One of my most loved songs and how it's performed is fantastic. Fun and classy and love that beat. He's younger here, he also performed in Russia 2009 white hair, not as thin, but still sold it! And still tapped. What a hoot.
"Puttin' On The Ritz" was originally written by Irving Berlin in1927. Taco a Dutch musician released a synth-pop cover version of this song in 1982. It was his biggest hit & is considered a "one hit wonder".
It was also famously, and humorously, covered by Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle in "Young Frankenstein". And, Stan, Taco also recorded a decent cover of "Singin' in the Rain" that I'd recommend.
Such a coincidence! I was literally just listening to this song with my kids last night! They didn't understand what the title meant, so I had to explain. While I was explaining, I immediately thought someone should react to this song. And here you are!! 👍 Funny tidbit about the original version of this song - in the Mel Brooks movie, _Young Frankenstein,_ the Doctor had his reanimated creature dance to this song. It's frickin hilarious!!! 😂 Also,as an avid tap dancer myself, I learned the tap part of this song when I was in high school... and I still remember it to this day!
I was around 18 and had a cassette from Taco (After Eight) that had this song on it. The other songs were also good. I specifically remember "Singing in the Rain" and "Tribute to Tino (Valentino). What a blast from the past. Thanks ♥️
Taco as just released After Eight 40th Anniversary Edition album with demo's and unreleased songs, all available to stream or to listen to on Taco's Official RUclips Channel.
Thanks for reacting to this video I can't believe nobody seems to know who Gary Cooper is when they react to this. Love this song 🎵 MUCH love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕❤
I loved we were bopping our heads at the same time!! Lol😂 we were feeling it. Chattanooga Chew Chew great work he does. He is still crooning. He is such a performer.
"Tell me that you like it", "Glory of love", "Somewhere over the rainbow" and epic video "Let's face the music and dance", and I really need your reaction to that video, kaboooommm... By Taco. Thanks for your video, regards from Chile ☺️☺️☺️
Yo!!!! Irving Berlin. The Man. The Man. The goat of so much music in this country that most people don't even realize he created. This is the man (not Taco, but Berlin) who wrote God Bless America. Irving Berlin came to the United States as a refugee from Tsarist Russia, escaping a pogrom that destroyed his village. Growing up on the streets of the lower East Side, the rhythms of jazz and blues inspired his own song-writing career. (Wikipedia) An honored veteran of WWI, he returned to the U.S. and wrote comedic songs about his time in the military. This is a man who, as a child, jumped into the Hudson River because he dropped his newspaper money (he sold papers to help support his family) into the river while he was leaning over a railing watching a giant ship come in. He was like 10 years old. Passers-by fished him out as he almost drowned. I would love to see a reactor do a deep dive into Irving Berlin. He wasn't much of a singer himself, but his body of songwriting work is prolific. It's been said that Irving Berlin has no place in the American Songbook..... because he IS the American Songbook. Here's a performance of God Bless America he did on the Ed Sullivan Show TV show: ruclips.net/video/Vmc-pEyUHTs/видео.html

Amazing video as always my awesome friend! You are so talented Life With Stan! Keep up the amazing work! I can't wait to see you reacting to me reacting to you reacting to Pentatonix! I'm so excited! And could you please do Pentatonix Can You Feel the Love Tonight? at some point? I really want to know what you think of it
Taco Ockerse is his real name. He has another video out called, “let’s face the music and dance,” but I forget the original artist’s name. Did anyone tell you that Puttin’ on the ritz is from Irving Berlin? Snippets of other songs are in here during the breakdown. Finally, this video is the best out of the five I’ve seen Taco do. The very first one is a bit controversial
Hi there is also a new verson of this song done in either Russia or France, Im not sure. You really will like the comparison of the 80s version and the newer one. Check it out
