs if it is played at a low volume while they are asleep.

    My son had a hard time learning to jump also. We got a mini trampoline with a bar and he now can jump very well.

    Love your hair Leilani! My second oldest has Dravet Syndrome which is a genetic disorder that causes seizures, SPD, ADHD, autism, eating issues, word finding issues.. the list goes on. Kids with Dravet can be all over the map in terms of special needs.
    It takes a lot of time for therapies and sometimes I wonder if some of them are helpful or are they just causing more frustration. 💜💜💜

    Wow! Thanks for this video! Naomi is doing amazing! And you’re doing amazing 😁 So many perfect goals for her! My 3 1/2 yr old has DS and she’s at the same place (just a little behind Naomi 😋) I very recently came across some youtube videos by DSRF Canada (Down syndrome research foundation). They have a whole bunch of information about teaching people with DS to read. Among other things! You should check it out. Also, a goal my daughter’s preschool teachers and therapists have for her is to recognize her name. They have her picture with her name printed beside it. All her spots are labeled with that (jacket hook, chair, toy bin, etc) just so she gets used to seeing it - a high frequency word! So maybe just another idea for your Naomi ☺️ I totally agree it’s early to “read” but never too early to introduce the concept of seeing words and letters!
    Anyway, I love what you’re doing!!! Keep it up! God bless!

    I have to say I just really enjoy how down to earth you are and the approach you are taking in raising your babies.
    Are you looking into Gemini or heard of it? Its suppose to encourage language. I have an autistic nonverbal son and have been considering purchasing it. If not, are you willing to share which speech program you are getting?
    Thanks so much for sharing this journey. You are inspiring!! 💜💜💜💜

    I just wanted to say, today I’m my early childhood education class I had to present a slide show about Down syndrome with a video. I used a video with Naomi in speech. I absolutely adore her. Subscriber= gained.

    I'm homeschooling my 9 year old for the past year, the bad part is that she is not getting any therapy. Potty training wasn't easy, but so nice and horay!!! when it happened. We are planning to move to Florida, good to know about getting help to homeschooling. Does the PT, OT and speech are out of your pocket or there is a way of getting those therapies paid by the State or County? Thank you! Keep up the good work! God bless your beautiful family!

      Because Naomi has a heart condition, we were able to get a special program to pay for all of her medical expenses. It is through the State.

    Some encouragement, it is true that as they improve quickly in one area they usually will not improve as fast in other areas. Is it possible to increase speech therapy? At this stage Sophie was getting 4 days per week of speech and that’s when she started making real progress.

    • @LivingWithEve
      @LivingWithEve  3 года назад +1

      We are trying to get that done, the Speech therapist wants to wait till after the holidays though.

    If I were you, I wouldn't push the potty training yet. I encouraged mine to stay in diapers as long as they wanted to. It is a lot easier to change a diaper than it is to find a clean public bathroom.

      It’s through Step Ip For Students, however they are switching websites and name. I think the new system is called EMA? Go to the Step Ip For Students website and read about it there. Once things settle in with the new system, I might make a video.
