    If there is a square between the queen and the opposing king, the queen covers 7 of 9 squares. The missing two squares can be covered by the bishop. In addition, you need the edge or an opposing king. Because the bishop stands on black squares, the queen must stand on a white square. Either the queen offers checkmate or the bishop does. This eliminates many moves.

    maybe : (spoiler) Q-B3 leaves K-C1 or E2, and then B-E3 or Q-C2XX?

      I really like these mate in two problems! I solved by visualizing a mate and saw the need to force K-E2 and Q mate at C2, but no way to give K only that move, then saw the B mate at E3. Elegant problem!
